It's sad to see the prices for tourists, normally a latte macchiato 2.5€ croissant 1.5€ sandwich 2.5€, exaggerated, but the fact that you always show everything in the videos will be helpful for other tourists. Thanks for your always inspiring videos, I'm Italian and I saw this just out of curiosity :D
Rome is such an awesome city to walk around. When I was there in 96 I started my walk at the Spanish steps and we just found every famous building one after the other, no need for any maps at all!! The hardest part is not going into every gelato shop you see!! Happy Travels
I just stayed at the hotel across from the Pantheon our window shutter opened up to the Pantheon and fountain it was amazing…I visited Rome in January it’s a beautiful city…have fun..your video is so clear it’s like I’m right there with you both…best you tubers ever❤
I enjoyed your video as always. At 14:45 you didn’t mention the oculus in the Pantheon, it’s the 27 feet wide opening in the roof. With the dome it’s the most remarkable feature of the building in my opinion.
Simply enchanting! ✨ Rome looks more magical than I ever imagined. Your enthusiasm and detailed itinerary make me want to book my flight right now. The information about the Trevi Fountain's history and the amazing views of the Vatican are so inspiring. Grazie mille! ❤
Wow, Rome looks amazing! Just like you, I was blown away by all the history everywhere you turn. The fountains were incredible, especially Trevi, and the Colosseum is just amazing that it's still standing after all this time. Can't wait to hear about your Vatican visit too!
I love Italy so much! Glad you guys made it to Rome. The entire city, like much of the country is an open air museum…so much beauty and history around every corner! ❤
18:29 Perhaps it should be mentioned that only outside Italy they are known as “Spanish Steps”, but in Rome or in Italy in general, they are called……“Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti”. No Italian would say “Spanish Steps” (Scalinata di Spagna). 😊
If you are still in Rome please take a stroll along the Via Giulia one of the most lovely streets in the city. Wonderful cross section of Roman life - students going to school, priests, artists, restaurants, and some wonderful architecture. Michelangelos ivy covered arch as a a grand entryway to the street…such a beautiful walk. And don’t miss the Musei Capitolini, beautiful and intimate - you can walk through and descend to the crypt which leads to one of the most wonderful panoramic views of the forum… Love the videos!
I love Italy, every city is gorgeous, so much ancient history, the beautiful language and the most delicious food and coffee! the fashions, absolutely everything in Italy is fantastic.
Bom dia! I spent a week in Rome in April. Stayed at Piazza de Spagna. It is called the Spanish Steps because the Spanish Embassy is located at the bottom of the steps (to the right as you are facing the steps). The news crew you mentioned was at the Italian Parliament building.
Wow! Completing and visiting ALL 7 Wonders of the World!!! Congratulations and thank you again for an amazing tour of Rome. Also, thankfully we have @youtube now to get entertainment. We are no longer fighting for our lives like Russell Crowe - Gladiator :) Watching from NYC! Cheers!!! :)
woowww! Having visited all the seven wonders of the world is amazing @jumpingplaces, especially for a travel vlogger like me! What's your favourite among the 7 though? 👀
24:38 When you visit a city as historic and important as Rome, you obviously have to inform yourself about what is involved in the history of ancient Rome in order to better understand the things you see. And you, I see that you are well informed. 😊
ENJOY! The ancient ruins are amazing and the best thing I've done in my life was a guided bike tour of Rome, daylight, twilight and after sunset! Hope you can try it. Love your channel(and Carol's dimples) 🙂
11:00 Of course ! They are all Italian names ! (Espresso, Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato, Latte, etc.). They are all names related to the culture of drinking Italian coffee drinks that are famous all over the world. And it is also right that these names remain original Italian names throughout the world. Ciao ! 🇮🇹 🤗👋
Italy! Amazing everything! In Rome you are never alone but that is Rome. You found your dogs. Such an amazing living, historic city. Thanks always for sharing your life and travels.
I found your channel when doing research for Morocco. I'm so happy to see Carol still wearing the scarf she bought there (or at least I think it's still the same one) 😊 Thank you so much for this informative tour ❤
29:50 A Pizza Margherita usually costs as much as 5 euros in Italy, but in tourist places, in pizzerias where many tourists go, you find all other prices !
Rome was really impressive. I went twice before I started to create travel vlogs really everywhere you look is just so dramatic. I would like to spend more time there roaming no pun intended. When I was younger I walked from the vatican area almost to the train station. I was not able to find a hostel and I couldn’t find a cab late at night. Finally I got a cab and a hotel super late at night and slept a couple of hours before getting back up to go see the sights. I had a lot of self reflection that night walking alone in the dark.
So now I can cross off another "bucket list" place since you folks provided me an excellent tour. Thanks for sharing your adventures to places I'll never see. ❤
Thanks for showing one of my fave spots in Rome- the base of the Spanish Steps! Since it's about halfway between the Forum and the Vatican, this became a very popular address for English expats from the late 1700's to the First World War- and John Keats (1795-1821) spent his last few months in the top floor of the house immediately on the righthand side looking up the steps. Even though he was totally shut off from the outside world due to his fatal, incurable TB, from his sickroom he got to hear the bustling of the marketplace that in the Piazza de Spagna below AND he was fascinated hearing the playing of the Fontana della Barcacilla - (fountain of the little boat) which, according to legend, was carved in the shape of a little boat after the 1598 flood of the Tiber River swept a small boat into the Piazza. Oh, and on the left side is Babbington's Tea Room (an English tea room that's been in business since 1893 after a pair of women tourists from Great Britain and New Zealand founded it after being upset at the scarcity of tea in Rome back then). Anyway, you sure have found some great spots in Rome and it's great you went at a relatively quiet time in good weather. Beautiful video as always! Thanks!
Great video, we were there 13 years ago, and I know what you mean about intense. I see you are doing Croatia next; you'll love it. We just returned a couple days ago from a week sailing from Split to Dubrovnik. Looking forward to seeing your videos from there. Keep up your good work and safe travels Richard and Carmen
Thank you! Great video! I gtew up in Rome; lived there for 5 years and it was wonderful to be a teenager exposed to all the history. I really enjoy all your videos.😊
Can you guys make a video on how to choose good accommodation, especially 1-3 months if you ever stayed that long in one place, how do you find good flights? Which platforms do you use(airbnb, booking, etc) tips on how to negotiate prices, etc
everything is restored, maintenance is important, but the dome of the pantheon is original Roman and is 2000 years old, it only had a few cracks in 1900, easy to fix; still today the largest dome in the world entirely of unreinforced concrete
The visual are excellent and the music is not an annoying tech beat so that’s refreshing. However, it’s not really a guide because the guides clearly don’t know the history of what they’re looking at. There’s too much speculation about everything rather than knowing what they’re looking at. The woman was listening to a Rick Steves audio guide so she could learn what they were looking at. The couple needed to do their homework and write a script that doesn’t need to be followed closely but helps them when they don’t know what to say. Once again, the camera work and music was great.
Love this video as Roma is one of my top 5 favorite cities. You will enjoy your next visit to Roma even more now that you got the tourist sites out of the way. The Colosseum is spectacular and even more so when you learn it once had a retractable roof. Next time you visit Roma however, explore some or all of the its 22 districts. Each one has hundreds of fabulous streets to wander and countless restaurants. My favorite neighborhood to visit is Trastevere. Also make sure you catch the Colosseum at night when it’s all lite up. Safe travels 😊
Those were definitely “tourist” prices. My recommendations include: Pizza with Nutella. Any smaller pizzeria will make it for you. It’s just the hot dough fresh out of the oven topped with Nutella (incredible) There is a chain of eateries called “Frontonis”. Must try the “pizza sandwich” that you pay based on the weight you want. I always go for prosciutto piu mozzarella di buffalo with spinach. I would also try just a fresh ball of mozzarella di buffalo and Spaghetti a la carbonara which is a typical, simple dish but full of flavor. Just amazing! Ciao!
I stayed in that hotel by the Pantheon. Had a little balcony. Looked like you could touch the Pantheon. Looked down over the piazza. Just amazing. I think it was around 400 USD, so not that crazy.
Hey guys, love your Rome video. Dunno if you have time or plans but try to visit Sardinia and see how do the beaches compare to the other beaches you have visited! You'll be blown away! Enjoy!😮
Great video - I saw these places about 4 years ago - for the budget conscious travelers, getting a slice of pizza inside the shopping mall kiosks is about 2 Euros rather than 12 euro full pizza which is good for a family of 4

Very impressive! You would need several SD cards to capture it all, it’s literally a walking history book wherever you turn.

@1ShotTravel 7 wonders is just a myth. There are more architectural Marvels in the world which didn't get a place in this list.
Rome has a distinctive culture, history and architecture as well, Chris and Carol!
The most beautiful city in the world!! have many times and still dont know enough!!
True, true and true in all aspects.
Can see why you think that, might be the best capital that we have visited :D
We visited Rome a couple of years ago, so it was wonderful to watch your video and reminisce about our trip. Great video of a beautiful city!
