Man those disconnections looked quite strenuous, but I’m sure you saved about $1500 of repair cost that a dealership would charge… thanks for the video
Thanks for making this. So helpful! Can you do a transmission fluid and rear diff oil change video?
Thanks for the video. I bought my replacements at Rock Auto. Their site states single speed transfer case, but they will work on the two speed units. I called the manufacturer and they verified the PNs. These are for the L494 - TRAKMOTIVE RV8017 and RV8020. My symptoms were metallic popping when turning left or right, on both of my L494 models. I also changed my oil with the proper Royal Purple type since I was already working on it also. Make sure to clean the magnetic bolt head from the case.
Very helpful video. Just replaced mine, wouldn’t have done it without watching you do yours. Thanks
Cool 😎
I respect how hard you work. The questions about a torque wrench will keep coming for sure. Great videos !👍
Thank you for this video, very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
This is super important contribution
Hey, welcome back!
Good work bro, keep it going
Great job~~. Super helpful to me~. Thanks..
Good work baro
Good work 👍 thank you 👏
Thks another great vid
Thanks again!
Your work is precise, Can you do a video on replacing the rear hatch struts on a range rover L405? THANKS
Would appreciate more clarity on how to pop the axle out from the retaining clip. Also not to overextend cv joint to make sure it stays together
Bro now my passenger axle went out. It expelled grease all over outside of the boot and only makes a grinding sound when. doing right turns. Also clicking like you mentioned. Thanks for this alex.
✊✊✊
Thanks
I love watching your videos, but I have a question has nothing to do with this video. What is the sensor under the plastic cover on top of engine that says supercharged, mine (one of the cables is cut) and check engine light is on.
Thanks
My 2017 is vibrating from the driver side with 36000 miles only can that be ball join or cv axle. I notice is doing a movement while putting the vehicle in reverse also makes a clunk noice.
Great job, what about the torque specs ?
Hey, alex I've have a telematics issue that say Limited availability. 2017 range rover supercharged
Same model. I think I have a bad wheel bearing , was thinking about disconnect brake calibre and drive shaft , that would allow me to spin the hub without any drag. What do you or any other folks think .?
Please explain what noises, clicking, symptoms that told you that the CV Axle was bad!!
how do you take out the longer end on the other side? do you need to remove the whole knuckle or just the suspension bracket?
Can you share a link for a CV shaft you recommend? I cant find many options online to buy a replacement
Is it necessary to remove the whole drive shaft to replace the outer cv boot?
You do good work! You need some better tools though.
Trying to replace this on a 2016, already replaced them on another RR, this left side appears to be rust welded (axle splines to axle bearing sleeve splines). I am thinking the factory didn’t line the splines. Yours popped out just fine…..
It took some effort tbh
Hard to understand why you don’t use a torque wrench for proper values, at least for the suspension components and axle nut.
Hi,
Thanks for the videos. They are really helpful.
However I need some help. I am desperate.
I have a 2015 l494 3.0 SDV6 and I have a vibration on the steering wheel and sometimes in the seat too.
Happens around 35-50mph and is there around 80, but there I can hear it more than feel it. I have changed the propshaft, both axle shafts and also transfer box. Vibration still there.
With each the axle shaft replaced vibration seems to be smoothen a bit but still there.
Starting uphill only with tires turned out at least more than half way out there is a low crackle sound.
Can it be the front diff? Thet is my last suspect. I fear to change it and still have the vibration.
Thanks.
Do u have factory wheels or rims
@@paulwatson255 yes I do
@@danimager do u have big off market rims or the original aluminum wheels factory wheels on it
Nice video. I would prefer refurbish the genuine axle. It's not difficult, there are plenty of videos, and for sure the quality of the part is much better than the chinese.
Great point!
I have a 17 Land Rover Range Rover I notice to much movement on both front shaft cv axle ! 🙄
Did you have to drain the transmission oil to remove the drive shaft please?
You don't have to
@@Alexfixty Thank you
9:30 Lying underneath the car which is lifted on jack stand, and lowering it meantime - ??? are you mad
Kinda 😏
What was the reason replacing the cv axle
It was making noise while driving and going over bumps
How long did you take to do this? 2hours?
Yeah I would say so
@@Alexfixty Thanks. How’s the Chinese replacement holding up?? Genuine part way too expensive.
Alex just curious bro what you meant about this brand was “poor quality “ what did you not like about it ?
It was clicking sometimes after installing
@@Alexfixty damn dude right after lol 😂 I got an autoZone duralast gold lifetime warranty axle it actually looks like really good quality. I paid 130$ for it instead of 85$ for the cheap junk
Как они все надоели про торк рэнчь и jack stand. Молодец правильно всё делаешь. А то пол часа Ляля а дела ноль. Try to torque a that on the trail. He is showing a real life work or you all think dealer guys really torque stuff? I have every LR known, from defender 110 to Autobiography Black. Never have I torqued anything on them, never had an issue. If you a dumb aßs then go to Toyota. (They never brake, lol)
Sintoms??
Clicking noise under the load(low gear) or at low speeds with wheels turned either side
