The very scale of these buildings & the superb construction of them, now visible after the marble & reusuables were removed. What accomplished architects they must have had. For just one day in ancient Rome.
The Baths of Caracalla are so beautiful. Rome is such a beautiful city and the Romans were capable of building many buildings that are still standing today unlike the rubbish which I see in my hometown Ottawa. I would love to see Rome again considering that I earned both my BA in Classics and MA in Classical Studies and I am familiar with Roman history now. I went to see the baths of Caracalla as a kid in the late 1980s, but I did not know any Roman history then.
Thank you very much for your trenchant and sympathic comment! You are right, the architecture of the classic Roma is very impressive, but it also shows that even the biggest empires were brocken down. The baths of Caracalla are also a symbol for deforestation in southern Europe. Ottawa is a beautiful city too and the modern architecture is in Roma the same today :-) Best wishes and have a wonderful weekend!
Should recreate a modern one. With all the bells and whistles of the old but with modern amenities too like a retractable roof and different heating systems for the water
Italy blocked McDonald’s from opening next to the 1,800-Year-Old Baths of Caracalla ruins. Guess why. It is because the Italians don't want McDonald's to ruin it for them. Get it!!!!!!!!!!

0:48 Why would people destroy a mosaic of this quality??? I don't understand.
Maybe it has been the time! This fragments are two thousand years old! That's why they're so impressive! All the best and a Happy New Year!
