Shouldn't there be a lint trap at the discharge end of the hose to catch all the lint when the water is being emptied? You never said where the washing machine lint trap is located.

Washing machines do have a lint trap but the location varies by make and model number. To locate your lint trap, search your make and model number on the internet and you should find the information for your particular washer.
