Hey I just setup a new tank I've used good materials and my well water. For some reason my water looks like it has a brown or red tint but it's clear just has this tint would the brownish sand caz this. Like a reflection? Thx jamier
Awesome video! I'm getting ready to set up a 40gal breeder and I was going to use fluval substrate and flourite black sand gravel in fine mesh bags and cap with fourite black sand, is this a bad idea??
So, I just found you a few weeks ago... unfortunately after I started my tank. What should we do if we didn't start with a mud base? I have a 20 gallon with 2 inches of sand and 9 potted anubias (3 varieties) in terracotta plus a couple of pieces (one large) of mopani wood. Over the last 2.5 weeks, I've added 8 Glo Tetras and 7 kuhli loaches.
@@FatherFish I went to a community park and got a big handful of decaying leaves from the shoreline and a couple of handfuls of muck. The kuhli loaches are loving it, lol.

Maybe no plants because they could eat them Do you think these cases would work with not filtration, not water changes but with deep substrate and food web ?
I did a 30 day resurrection jar and put it I my tank (water only). Now my fish have flukes!I and i pulled out 2 small dragon fly larvae a few days ago! I emptied out a dirt bottom tank the other day and the dirt had stained and corroded? (Wrong word probly) the silicone. I'll never put dirt or any foreign water in a tank again. Highly recommend Fishtory he explains alot more and takes far less risks introducing things into his tank

So i have a koi carp tank in my balcony. it gets some light in daytime. How can i get rid of algae there? Also some of the Koi's are scratching their body against surfaces. Ich i guess. I cant provide heater there. What should I do?
Question : I set my 55 gallon tank up without dirt. Everything , except the sand came through from the creek- the rocks, plants, the darters, killfish, and young. bluegills. I have 4 inches of sand , and a ton of natural gravel from the river mixed in- not washed , only lightly rinsed. Will my system create its own natural cycle in time as fish waste and such precipitates into the substrate?

How often should you replace/reseal an aquarium?
Would you avoid a glass lid on a 5 gallon betta tank? Would you go with a meah lid instead or would a betta prefer the humid air at the surface?
They don’t like dry air-it can be harmful.They also jump,depending on what type you have.

add more plants to compete with the algae
Plants will reduce the amount of nutrition in the water column and starve out the algae
