I'm sorry but I just love the couple and the way they interact with each other. They are adorable and they are great at explaining the stories behind why they chose how to organize their things.. I'm just enjoying listening to them and their future plans on what they may be adding there. I mean who WOULDN'T want to visit them and be their friend.
Thank you Rachel! We're enjoying seeing these comments. I think I need to learn to watch you tube in another way. I find myself on "how to" videos more than anything. I need to find some people we can connect with the way you have with us. Merci!
Thank you so very much for the feedback! We're new at this, but I'd have to say that we definitely try to keep it real, so I'm happy to hear that is coming through.
I'm going to bookmark this video! We're moving from a 1600 sf house to an apartment in San Francisco. The same apartment I lived in as a single woman quite comfortably (20 years ago). Since then I've accumulated a lot of stuff, and a husband. Your video has made me feel more confident that we'll have plenty of room, hopefully with a bit of your style/organization as well. Thanks for the tour, hope you and your furry family are all doing well.
Thank you for watching and best of luck on your downsizing. You can do it!!! We're searching for a new apt. now with a 2nd bedroom to have an office, so make sure your subscribed so you can follow that journey! Merci!
The reason why you have to store eggs in a fridge in the US is because they are washed, and stripped of the natural protective layer that allows you to store them in room temperature here, in France. Eggs aren’t washed in Europe. After they’re laid, not hatched 🐣 You guys are great with storage ideas!!! Greetings from Metz!
So sweet! Thank you! We realized before going to the one bedroom that we're always near one another anyway, so we thought we could handle it. So far, so good - even after a couple confinements. :P
I absolutely loved your friendly and delightful video! Your home is beautiful and you have been so clever and inventive with everything, so that it looks really quite spacious! I love your gorgeous dog and cat too, they look perfectly content and obviously adore you both! I am a little obsessed with all things Paris, even though I'm now a senior lady, my only, very brief visit was when I was 19 and a nanny for the daughter of a British titled lady. I had to accompany the child from UK to my employer's second home in the Normandy countryside, for a 3 week stay. We had a short time in Paris en route, just enough to take my photo of the Eiffel Tower etc. I was so looking to a very long awaited return two weeks ago, which very sadly had to be cancelled due to travel regs. I was also hoping to go next March to celebrate a milestone birthday, but here in UK, things are escalating health wise, so it may not even be possible then. I so envy you, being able to enjoy everything that beautiful Paris offers, especially during the festive season. Have a wonderful Christmas! Best wishes from UK.
Thank you so much! You are very kind! And I can feel your love of Paris in your words. Travel is so complicated at the moment. I do hope your trip will eventually pan out. I have a milestone birthday coming up in January as well and we were hoping to take our first larger trip post-covid, but it looks like we will postpone a bit as well. We're doing our best to capture some festive Paris scenes this week before we depart to the U.S. for the holidays. Stay tuned! I'm hoping we will have time to post a video here on our channel. Thank you again for taking the time to stop by and leave us a comment, it means a lot! Crossing my fingers your trip will work out later. Happy Holidays!!
Thank you for a wonderful tour. I particularly loved how you use space and the ingenious tricks you use to maximize it. The apartment, in spite of its tiny size, is very cozy and inviting.
Thank you, that's so lovely to hear. We thought we were only coming for 1-2 years, but here we are coming up on our 6th year! I hope if you take the leap that you love it just as much! It's a lot of work, but so far it's been totally worth it. Bon courage!
Merci for watching and commenting! It does get a little cramped from time to time with the 2 fur babies but they are great company! But stay tuned because we are trying to find a larger place this summer so there will be a new apt. tour hopefully soon!
Nice space to live in. I like the idea of the dog crate covered with a table top and used as a bedside table. Cute that the dog and cat both like the crate. Paris has such beautiful architecture. Thank you for the video.
Thank you! We saw something like that a long time ago and it was very nice, so we improvised and made our own so that it would fit in our space. Paris has definitely become one of (if not the most) beautiful cities in the world. As I travel more, I understand why people always say this about Paris.
You guys have done a fantastic job in making your small space!!! 👏 I totally can downsize. In 34 days, Hubby and I are going from a 1bdrm (650 sq feet) to a Studio (400 sq feet). We are SO EXCITED!!! 😊😊😊
Loved this tour! You have a lovely apartment, and the sofa skirt idea is genius. The cat and dog are adorable and so are the two of you. So glad I watched.
I love you guys you're such a beautiful couple and your home is humble and peaceful and you got love for each other and that is all that matters stay true May God bless you always with love
Lovely appartment, balcony is def an added bonus. I wouldn't be able to live in appartment without a balcony. We are lucky to have two. One facing south so I have all my raised veg beds and herbs there and also washing lines to dry our laundry in summer. Try a laundry rack, will save you going to the laundry and there is nothing better then fresh sun dried sheets on your bed... Lovely whippet ❤, a bit on a big side isn't he ...
Thank you! We do have a laundry rack that we use on the regular, but I'm not sure they allow it on our balcony unless I make it more privatized to the neighbors across from us. I have a feeling someone may complain, or it may be in the rules. That would be nice though! And yes, our pup is definitely on the bigger side as far as Whippets go - most people thing he is a Greyhound. :p
@@LamourdeParisPhotographers oh dear, haven't thought about that. That could be an issue. We don't have these problems but I know there are some newer neighbourhoods even here with some rather silly rules. Anyway betrer ask firstl . .btw, I really don't know why drying washing would bother anyone, but yeah....
I also live in a tiny house. This video is very helpful for me. Thanks so much. Love this video.... In addition, you both are a beautiful couple. Your pets are also lovely 👍👍🥰
Hi lovely couple!!! I’m originally from Lafayette Louisiana and have to have my Tony and Emerils seasonings to . I now reside in Texas but wishing I can move to France. I’ve once lived there between that and Germany but anyway long story short.. I have a lot of memories and want to move there one day. Have a blessed weekend my darlings. Au Revoir 👌🏾⚜️🖤⚜️🖤
Thank you Lisa. Paris is so beautiful! I was somehow a master packer again this morning putting together the puzzle of Christmas decorations as I tried to make room for a few new extra items we acquired this season. Somehow I succeeded! Shew! ;)
I'm amazed at the bathrooms that are in different countries are always in the bedroom .. and never seems to be a bathroom in the hallway for when you have company they literally have to go through your bedroom to get to the bathroom but all-in-all your place is beautiful.. and if you're happy I'm happy for you.. oh yeah I don't think I could live without central air lol
Hi there and thanks for watching! The toilet room is almost always separate from the bath/shower room in France, as it is in ours. The only time people have to go in our bedroom is if they're showering :) And yeah, the struggle with missing central air is real for about 3 weeks out of the year, but the rest of the time it's actually quite nice to always have the terrasse doors open :)
You're both wonderful and loved your apartment tour. Tony Chachere's is also my go to. I had a boyfriend from Louisiana 20 years ago and this seasoning has been my go to ever since
We must not have needed the air running that day. Normally we only use it while we are sleeping at night, but there's almost always one harsh "canicule" heatwave to come through where we need it on during the day in our living room too.
Enjoyed your vlog very beautiful home small detailing like your work space and your adorable dog and the cat Truly you have everything for a perfect Home Loved this
Really enjoyed this vlog. You are such lovely people. Definitely a place for everything and everything in its place method works! It just shows what you actually do need every day and how we can so easily build up our stuff. I’ve learned too how to get clever but good to look at storage as this in itself becomes an ornament. Thank you for sharing your lovely home and pets! ..with us. 🦋
Thank you Helen for your lovely feedback! It means a lot. It's feeling like it's time for another good spring cleaning around here soon. :) Any other Paris topics you'd like to see?
@@LamourdeParisPhotographers you’re very welcome. Would love to see any Cafes in Paris always interested in their decor, and get inspired by outdoor decor that people have outside their buildings or homes. 🦋
@@helensmith3214 perfect! I'll keep this in mind as we are out and about, but I also have a video ready of one of our favorite restaurants that is so charming. I'll be sharing it sometime soon. The restaurant is Au Vieux Paris.
It’s a lovely apartment. For my personal taste, I wouldn’t have the greenery on the living room wall, but other than that I love your decor. You’ve made an excellent use of the space. Cute dog too!
Thank you!! I'm not sure the greenery part is our first preference either, but it's the lightest material we could find to hang and hide the window panes. For now it works. Maybe we will come up with another idea later. Pup says thank you too!
Thanks for the share - it's a lovely apartment, and well laid out. I also lived in a small 425sq ft apartment some years back. One of the things that made it easier was the fact that the bedroom and bathroom were seperate, just as yours are, although my bathroom was all in one room - sorry, guys! I loved it, though. I have a larger condo, now, but I love all that you can accomplish in small spaces. Thank you, again! :)
Very nice how you can live in small apt.in Paris.I heard Paris rent apt is very expensive..If both are happy living an small space has a plus..Enjoy the nice view and the cute dog...Txs for sharing !
It's not too bad, we really love living in the city, and we loooovee the balcony. I do miss our old 2nd bedroom we used to have. Rent in Paris is sooo much better than in NYC for example. It is expensive, but nothing like there, so we consider ourselves fortunate. Thank you for your comments!
Lovely!!! Thank you for sharing. I would change one thing though, lose the microwave, put the oven there, and use the space the oven is now for a dishwasher 😊 other than that, perfect 👏👍
@@LamourdeParisPhotographers I understand! Another thing I might think of would be (really trying to give you a dishwasher lol) installing shelves in that nook in the bathroom left of the sink. That would host what is in the cabinet under the sink which would go, leaving space for the washing machine there, and room for the dishwasher in the kitchen. Easier said than done I know, but I am so happy with a dishwasher now i would fit it anywhere if possible 😅
First you mentioned Tony C's seasoning, then Emeril....I said they must be from New Orleans and sure enough. It's definitely easier to adapt there coming from N.O. since so many similarities in architecture.
Aww! Thank you Lisa! You're making us blush, lol! We're gearing up for Spring in Paris, let us know if there's something else Parisian you'd love to see!
Thank you! The wall sconce/candelabra was one of our first French purchases at the Marche aux puces. A huge mirror would be lovely too, I just don't know where it would go in this apartment. Hmmm....
Thank you so much for sharing your lovely apartment with us. I love it. I currently live in a 550 sq ft apartment right next to a river park in my city and I love the small space so it lets me know I would be just fine living in Paris. The only question I have is how much is your rent?
Thank you! Oh how I would love that additional 150 sq feet. :) I agree, you'd be just fine here. 1 Bedrooms around the size of our place go for somewhere around 1500€ give or take. And 2 bedrooms of about 45m would be more around 1800€ or more.
Hello from Greece. I think you have done a great job with your limited space, even though you are not used to living in a small apartment. You seem to be lovely people and love the life you live. I would like to point out one thing to you. It has to do with my country's flag in your bathroom. Any nation's flag is considered a symbol of high importance and represents some of the values of their people. They should all be respected by everyone like their own. The Greek flag especially embeds a very important value between it's stripes, that goes back 200 years in history, when the Greek revolution to free the nation from the Ottoman empire's 400 years occupation, begun. It has 9 blue and white horizontal stripes (blue for the sea and white for the land), as many as the syllables of the phrase: "eleftheria e thanatos" , meaning "freedom or death", which was the main quote that inspired the people to fight for their freedom. We are very proud of our flag and it's history , as I am sure you are of your country's flag. A flag's place is on a pole where it can wave by the wind, on a wall, a window where it can be seen or in some kind of storage. It is NOT just another random piece of fabric and cannot certainly be mistreated as one. I cannot understand why anyone would put a national flag in a bathroom over the toilet, insulting a whole nation and it's history like that. How would you feel if you saw your country's flag in someone's bathroom, over the "poop hole"? You seem like nice people but, as a Greek , I feel offended.
Oh no! Thank you for sharing your perspective Vicky. And I'm happy you can see we are lovely people bc we certainly meant no ill-intent. As you can see, there's very limited space in our apartment for hanging things, and in our old apartment we had it on a wall actually. It is a flag that flew on our boat on our catamaran trip in Greece with two of our best friends just before covid. At the end of our journey, we asked our Captain, Stelios, if we could perhaps have it. It's honestly my favorite trip we have taken, one of my favorite souvenirs, and I have so many wonderful, beautiful, authentic Greek memories from the trip. So in fact, even though I agree it may seem an awkward place, the bathroom is a place I visit several times a day ;P and it does give me great joy when I see it. I was just thinking the other day how much the flag meant to me. In the bathroom there's also a photo from New Orleans where we were married - a print left to us by a friend. Again, it seems a weird space, but simply available wall space to enjoy items that do mean a lot to us.
Ohhh, yes, some of our friends have felt that way as well. I don't think it's bothered us too much from the start. The pets definitely had their moments where they had to build up the courage to walk naturally out there. Now I've seen them both poke their heads through the rails on occasion which still makes me nervous! :O
thank you for sharing I just found your chanel, I like your apartment and all the windows and balcony! Was it expensive? and how good is the location? who helped you to find it? I am thinking to move and I appreciate all the information you can offer. Thanks
Bonjour! This apt. is €1500 and for us the location is good. One metro line or bus to the Eiffel Tower, a nice residential area, grocery stores very close by and a fresh market 3 days a week. We found it ourselves using a few different websites. We are currently looking for a new apartment and the app we've found to work best is called Jinka, but we've also just hired a house hunter to help. We'll be posting a video soon documenting our search experience so subscribe to be notified! Merci!
I stumbled across your UA-cam. Thank You for sharing ❤ I love ❤️ Paris ! Was wondering how much is such apt in Paris ? Just curious? I live now in 700 sqft apt , with my 2 cats nd I feel it’s small to me , so I can’t imagine living in 440 sqft? 🤦♀️🤷♀️ Hello from New York upstate 🌲
Hi Trish, ours is €1500 but if it were a different part of Paris it could be a bit less or quite a bit more. We're currently looking for a new apt. with a 2nd bedroom so around 6-700 sqft. and our budget is €2-2300 and unfortunately we're seeing a lot closer to €2500-2700. But we have friends with places that size or larger just on the outskirts of Paris that pay much less. Location location location! It's like living in Manhattan vs. Brooklyn :)
Indeed, it can be. We moved a bit further out near the peripherique, so prices are a bit better than our first place. But there is always the classic debate of which is nicer bw the 7th arrondissement and the 16th. I'll say the 16th. ;)
I think we have found the family that the book one hundred and one dalmations was written about. i dont know how that could have happened. cause the movie came out before yall got married. and probably before yall were born. i totally believe it though.
Sorry. Thon and thym are not pronounced the same. On is o through the nose, while ym=in=un and it is i or u through the nose (not exactly the same sound, but a lot of French can't tell the difference anymore than they can tell the difference between e or a through the nose). I hope that helps with the menu ambiguities :)
Lol! Yes, our understanding of these two words are much better now as well since the time of filming. But initially so many things sound the same. And there are still days that I'm like, "wait, but this is this, but this sounds just like that and is totally different!" Figuring it out one day at a time! :)
@@LamourdeParisPhotographers yes, I can relate to that! I lived abroad too. There is a stage in a poorly understood foreign language where everything is "mashed potatoes", and then sounds and shapes emerge. Good luck and I hope you have a great time. Your apartment is lovely, small but perfectly formed!
Hi Christy thanks for watching! If we still lived in New Orleans we'd definitely need central air, but here in Paris we really only need it about 3 weeks during the summer and we have a portable unit we use to get us throughs those times, along with about 3 cold showers a day :)
Hi there! We don't think the tour was irrelevant at all, but sorry you feel that way. It wasn't meant to be a tour to rent the apt. out, but more to show people what life is like in Paris in our apt. It's like watching house hunters on tv where they show million dollar listings. That's probably unaffordable for most but people still like to see different lifestyles and homes. That being said, our new video series that we just started to publish takes our viewers on the hunt for a new apartment and we share all the details of pricing, square footage, etc. so maybe that video and series will be more enjoyable for you. Thanks for watching!
Bonjour! Thanks for the tip! We're headed to French language school for 5 weeks in the Fall, so hopefully our French will be un peu mieux after that! Merci!
Thank you!! I'm not sure if you caught it in the video, I think we mentioned it, but the greenery was a solution to cover 6 glass panels that look into our bedroom. Plus each glass panel has a glossy 3-4 inch black border around it. It was an open hole when we viewed the place, we had no idea it would look the way it did. When we walked into the apt on move day, my husband and I both agreed we did NOT like it right away. We had to get super creative for a solution to hide it, but still be functional. It was difficult since we couldn't drill into the wall since it's glass behind it, etc. For now this is what we came up with it. It's not perfect, but it will do. If you happen to have an eye for interior design and have another thought for us, we're all ears. :)
@@LamourdeParisPhotographers, goodness I never thought you would respond so quickly to my comment. Frankly I never thought you would respond at all...it was only a generalized comment. You guys are living your best life! Merci
You seem like a really nice guy but eggs aren’t dated by when they were hatched as “hatched” means when the chick came out of the egg. What I think you mean was the day is was “laid”.
Haha! That's what happend with unscripted, real world videos. :) If only we could go back now, I'd add a cute little chick hatching with the addendum that he meant laid. Lol!
Indeed! It's fun to see our progress with French since we filmed the video. But on the surface when you are learning, so many things sound the same, especially when spoken fast, but those subtle vowel sounds definitely make a difference around here. :)
@@LamourdeParisPhotographers It's even more difficult when you come across of different words with different meanings but the pronounciation is the same: le vers/ le ver/ le vert/le verre 😂 Bonne journée a vous!
@@katja6228 hahahha! 1000% agree!! Just when we get the hang of things, something like that pops up or an "une exception" as we learn grammar rules. Maybe someday we will be more fluent. Our comprehension has increased greatly, but speaking certainly still comes with challenges. -- Thank you! Bonne journée to you too!
Haha, this made me giggle! My husband and I are both very strong, independent individuals, I assure you we share control at different times. ;) As for our cat, he always looks like a grumpy little fella. The crate is not his, but our dogs space, as many dogs are crate trained. Our pup generally only spends the night in there, but our cat makes it his comfy palace by day, not wanting to share with his canine companion.
Lol - to each his own regarding pups. It's the only dog I've ever had, and whippets are known for their cuddly nature and the ability to use pillows the same way us humans do. Tiny apartment would mean he had even less space if we didn't share our furniture space with him too. We wipe his paws each time we come back in from a walk. Glad you like our apartment!
Loved your tour. My husband and I are considering moving to Paris. Do you worry about your cat on the terrace? We have two cats so that’s a concern for us. Thank you for sharing your space.
Hi Tina, Paris is a lovely place to live! We're not considered about this cat, but another cat we had we were definitely worried so we brought him back to the US to live with my mom. He was deaf and a daredevil. The cat we have here is a bonafide scaredy cat :) Thanks for watching!
I live in a 1 bedroom apartment. And I too use the bath tub to wash containers, the fridge/freezer drawers, etc,. We stopped using the oven and use it as storage for pots and pans, purchased an air fryer, it is so cheaper to run and easier to clean. We are Vegan/Vegetarian, so no need to cook a turkey!
Thank you! :) I know we considered a curtain rod early on in our time in France, but eventually we just adopted the French lifestyle on that one. I feel like it would end up making the space feel smaller. Thankfully I've stopped flooding the floor and know how to turn and move now. Haha!
You both are adorable! I enjoyed the tour and tips for decorating. I am moving to Paris in March. My daughter, my granddaughter and my son-in-law live there and I am so excited to be near them in the city I love! Thank you for an interesting and sweetly humorous video!
Thank you Ronnie! We have lots of plans for more Paris videos - hopefully how to make vin chaud and some French holiday treats soon! Just to find the time to make them! So very appreciative of your feedback though!
This was well-done in a relaxed fashion and informative. My only suggestion is to get rid of the huge plastic boxwood frame in the living room and simply install a 4 x 6 painted sheet of dry wall or plywood. I had to laugh because I kept the two Cajun seasonings in my cabinet in Prague. and kept Hungarian smoky paprika in the US kitchen. The lovely wife needs to have some voice training to cure the ''tight/scratchy throat,'' and be aware of her constant ''upspeaking'' at the end of sentences. Both are annoying over time. Otherwise, merci and all the best.
Thanks for the feedback Carol. Amazing how we become so attached to our spices. The cutout area in the living room is larger than 4x6 -- unfortunately we rent and don't own -- so for now we feel this is the best solution. I hope to take singing lessons, maybe that will cure the upswing in my voice and maybe not. ;) The French actually speak in a sing-song way sometimes, so maybe I'm assimilating more than I realize. Lol. And it's also a bit of nerves from being recorded I'm sure. I also tend to be a generally happy person so it may come out that way on video via my voice. idk. I'll keep this in mind the next time we record -- but I'm not going to let it get too much in my head and stress me out bc I just want to be me at the end of the day.
So glad you are settling in. May I make a few observations. In every room and storage content there was a mix of items, dishes, books, booze, documents, stuff etc. Try and reconfigure your storage by type. Your booze in the kitchen unit can be in the sitting room cupboard. You dont necessarily need the pass through the 'oven' could go there with a drinks inshot from the sitting room side behind it. Alternatively a full oven could go under hob by changing carcass. Indeed if you are staying there long enough redo kitchen with upper units full height and mount oven and microwave at eyelevel to right of hob with deep lower drawers for all pots n crocks n gadgets which appear to be everywhere else. Mini Dishwasher under hob where existing oven is. You can find a lovely spice rack free standing on hob which you only have to move when cooking giving more room for the dishes stored elsewhere. I am surprised washer dryer in kitchen in France, more usually installed in bathroom. As I say collate all same and similar items in same location and design storage around achieving that. Storing in plain sight decoratively is also a great trick of the trade. IKEA has many open frame structures to make full use of volume, particularly height and cute little steps to access less frequently used items when needed. So instead of making do. Have a complete rethink. Collate all items which should be to hand and grouped and then see how to house them together, working your way through the house. Like bad weather is resolved through wearing the right clothing, so too is poor access and retrieval in a limited space resolved by optimum storage and display. If there is anything you really don't need to have to hand (like the unused cook books) send them home to storage. You have the Internet for any recipe you may need. I hope you find this helpful. 🙏
Thank you Ellen for taking the time to share such great advice! If we owned the apartment, we would definitely be working on some more big changes, but there's still room for improvement nonetheless. I have a birthday coming up, and my husband thinks I'm crazy that I've asked for a deep clean/organization session of the apartment. ;p
Such a lovely place! The animal babies just add to it. It feels WAY bigger than 450 square feet, though. Talk about great use of space! My place is 830 and feels like it's not even half the size.
Thank you! They do make it even more cozy -- people are always shocked that we have a cat AND a dog. ;P We used to live in a 2 bdrm condo downtown New Orleans that was about 845 sq ft I want to say, so it was our first lesson in smaller living.
We could, but they just seem to be non-existent over here at every apt. and hotel room. I suppose we could look at the stores to see if they carry them, but we've gotten used to the no curtain shower :) Merci!
Merci! I greatly appreciate the natural light, especially on gloomy days. We left New Orleans for a great opportunity in Paris, and now we haven't been able to leave bc we love it so much. We're back to Nola all the time though for work and to see family/friends.
You’ve made a beautiful home, so warm and well planned out! It’s wonderful how you’ve been able to make space for your dog and kitty as well. I especially love the balcony, such a beautiful outdoor space. Has there been any concern about the kitty having access to the balcony? I would be so afraid that he might try to jump, no??
I love your ideo and have subscribed. The fun of living in Paris and how to downscale and organize AND with pets is amazing and fun! Actually, the two of you are amazing and fun! I'm going to watch this again this evening. Thank you.
Thank you Betsy! You are so kind! We're definitely growing into this apartment...some days I miss that second bedroom. But I'm so thankful for the balcony and the bright light we have on the upper floors.
Thank you very much! I'll have to ask Doug if he has an official recipe for the gumbo. He just made a batch last week for his family in Nola, so it's fresh on his mind.
I just came across your channel & so happy I did. Liked the banter between the two of you. Your apartment is lovely. I downsized from a 1300 sq. foot 2 bedroom suburban home to a 592 sq. foot downtown studio. I took many loved possessions to the auction house but I really wanted the lifestyle change. No regrets with the move. I don’t use a dishwasher so I think it was a smart move to get the washer/dryer combo. Does it not dry well? You’ve done a really great job with the kitchen storage. If you don’t use some of your cookbooks take them to a second hand bookstore. Your chien is precious. Like what you did with the dog crate in the bedroom. You’re all nestled in there together at bedtime. Very nice terrace. I plan to visit Paris once this crazy pandemic is over.
Aww! Thank you so much! You definitely understand! I love the smaller living too, but it's definitely time to do a spring cleaning this coming season. Our dryer dries, but it tends to ruin some pants depending on the material - if it's stretch at all the material turns to cat whiskers. So we usually just air dry or run them to the laundry mat to dry them. Hopefully we'll see you in Paris someday! We look forward to being able to travel more freely again ourselves.

Merci beaucoup! We have been there 3 years...we may move sometime next year! :O To be determined... but another tour if we do!
I have been thinking of moving there myself, your video is inspirational.
Thank you, that's so lovely to hear. We thought we were only coming for 1-2 years, but here we are coming up on our 6th year! I hope if you take the leap that you love it just as much! It's a lot of work, but so far it's been totally worth it. Bon courage!
Your apartment in Paris is way nicer than many in NYC, especially the balcony, for same size place.
Thank you! Yes, we've seen some NYC apartments and are always blown away at how much the rent costs! Pretty happy with our place.
I LOVE that you have two fur friends sharing your Parisian apart :)
Merci for watching and commenting! It does get a little cramped from time to time with the 2 fur babies but they are great company! But stay tuned because we are trying to find a larger place this summer so there will be a new apt. tour hopefully soon!
Love you four and cannot wait to visit!!! The new place is beautiful ❤️
This is now the old place! The new place is a thousand times better!!!! Video on that coming soon!

Love the apartment and the CAT of course!
Thank you Vera!
I liked d bloopers 😂so beautifully done 👍
hehe ;) Thanks! Always good to laugh at ourselves...and we ALWAYS have some of those moments when filming.
That's amazing!! Good Luck! If we didn't have all our camera gear I think we could go smaller too. :)
Thank you!!! 🤗 We are Counting down the days ☺️!!
I love it! I knew just by the seasoning that you guys were either from Louisiana or Texas. Hope you enjoy Paris!
haha! Indeed a dead giveaway! ;) Thank you!!
Loved this tour! You have a lovely apartment, and the sofa skirt idea is genius. The cat and dog are adorable and so are the two of you. So glad I watched.
Oh, thank you so much! You are so sweet! Thanks for stopping by and for taking the time to leave feedback. It's greatly appreciated!

Lovely tiny home! Well thought out. Love the balcony! Thank you for sharing your “family”. ❤️
Thank you Jan! We actually just started looking for a new place so there will be a new video hopefully coming soon! Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for watching and man I miss the boudin from Lafayette!
I can’t help but laugh my sweet friends because my daughter was craving good ole boudin haha.. be blessed darlings
Thanks for tour of your home. Its amazing how homes are so different and compacted. It must be beautiful living there. Enjoy!
Thank you Lisa. Paris is so beautiful! I was somehow a master packer again this morning putting together the puzzle of Christmas decorations as I tried to make room for a few new extra items we acquired this season. Somehow I succeeded! Shew! ;)
I loved it!!
Merci and thank you for watching!
How cute
You both say, Bienvenou. It's beinvenu!
xx
Thanks for watching and commenting! As Americans the accent and accurate pronunciation can be very difficult, but we do our best!
You're both wonderful and loved your apartment tour. Tony Chachere's is also my go to. I had a boyfriend from Louisiana 20 years ago and this seasoning has been my go to ever since
Merci beaucoup - you're so sweet! And I love that you're familiar with Tony's! :) That's awesome!
Nice couple👩❤️👨+🐶😺❤️
Merci!
Love the tour
Thank you so much Sharon! Any other Paris topics you'd love to see featured?
Awww I was expecting the cute cat. I was hoping to see the air cooler.
We must not have needed the air running that day. Normally we only use it while we are sleeping at night, but there's almost always one harsh "canicule" heatwave to come through where we need it on during the day in our living room too.
Absolutely love your home ! I also love your spirit, both of you, thank you for showing us your home ☺️❤️
Merci beaucoup! You are so sweet! :)

Really enjoyed this vlog. You are such lovely people. Definitely a place for everything and everything in its place method works! Merci!!
Check out the new apartment series! Spoiler alert- no more green wall!
Yes, it certainly helps at least having the toilet detached. Thank you for your comment!

Yes! I'm in agreement, I do miss the dishwasher! But I do feel like we utilize the microwave a lot...
Thank you👍
Thank you too
First you mentioned Tony C's seasoning, then Emeril....I said they must be from New Orleans and sure enough. It's definitely easier to adapt there coming from N.O. since so many similarities in architecture.
Haha! Too funny -- those Nola clues! :) And our pets were already named after French Quarter streets too so they were already prepared to be French.
Love u guys 😀
Aww! Thank you Lisa! You're making us blush, lol! We're gearing up for Spring in Paris, let us know if there's something else Parisian you'd love to see!
Lovely flat, I love the wall sconces/candelabra too and you have a bathtub. You bet I could to live in Paris. Have you thought of a huge mirror?🦘🐨🇦🇺
The French language left me with a lot of “but why” type questions, too 😂😂😂
:) So much yes!!
I LOVE YOUR APARTMENT! YOU ARE THE SWEETEST COUPLE!❤
Merci beaucoup! You are soooo sweet! I'm happy you liked it! Hopefully we will see you around here -- and maybe even in Paris!
Thanks for watching!
Love you home! Thanks for sharing! I did get a wee bit nauseous with your balcony tour. Is that something you get used to?
Ohhh, yes, some of our friends have felt that way as well. I don't think it's bothered us too much from the start. The pets definitely had their moments where they had to build up the courage to walk naturally out there. Now I've seen them both poke their heads through the rails on occasion which still makes me nervous! :O
@@LamourdeParisPhotographers Beautifully arranged apartment. Please be careful of your dog and cat on the balcony.

Bonjour! This apt. is €1500 and for us the location is good.
Thank You for sharing ❤
I love ❤️ Paris ! Was wondering how much is such apt in Paris ? Just curious? I live now in 700 sqft apt , with my 2 cats nd I feel it’s small to me , so I can’t imagine living in 440 sqft? 🤦♀️🤷♀️
Hello from New York upstate 🌲
Hi Trish, ours is €1500 but if it were a different part of Paris it could be a bit less or quite a bit more. We're currently looking for a new apt. with a 2nd bedroom so around 6-700 sqft. and our budget is €2-2300 and unfortunately we're seeing a lot closer to €2500-2700. But we have friends with places that size or larger just on the outskirts of Paris that pay much less. Location location location! It's like living in Manhattan vs. Brooklyn :)
Whatttt you live in the 16th ARD? Hahah
I went to paris a few days ago and learned that it’s one of the most expensive places to live in paris
Indeed, it can be. We moved a bit further out near the peripherique, so prices are a bit better than our first place. But there is always the classic debate of which is nicer bw the 7th arrondissement and the 16th. I'll say the 16th. ;)

Hello, would you mind sharing the brand and model of your digital photo frame?
Hi there! It’s by nixplay so it’s connected to the internet and you can share albums with others that have the same frame!
@@LamourdeParisPhotographers thank you!
Thym and thon are not different things with two different pronunciation .
Merci!
The main reason why eggs can be stored outside, because are not washed like in the States, removing a such natural protection.
Yep. That’s correct. I just think my story is more entertaining ;)
Thanks for watching!
Yep...I could do it....with air....
Hi Christy thanks for watching! If we still lived in New Orleans we'd definitely need central air, but here in Paris we really only need it about 3 weeks during the summer and we have a portable unit we use to get us throughs those times, along with about 3 cold showers a day :)
Most important question was left unanswered; what’s the RENT?? If it’s unaffordable for people, that would be a deal breaker and the tour irrelevant.
Je suis francophone et l herbe THYM se prononce like pain 🥪 NOT like thon ..smile
Bonjour! Thanks for the tip! We're headed to French language school for 5 weeks in the Fall, so hopefully our French will be un peu mieux after that! Merci!
Love the photography...but not all that green stuff boarding on the wall.

Lol!
No, the pronounciation of "thym" and "thon" is different.🤣
Hmmm, I've heard such great things about these air fryers, that may be something we need to look into more. Thanks for the idea!
Yes yes yes! This is the reality of living in a Parisian flat, thank you for sharing!
Thank you! It sounds like you understand! :)
Y’all could definitely add a shower curtain with a tension rod! love the apartment tour, so many personal items that hold so many stories!
Thank you! :) I know we considered a curtain rod early on in our time in France, but eventually we just adopted the French lifestyle on that one. I feel like it would end up making the space feel smaller. Thankfully I've stopped flooding the floor and know how to turn and move now. Haha!

Very nice apartment. Love your cat 😻, I’m a cat person. Thank you for sharing you home with us. Greetings from Philadelphia 🔔 .
Thank you so much! He definitely has personality, and always joins me for a workout if I pull out the yoga mat! :)
For your shower, you can buy a 'tension rod' which will allow you to put up a shower curtain. No drilling or screws required
We could, but they just seem to be non-existent over here at every apt. and hotel room. I suppose we could look at the stores to see if they carry them, but we've gotten used to the no curtain shower :) Merci!
I like the apartment...struggled to watch from the kitchen part...too slow... 😢
Thanks for watching....even the slow parts!
Great space and adorable animals. I love all the natural light in your apartment. Why did you leave New Orleans? Thanks
Merci! I greatly appreciate the natural light, especially on gloomy days. We left New Orleans for a great opportunity in Paris, and now we haven't been able to leave bc we love it so much. We're back to Nola all the time though for work and to see family/friends.
We stayed in Honfleur!!! Wonderful work & vacay situation!😉
Yes, it's such a wonderful, cute port town! Glad you had the opportunity to visit.
You guys got such beautiful apparment
Thank you very much Gary!
I love the clock and candlestick stand
Thank you! We're fond of those two things as well. I bought the clock for Doug one of our first years over here when we visited Prague.
Good luck your place is great
thank you so much and thanks for watching!
Love your apartment!! (Please share your Gumbo recipe!!)
Thank you very much! I'll have to ask Doug if he has an official recipe for the gumbo. He just made a batch last week for his family in Nola, so it's fresh on his mind.
@@LamourdeParisPhotographers omg! I’d be so grateful!!
