A beautiful stunning historic site. Whilst watching this it looked familiar like i had watched it in a movie or read about it in a book. My eyes grew enormous as i suddenly remembered i have actually visited here walked around this site when i was at University on a residential visit in late 90s. I remember it took hours and we were tired but in total awe. I think it was 3 different distinct cultures that contributed and were represented in the architecture of the building and i looked around at my peers and saw all these different cultures together peacefully harmoniously taking it all in. The tour guide talked of the wars and conflicts these cultures endured but a whole undeniable cultural history exists within those wall that tell a fantastic story. The memories are flooding back now. Thank you very much for posting.

ironically today you rarely find new building with such level of detail....i think mostly because the architects today are not as imaginative and more lazy, it takes longer to design building with such intricate of detail on computer

Thank you for uploading such amazing videography of this great wonder. The decline of the muslims era was so heartbreaking to learn. Hats off to the Spanish people for preserving it, can not help but wonder were all the rooms empty with no furniture at all.? All but remains is the architecture. I guess the almighty works in amazing ways for leaving it bare, as on the inscription of each wall in arabic means 'dominance is only for the sake of Allah'... great but sad reminder for all the muslims and the state they are in today. Sure, but the palace's architecture (and that of alcazar) is heavily inspired by moroccan architecture in Fes. Mohammed the fifth of Granada sought refuge under the Marinid dynasty in Fes during a military coup in Granada. He brought a polymath with him who was an architect as well. I forgot his name. While he was in Fes he saw the architecture and was mesmerized and used that as an inspiration source for alhambra and alcazar (for king Peter of Castille) when he managed to gain back control over his kingdom.

I been there and visited Alhambra Palace few years ago, beautiful place to visit and explore, one day is not enough to be able to enjoy the whole area. I would love to go there again sometime.

ironically today you rarely find new building with such level of detail....i think mostly because the architects today are not as imaginative and more lazy, it takes longer to design building with such intricate of detail on computer

Thank you for uploading such amazing videography of this great wonder. The decline of the muslims era was so heartbreaking to learn. Hats off to the Spanish people for preserving it, can not help but wonder were all the rooms empty with no furniture at all.? All but remains is the architecture. I guess the almighty works in amazing ways for leaving it bare, as on the inscription of each wall in arabic means 'dominance is only for the sake of Allah'... great but sad reminder for all the muslims and the state they are in today. Peace to all! x
I read Spanish history of muslims in my student life 30 years ago. Now with the blessing of this documentary I witnessed this glory. Truly those Muslims were torch bearers of modern sciences and great benefactors of human beings .We are proud of them.

This palace was built by the Nasirid Arab dynasty, not by Berbers.
Berbers were only Al Mohads & AlMoravids who only ruled for less than 200 year.
Sure, but the palace's architecture (and that of alcazar) is heavily inspired by moroccan architecture in Fes. Mohammed the fifth of Granada sought refuge under the Marinid dynasty in Fes during a military coup in Granada. He brought a polymath with him who was an architect as well. I forgot his name.
While he was in Fes he saw the architecture and was mesmerized and used that as an inspiration source for alhambra and alcazar (for king Peter of Castille) when he managed to gain back control over his kingdom.
@@saraqostahterra4548 not true. The Moroccans themselves brought people form Iberia to build them stuff, when Almohads ruled they brought people from Iberia to do the architecture for them. There is nothing in Morocco that even comes close to this cuz most of these are actually newer than in Alhambra 😂.

Our culture is by default Andalusian culture because that's where we originally descent from. And here you're telling me there's nothing in Morocco that comes close to this? Subhan'Allah...
