Ow the Grant whistle 😂 normally put a snorkel hose on to quiet them down more. Great vlog as always keep the Oil flag flying

Like i have said to people before baby steps gets you a long way. You only build up a wealth of knowledge by nailing every thing what you do to perfection and then move on to the next step. That was an excellent video. Thanks for sharing. Did you use the Riello burner that was on the firebird into the Grant is that why you used the extra air diffuser and the serrated gauge plate because you went from a 40 kw to a 26kw. I’ve never seen or heard of those tools, very interesting and I take it that’s a low nox burner. Is there much difference in servicing the low nox burners to a normal RDB burner. Thanks again I’ve just discovered your channel and it’s a god send. So much to learn there really is.
Hi. Thanks for the comment and welcome on board! The burner on the Grant was the burner with the new boiler not the firebird one. The little tools comes with all new low nox burners on Grants. The extra air plate etc was also in the kit. The boiler was pre set a bit high hence i dropped the output required. The low nox burners are not any diff to service than the normal Riello RDB just check the nozzle flame ring as required. Have a good week. Rob

What pipe lagging do you use?
On this job it was climaflex but normally on outside pipework Armaflex as it lasts much longer. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching
Cost difference between Grant and Sapphire, ?
Depending on which model grant as th sapphire has a range of 6-32 kw. Around 800-1000 pounds . 25 year warranty on exchanger though. Hope this helps

You know your stuff on oil burners, i know there aint much to them, but its the extra details you know that i like to see, as boys round my way dont even know how to set the air intake on burners as they constantly soot them up 🤣🤣

It’s about 20 years since I did any Oil Boilers & I’m interested to know what the latest set-up is. Are you still using a Smoke Pump for example??
These have been used since I started my apprenticeship in the 70’s!!!
