The reason your flips were being caught automatically when you went over something was because you have Auto Grind enabled. The game detects the edges and tries to prepare you for the grind even when you don’t intend to. So turn that Off. Also, keep in mind that 0% GA actually pushes you off the rail or ledge for no reason (dev even confirmed this way back) It’s not as bad on Rails with tricks like Boardslide, lipslide, smith, feeble, stuff that you kind of lock your tricks… but Its really bad on ledges. Even if you lock a lipslide or 50-50 on a ledge, the game shoves you off. So it’s hard for the wrong reasons. Marc recommended keeping it at about 1-3 notches so that you aren’t shoved off your grind but still feels realistic. * and to be Clear..I’m not saying it’s not Possible to get tricks with 0GA.. I’m saying it’s not realistic Yet and that is was confirmed by the devs to not be working properly and that it does kick you off the ledge in an unrealistic way*

Manny has his arms covered but they wont be in Session ( Manny and Antiferg have 1 small one each on their characters right now tho) Appleyard has tattoos in the current version but wont have them in 1.0. So my character is finished and has my clothing style now
0 grind alignment is currently broken and actually pushes you off the rail. So having it at like 10 % is what it would be in real life. Currently with the way it works in game itll kick you off even when youve gotten perfect placement
I've fully transitioned to manual catch on session, it's a lot better once you get comfortable with it. I personally enjoy it more than skater xl's version I don't like clicking in the sticks it feels less natural to me. I also enjoy how if you do a grind input at the time your supposed to catch it you catch your trick and do a grind. So it's technically less inputs to do grinds or manuals.

Tips for the arms bug: put you're session mark while standing! I never have it that way and it's more fun to run before! (also you can switch your stance on the go that wat)
I don’t really recommend 0% grind balance right now because it’s kinda broken, most of the time it just “flings” you out of the grind edit: maybe I confused grind alignment or balance idk
Downside of Session is you still have zero control over how your tricks look. Don't think that will ever change, everything is just input this, input that, repeat.

Sooo many bugs for me and I have 2080ti and i9 so no hardware issues and none in any other game. it hopefully will be fixed by 1.0 but also the animations are supposed to be new for 1.0 and even (as far as I remember) having 0GA% is bugged, so many things are bugged.. I have had Donavan say for 2yrs the "animations are coming soon". Well 1.0 is soon and to me even at low the flip speed is way off and the body movement is stiff and unnatural. So big changes with 1.0 I guess. 🤷♂

It’s because your autogrind is on, the game detects the stairs as a ledge so it will automatically catch the board without you input anything

The flick to catch is good because you can catch in different ways, shifting forward or back for quicker transition to manual for example
I keep it on 10% alignment. There’s always a bit of stick to every rail or grind and 0% is too slippery

you are correct, the devs confirmed that having it set to 0% kicks you off the grind, its not supposed to do that.

Turn off auto grind or casual grind so it won’t auto catch off stairs. Also you can turn off the arm physics in the experimental settings

@nightspeeds your manual catch is not working due to auto grinds in your grind settings the manual catch will not work if you have it on
Having auto grind on will mess up your manual catch over stairs or anything grindable

The game isn't ready for 0 alignment. There isn't a balance system in place for it. Devs recommend using 2-4 alignment for optimal gameplay

This is just too tiddious man. Even in real life you kinda automatically lock on to a ledge when ur focusing on it and your trucks are loose enough
