I used this bag (edit: and only this bag) on a 2 month trip to Korea, and it worked great. I was able to fit: 2 full Peak Design small packing cubes, a fairly large tech kit (maybe a bit smaller than the Peak Design one), a 15” laptop, a 3L Peak Design every day sling (which almost perfectly matches the shape of the top opening of the bag when you lay it flat), packable rain jacket and sun hoodie, dopp kit in an Able Carry stash pouch, and a bunch of smaller odds and ends. Total weight was around 11kg, and while I wouldn’t say it was comfy, it was doable even on days where I was stuck carrying the bag for hours. I also climbed Hallasan during the trip, and this pack could easily hold my camera sling and enough food and water for an entire day of hiking (4L IIRC), between the huge exterior water bottle pockets and the internal sleeves.
Thank you for watching and for sharing your experience with the bag! That’s great to hear it worked out so well for you and I agree on how versatile this one is!:)
I looked at the MR 2DAP today and I noticed that the back of the laptop sleeve is hard with absolutely no padding. Yet, none of the many reviews I have seen mention this as a negative. Laptop protection in this pack is very poor. The laptop should be surrounded by padding to prevent shock damage.
Thanks for the thoughtful review. How would you feel about taking this bag on a flight as a personal item (not carry on) assuming it’s not fully packed? I know it’s larger than what is allowed, but I’ve never been asked to actually measure my bags before. This one is a bit taller than what I’ve used, but doesn’t seem to look very bulky as you pointed out. Thoughts?
Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback! I’m glad the video was helpful and that’s a good question! That’s true the bag doesn’t get too bulky but it is still pretty tall so my guess is it might be tricky to use as a personal item just because it would have a hard time fitting under the seat in front. Hope that helps a it and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag!:)
Traveling Salseros Yeah that’s a good point. Would you say it feels noticeably bigger that the 24L urban assault? The advertised volume and height difference (1”) is small, but I know these numbers aren’t always accurate.
Good question! I’d say overall it does feel a good amount bigger not just the height but also a bit wider and then the molle webbing and straps just make it look more robust all around.
Great review! Because of you, Mr. Salseros, i've purchased my own MR Assault Pack 2 but a black one. Thank you so much! However, I have one problem with this bag. Each end of the optional hip straps it comes with is open and loose ended. It will easily be made undone during travel. This is very poor in design. How did they (Mystery Ranch) expect us to keep the hip straps from unraveling/sliding off've the tightening buckles?!
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! I agree the waist strap system could be improved but normally I remove it so I haven’t had too many issues thankfully. I hope you enjoy using the bag a lot and that’s awesome you got the black one, it looks great!:)
This us a very interesting bag for me but it doesn't have a weight bearing belt so it would limit what I could Dec but my Ones 35 has a fantastic load bearing belt its very comfortable great breatheablity for youre back its just very cool.
I always felt that a rain cover inststantly removes the tactical look of any molle style backpack. I always wanted a pack with a rigid back support. This might be my next bag
Ordered this in a large/Xl based on my back measurement but I am only 5'9". I noticed you ordered yours in a S/M. Do you see much of a difference in the sizes? What are your dimensions? Any help is appreciated because I may return mine for the smaller size.
Thank you for watching! Both this and the UA24 are great all purpose bags, for office use I would lean towards the UA24 as it has a less tactical vibe and the size works a little better for day to day use imo. Beyond that these two there are a ton of bags that might be worth considering (aer city pack pro, alpha one niner Whitley, evergoods CPL24, bellroy transit Workpack). I don’t think those are necessarily better, they just have different aesthetics and layouts
I am torn between the 2 day assault and 3 day assault packs. To your knowledge, is the 3 day assault much larger, and can it carry that much more? And just for EDC and some light hiking, which one would you prefer?
Thank you for watching! I haven’t had a chance to use the 3 day assault pack but from what I’ve seen on their site and other videos it looks a good amount larger and I’m guessing it could carry additional items but for me this 2 day size would be my preference for the use cases you mentioned and even for some light travel. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag!:)
Thank you for watching! The color featured here is forest. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag!:)
Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback! The bag can kind of stand on its own but it’s largely inconsistent due to the shape at the bottom and it depends how you have the bag packed out. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag!:)
How's the size compared to the UA24? 3L doesn't sound like much but from pics and videos the 2DAP seems a lot bigger. Think the 2DAP is too big for EDC?
Thank you for watching and good question! I was surprised how much extra space the 2 day assault pack seemed to have and in addition to the extra liters I think the main compartment also feels like it holds more since there’s not a separate laptop compartment like the ua24. And yes personally I do think this would be a little big for edc and maybe a better size for minimal travel. Hope that helps a bit and please let me me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag!:)
Thank you for watching! I believe I have the medium sized hero clip and so far it has been super useful for clipping things onto my bags and for hanging my bags up when I don’t want to rest them on the ground :)
Thank you for watching! The bag doesn’t really standup well on its own and will need to lean against something. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag!:)
Thank you for watching and good question! It may depend on how you normally pack, but if you are a fairly minimal packer I think it can work well for that length of trip
This day on age, anyone that gets on an airplane for fun travel is an idiot. Especially when talking about an international trip, you couldn't pay me enough money to get on a plane and leave my homeland.

by back do you then mean the part which is next to the persons back, or the part between the laptop and the main compartment itself?
@@1herjer88 The part next to the back.
I hiked with this bag twice loading about 20lbs (cooking gears), the MR yoke suspension system is very comfortable.
Thank you for watching and for sharing your experience! Glad to hear you found it very comfortable as well!:)
Is it hydration compatible?
The sand with bright orange version of this model is so nice!
I agree that color combination looks great!:)
This bag is my new favorite bag, right behind my GR2.
Thank you for watching and glad to hear you’ve enjoyed the bag a lot!:)

Traveling Salseros Thanks 👍
The lap top compartment is not felt lined because that area is also designed to be used with a hydration blatter.
Thank you for watching and for the additional information. That definitely makes sense!

Espically if you got a dumb color like blue. Instant grey man.
Nice bag. Just bought one. I'm in the military, so I selected the Coyote color. Got 20% at CampSaver.
Thank you for watching and that’s awesome you were able to get it at a discount! The bag is really impressive and I hope you enjoy using it a lot!:)
I got one through expertvoice military discount. I believe it's like 40%. I paid around 135 total, shipping included.
Very nice bag! Thanks for the review.

Can I fit in an item that is 21" (53cm) long? Its very narrow but I am unsure if the length will fit.
Great review.. was the version you had the s/m size or l/xl harness system?
Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback! This is the s/m size harness:)
Not sure if I should get the UA24 or this one or something completely different as my office backpack, thoughts?

What is your waist size. Trying to figure out what size I am as I’m the same height.
Great review and gear sizing recommendations...
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful!:)
What color is this one? Forest or foliage? Thanks
Thank you for watching! The color featured here is forest. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag!:)
@@dannypacks Thank you, was trying to decide if I liked forest or foliage better, going for the forest. Thanks for the great review!

I so want one of those

Is this a s/m or l/xl
Danny have you tried the vanquest index series of bags I have the 35 but they also have the 26 liter version
Thank you for watching and for the suggestion! I haven’t had a chance to check those out yet but I have heard good things!:)
It's a great pack. I also did a review on it
Is this the forest or foliage colour?
Thank you for watching! This is the forest color:)
I plan to one week trip this to Thailand… possible as a one bag?
Thank you for watching and good question! It may depend on how you normally pack, but if you are a fairly minimal packer I think it can work well for that length of trip
@@dannypacks thanks Danny!
Those deep side pockets are for hydration bladders.
Thank you for watching and for the additional information!:)
3:00 what sizes is this bag? L/XL or S/M?
Thank you for watching! This one is S/M
How tall are you?
Thank you for watching! I am 5’11” :)
Traveling Salseros thank you! I’m the same height as you so I will also order the S/M 😊
What is your height? Your torso length?
Thank you for watching! I am 5’11” and my torso is approx 22”
What size was your bag?
Thank you for watching! This is the s/m size harness:)
What color is it? Foliage or forest?!
Thank you for it watching! This is the forest color:)
is this the l-xl or the s-m
Thank you for watching! This is the S/M size
Had bought but returned just because there's no spot for hydration bladder hose
Thank you for watching and that’s a fair point, definitely would have been nice for that to have been included!
There is a zipper at the top near the back, where the hose can go trough. You can see it if you watch George Defineds review of the bag.
@@MacGyv3r I saw the video of George. He had a good presentation on this bag. Thanks for the reminder. I intend to use hydration with this bag
Wish they had a 20/24 ltr version with the webbing, that would be ideal for me :)
Thank you for watching and I agree this style in that size would be awesome!:)
Check out the urban assault 24. Mystery Ranch makes that pack as well. 24ltrs, and no molle, but other than that it's pretty much the same pack
@@kingRukus39 thank for the heads-up
Am I the only one who cringed when the tactical pouch was attached and the Molle system wasn't used correctly?
Im so glad you noticed too lmao, I searched the comments just to find if someone else noticed
Well I don’t think he’s using it got tactical purposes. Seems like a tech guy that wanted a military style bag.
Aer day pack 2 pls!!!
Thank you for watching and for the suggestion! Should be taking a look at that one soon!:)
Why didnt you showcase that harness system?
You should look up how to properly use MOLLE webbing.
cAN SOMEONE BUY THIS FOR ME THX
That is not how you use molle.
This day on age, anyone that gets on an airplane for fun travel is an idiot. Especially when talking about an international trip, you couldn't pay me enough money to get on a plane and leave my homeland.
This pack DOES NOT have MOLLE. You're wrong and I'm right.
