The team was awesome and we had a lot of fun. You have to, to stay sane when you're crushing out a new and bigger game every year.
This is actually pretty awesome, THPS1+2 was great but the idea of a THUG1+2 remake would be even better. Seeing as those were the games I grew up with. So I Hope to see more progress on this in the future!
Unfortunately THUG 2 has Bam Margera as the centerpiece, a man they want so little to do with that they removed from the game's cover in the THPS remakes. Unlikely it will ever get remastered just for that.

They could rerecord the dialogue and just have the script say their name instead of Bam’s. Additionally, they could add in the extra content from THUG 2 Remix.

Wow man respect. This was such a huge game to my friends and I when were 11 years old. This came at the perfect time as we all started skating too. I think I played this game at every friend gathering/sleepover for the next 3 years haha atleast until THUG2 took over but we all agreed THUG1 was the better story.

"How I made a scuffed THUG level in 1 week UNREAL ENGINE" should have been the full title, I was thinking this was going to actually be a full redo of the game like the dude who took his time and remade Simpsons hit and run in Unreal Engine 5. looks good but put a bit more work into it and you actually have an amazing remade first map. I thought there was going to be full lines with reverts/pipe transfers/ grinds, and the whole 9 yards but for it being a week this is actually awesome, just being able to see the map and walk around and collect the boards and wheels was actually so nostalgic to see, I think the real mission that would have caught most peoples attention is the whole car mission, just the aspect of being able to skitch onto the back of the car as it drives or racing around even if you weren't actually able to cross the bridge, either way insane stuff.
The hardest part is actually getting the feel and control of the skater and the tricks right ! To me,the game series peaked with thug. Loved the passion to detail in your video man! 🔥🤟🏻
THUG, THUG2 and THAW dominated my early pre-teen and teen years. Shame nothing has been done for them officially over the years, but what you've done looks pretty amazing. Hope you continue to do this great game the service it deserves.

U have no idea how cool this is for someone like me. I was very much involved in the small community u mentioned. Small but mighty we were. Such a unreal time growing playing these online.
Using the default character is actual crazy. Some of my favorite memories with this game were spending tons of time designing the main character to look as much like me as possible and since I looked and dressed liked a stereotypical 2000s skater already I was able to get it pretty damn close. The player customization in THUG was amazing for its time ❤. Easily was my favorite game of my childhood.
This game was a massive part of my childhood, I wish we could get it at the highest graphics possible. I want the old skating style but everything else redone in UE5
I salute you. As a fan of the series and game dev myself i appreciate the effort you put into it. I know it wasn't easy even if you knew what you were doing. Underground 2 is my top 5 tony hawk games. It deserves the HD treatment. The whole UG saga. One day hopefully theyll get there. Activision should then hire you to help out.

My dream is not anymore direct remakes, but take all the best levels from all the games, and put them into a mega big Tony Hawk 6, with a lot of new levels as well.
This is awesome to see, I've put so much time into this game finding glitches, beating it with only 1 ollie on every difficulty, beating it with 5x a presses, etc and it's cool to see it in a new way
All THUG1 maps are done for the THPSPro 8.2 mod for THPS1+2! Looking forward to THUG2 maps and the whole THAW open world and its split maps in the 8.3 update.
If you decide to continue working on this series here’s just a few tips from a fellow game developer my self: 1) Blender: when exporting an fbx you don’t have to use a script to embed the textures, click export fbx, change path mode from auto to copy and click the box right next to it (the box should turn blue after clicking) and that will embed the textures and then you can export, 2) DAZ3D has some pretty good animation packs for skateboarding and I have used daz animations on a mixamo rig before, meaning you can copy the animations from daz and use them on your Steve character, I think I have the animations already and could send them over to you. Anyways just thought I’d leave some tips! Looks good so far, loved this game growing up would love to see a finished remaster
I remember being at my buddies for a birthday sleepover around christmas the year THUG came out. his mom rented THUG and NFSU and that may very well be the only birthday party I can remember so vividly. We beat the game that night 😂 awesome video and an absolute classic game!
I grew up on the Tony Hawks games, and THUG1 was the first one I owned. It has such a strong place in my heart and I always come back to it on my ps2. Absolutely love your video and what you’ve done, would love to see a part 2 with other levels!
