This song is in no way representative of them or their ability Here are some suggestions: 1 Head Banger - Legend of 1997 2 Pa Pa Ya feat F Hero the official version 3 Metali feat Tom Morello the official version 4 Road of Resistance Live in Japan When Metallica saw them live they said they were astonished by their awesomeness. I would not suggest The One as the first song to react to. When you see the others you will understand
We are The One. Forever.🦊🤘🔥 Probably this reaction won't get so much traffic bc everyone is watching the new collab along with Electric Callboy, so highly suggest to check it out while is hot. See you next time 🦊🤘
Wlcome to the wonderful world of happy metal that is BABYMETAL! This video was recorded at a live show. When asked by their producer what they wanted to do, they said they wanted to get as close as possible to the entire audience, hence the pyramid platform on the crane. "The One" is a love letter to the fans and is also the name of the fan-base, so this is an unusual song for a first reaction. Kitsune Da O! 🤘🦊🤘
I can see from the video they love their crowd and audience. I’m definitely gonna check out some more material. Thanks for watching. Thanks your comment. I really appreciate it. :-)
Thanks for this reaction, I enjoyed that. Subbed. A bit of a Babymetal deep cut, but I'll take it. 🙂 Babymetal on average are heavier and more varied in how many genres and sub-genres of music they combine compared to Band-Maid, so I think this is gonna be a great journey if you go down the path of more Babymetal. Babymetal live is best Babymetal and they don't have bad songs, just less loved songs. So as one fan said, Babymetal has 4 best off albums (hint: they have 4 albums 🙂 ). So no, it's not about albums, there are definitely different eras of Babymetal. In large part because how young they started.
Great first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊 Your timing was unfortunate, as you've been told. Hopefully more of us will turn up eventually (you would normally get a whole load of people with loads of info and suggestions for you). I'll do what I can with some info to get you started. BABYMETAL are like nothing you will have seen or heard before, they brought a fusion of great metal instrumentals coupled with JPop hooks, melodies and aesthetics to create their very own sub-genre (which is why they are called BABYMETAL - it signifies that they invented their own sub-genre, a new style of metal ... it is also a bit of a Japanese pun with BABYMETAL and heavy metal sounding and being written almost identically) and they have continued to develop and evolve from those beginnings. When they started in 2010 the three members (Su-metal - lead vocalist, Yuimetal and Moametal - backing vocals, harmonies and in charge of hyping and involving the crowd through their choreo) were aged 12, 11 and 11. We have watched them grow up and become one of the very best live acts on the planet. Yuimetal last performed in October 2017 and was absent for 12 months for health reasons until she announced she was still not fully recovered and would be leaving the band. Su and Moa continued as a duo for 4 or 5 years supported from 2019 by 3 dancers who would take turns dancing in the third spot until 1st April 2023 when one of those dancers, Momoko, was finally revealed as the new official third member (she is now known as Momometal). They don't limit themselves to any one main style or genre and you won't be able to pigeonhole or put them in any one box like you can with virtually every other band in the world, they are one of a kind and they invented their own genre and style that nobody has been able to copy successfully (some have tried, none came close) including bringing choreographed dancing to metal (but not as you might know it from pop acts where it is nearly always used just to fill the stage or give you almost naked girls (and boys) to look at to take your mind off often bland music). BABYMETAL's choreo helps with interpreting the song - a lyric or the meaning etc, but it is designed to involve and lead the crowd, to give them their cues when to jump, shout, pump their fists, chant and so on. BABYMETAL are complete masters of crowd control and crowd involvement. Early on (for the first 2 or 3 years) BABYMETAL did not have the funding for a live band so the instrumentals were pre-recorded and played on the backing track and for a while guys dressed in skeleton suits would be on stage dancing about and pretending to play the instruments (nothing underhand, no deception - everybody knew they were there for show). Now they are supported in live shows by the Kami Band - some of Japan's very best session musicians, each one of them a world class instrumentalist. They first appeared in October 2012 and played at a couple of festivals and the encores in some shows as they were being phased in over about 18 months. They became the full time support for all live shows from March 2014. In 2019 the Kami Band of the West (American musicians) were introduced and they have been supporting BABYMETAL on their more extended foreign tours since then. They have nearly 70 songs now, every one of them is different from the last. They have songs in virtually every metal genre but will mix in other musical styles and genres with the metal, often when you least expect it. Some songs lean towards their pop roots others are just good hard metal and they do everything in between - so if you don't like one song no problem - try another, the chances are you'll love it. 'The One' is a song dedicated to the fans (who they also named 'The One'). As they toured the world they realised their fans had been learning Japanese to sing along with them. They were humbled and decided they must learn a song completely in English as a mark of their love and respect and to reciprocate. 'The One' is that song - this was the official video so it had the half and half English-Japanese version that was on the Japanese edition of their second album. The international release had the full English version. This song is effectively their love letter to the fans. It is actually a follow on to their Prog Metal homage to Dream Theater called 'Tales of the Destinies'. They only played that live one time - that was when they sold out the Tokyo Dome in 2016 (55,000 people two nights running with a completely different set list each night, no song was repeated). GAnimal83 and Hymnodic have given you some excellent suggestions for more songs to get you started.
Wow, thank you so much for that detailed history. That’s awesome. My timing might suck but never mind, LOL, and thanks for the comment. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it. :-)
@@chattingtracks You are most welcome. I'm already looking forward to you discovering more of their songs and seeing just how diverse they are - and what makes them original and unique.
Oh, thanks so much for the bit of history there. They’re new to me, but I enjoy them. Thanks for watching and thanks for comment. I really appreciate it. :-)
Wow starting with The One is definitely a choice. This is definitely one of the more advanced Babymetal songs. Monochrome and Mirror Mirror are some of their more recent songs that are more indicative of their sound. But anything Babymetal is great. Now you've two of the big four in Japan right now. The others are Lovebites and Nemophila. Lovebites - Hammer of Wrath (live 2023) Nemophila - Revive (live at the house of blues)
It was a fantastic suggestion from a viewer. I’ll check those other things out. Thank you so much. Thanks for watching, and thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it. :-)
Great first reaction! 🤘🦊🤘 Thank you for giving BABYMETAL a chance!!! BABYMETAL is a Japanese kawaii (cute) metal group (a metal subgenre that they created) that formed in 2010 when the 3 girls were 11-12 years old (yes, they were very young), and since then have performed with, toured with, or opened for Metallica, Korn, Sabaton, Bring Me The Horizon, Dragonforce, Guns N' Roses, Lady Gaga, Rob Halford of Judas Priest (there's a great youtube video of their performance with Rob at a metal award show), and Red Hot Chili Peppers (there is a youtube video of them performing Gimme Chocolate with RHCP, as well as with Korn, and DragonForce), to name a few of many. They have performed at large metal events/concerts in front of 65,000+ skeptical metalheads in Europe (Download, Sonisphere, Glastonbury, etc), US, and Asia. They are the first Japanese band to perform at Wembley arena in the UK. Also, 20+ awards have been given to them. They have 60+ songs and each one is different from the other, so I hope you give the other songs a try. By the way, they have some really great heavy songs too, and I hope you like guitar solos, as well as bass and drum solos, like I do, because they have them too. Also, they released a new amazing album last year and they just finished a world tour where they had many shows here in the US. They also recently released a new music video for their song called "Metali" that features Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello. PLUS they literally just released a new song where they collab with Electric Callboy.🤘🦊🤘
There’s so much to learn about this band, but I’m sure I enjoy every moment of it. Thanks so much for the history. Thanks so much for the comment and watching. I really appreciate it.
They are very popular in Japan (and are maybe the only Japanese metal band that can sell out arena shows in Japan) but they are also the biggest Japanese band outside of Japan. They have a huge following all over the world. The Japanese arena shows are incredible.
@@chattingtracks You have NO idea of the complicated complex history, lore and mythos that comes with Babymetal. It's a trip for sure...but an incredibly einjoyable one.
Awsome reaction! Yoube earned my subscription, I would LOVE to follow your Babymetal journey.. The beginning is a great place to start, so you can go Doki Doki Morning, Megitsune, Headbanger, Ijime Dame Zettai, Iine, Akatsuki unfinished version, Rondo of Nightmare, Catch me if you Can, and Gimme Chocolate. The best shows to see these songs are from Legend 97 from 2013, and their Budokan show from 2014. I really hope you become an official part of The One. ☺☺😊😊
Great reaction, thanks and welcome to BABYMETAL. BABYMETAL is the three ladies. They are backed by a group of session musicians known as Kami Band in live performances. They are better live because of many reasons like Su-metal's (the lead singer) live vocals, the Kami Band playing live, the choreo, the stage setups, etc. Yes, they are very theatrical. Every song has its own choreo and their big format shows (usually only in Japan) are like movies. They put a lot of effort into this. They are very diverse musically since they don't hesitate on mixing any music genre with metal (any subgenre) and they are quite unpredictable. So, always expect the unexpected. My favorite song is "Arkadia" and my favorite album, their fourth and latest: The Other ONE (2023). I second the suggestions for "Monochrome" (Live at PIA Arena 2023). Enjoy your BABYMETAL journey! 🤘🦊
I'm glad you enjoyed the reaction video, and thanks for the tip. I’ll check out those songs. Thanks for your comment. Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. :-)
Although this is one of their more gentle songs, a song dedicated to their fans, this is not quite what will define what and who Babymetal are. They are a metal band. A progressive metal band that mixes pop and metal and every genre you can think of. From Thrash to Ska, Black metal to Indian to Celtic and Latin and everything in between. Not to mention their style has changed in the past 13 years or so, as they started this project at the tender age of 11 and 10 years old. They are well into their 20's now and their music reflects their growth. From the cutesy Doki Doki Morning, to the powerful metal anthem Divine Attack. One song will not define this band.
Suscribed/Liked. Pease continue your Babynetal journey with one of classics: -Road of Resistance - Live in Japan or -Catch Me If You Can (with Kami Band Intro) | LIVE at Budokan Black Night 🦊🤘

You picked a GREAT if unusual track for an introduction to Babymetal. Good on you for that. I'm pretty sure the amazing flying bits were from 2017. But you very insightfully managed to understand so much of what makes Babymetal so beloved. They're unique, always surprising, always willing to take chances and they love and respect their fans. It's mutual. Oh and I wouldn't worry too much about having the lyrics. As Queen Su-lead vocals says, "don't think, feel!" Great largely female metal and rock bands from Japan owe a debt of gratitude to Babymetal. They are the most popular band in the west to ever come from Japan and as such really broke down a lot of gates for these other fantastic bands now getting much more of a listen over here. And you picked up on how it's not just a concert but an entire performance. As mentioned this track is seven years old now. I'd love to see you do a reaction to one of their more recent performances-that is just them not a collab I mean. My suggestion is: Monochrome, live at PIA Arena from April 2023 (link follows) ua-cam.com/video/xAZeBm0o7Jo/v-deo.html
Fantastic! I’m glad you enjoyed the video, and thanks for the tip. I’ll check that track out. Thanks for watching, and thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it. :-)
Great reaction and welcome to Babymetal! This song is an amazing prog-metal rock ballad, and a tribute to Babymetal's fan base, called "The ONE". These gals are 14-year veterans and started out in 2010 at a very young age. They expertly combine amazing heavy metal with J-Pop and delivers it in an amazing live setting. Babymetal is just the 3 girls, and are backed by insane session band called "the Kami Band". Here are a few suggestions so you can see their wide range: *Road of Resistance (Official Live):* Jan 2015 show, epic power metal battle anthem, and a staple show closer for almost a decade. *Headbanger (Legend 1997 Concert):* Dec 2013 show for lead Su-metal's 16th birthday. A quintessential Babymetal classic. *Megitsune (Pia Arena MM, 2023):* A classic fan favorite, but a recent performance from the gals, now in their mid-20s. *Monochrome (Pia Arena MM, 2023):* Melodic, emotional, and an amazing song/performance. *Ratatata (Official MV):* Just released yesterday, collab with Electric Callboy. Look forward to more Babymetal!! 🤘🦊
Thank you so much for the suggestions. I’ve enjoyed the BABYMETAL foxhole so far, LOL. I definitely check those out. Thank you so much for your comment and for watching. I really appreciate it. :-)
Good reaction, subscribed. Unfortunately Babymetal and Electric Callboy dropped a song today that is getting all the attention, so you might struggle for traffic. But try another song a few days later, and I'm sure you'll get some traction.
Thanks so much for subscribing. It really helps me out and I really appreciate you watching and commenting. Hopefully, people will just find this channel eventually :-)
Babymetal is THE best LIVE band on the planet Road of Resistance LIVE at PIA Arena 2023 from the Hymnodic channel Just of what a LIVE Babymetal performance is like.
1) I can't believe that YOU haven't already heard of BabyMetal. 2) Compared to a lot of their stuff, this is practically a ballad. Watch a few more of their videos and you'll see the difference. 3) An interesting thing about Japanese bands seems to be (from what I've seen so far) is that they basically fall into two groups. 'Real' bands (including BandMaid) and 'product' bands: they are owned, managed, directed and controlled by a production company. I'm pretty sure BabyMetal is a product. They're still good, and their live shows are mental, but something about it just isn't the same for me personally. 4) If you want to check out some more grass-roots Japanese rock, I've been impressed by The Cro-magnons, & Red Raw. For one of the J-Rock grandfathers (no longer together unfortunately) try X-Japan. 5) Yeah, you always were a terrible drummer. 😅
"This is quite a gentle sounding metal" - They can fix that for you - Babymetal - Road Of Resistance (PIA Arena 2023 Live) at: ua-cam.com/video/XpGRYhY897E/v-deo.html
@@chattingtracks Just a note for your own edification. I was a drummer for years. I have seen many of the greatest drummers ever. Road of Resistance, Live in Japan with drummer Hideki Aoyama turns in one of the most beastly, brutally powerful performances I've ever heard. He could power Tokyo with the energy he expends in this song. I'm in awe everytime I hear it!!!
Interestingly, you bring that up as it’s a bit of a double-edged sword, as lots of creators get criticised for doing just that. I think people have their own preferences, but thanks so much for watching your comment. I really appreciate it :-)
I would suggest recent live performances, particularly of their songs Road of Resistance, Monochrome, and Megitsune from their PIA Arena 2023 concerts. 1 Head Banger - Legend of 1997
2 Pa Pa Ya feat F Hero the official version

They are a band I want to find out more about. Thanks for your comment. Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. :-)

It’s hard to pick a favorite album but I would like to see someone react to Metal Galaxy. The variety will surprise you
Thanks very much for the tip. I’ll check that out, and I really appreciate you watching and commenting :-)
Nice reaction, bad timing xd
Hope you react to more babymetal (:
My fav album is The other one(last album) and my favorite songs are Megitsune, Time Wave and Iine! I suggest you to react to live performances, thats where they shine the most
Thanks so much. I’m delighted you enjoyed watching it. My timing sucks, but I’m just really grateful for everyone that’s watching the video so far. I’ll check out those tracks you suggested. Thanks for watching. Thanks for the comment. I really appreciate it. :-)

Megitsune music video (their traditional metal/EDM/jpop sound (really young, first album)
Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God intro Budokan live (highlights band members)
Monochrome live pia arena (new album)
But all time favorite song...
BMTH Kingslayer ft BabyMetal live in Tokyo
Thanks so much for the tip. I’ll check those out. Thanks for watching. Thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it. :-)
As Queen Su-lead vocals says, "don't think, feel!"
Great largely female metal and rock bands from Japan owe a debt of gratitude to Babymetal.
Thanks BABYMETAL for all the Love you show The One. Welcome to the fox hole and great reaction. 🦊 🖖❤
Thank you so much for the suggestion and this rabbit hole, LOL. Glad you enjoyed the video :-)
Great job getting the request in for this reaction. It really seems like he "got" Babymetal. I hope he'll react to more.
Here are a few suggestions so you can see their wide range:
*Road of Resistance (Official Live):* Jan 2015 show, epic power metal battle anthem, and a staple show closer for almost a decade.
@@chattingtracks My pleasure, have fun down the foxhole haha!
Next reaction, LOVEBITES - HOLY WAR
Thanks for the tip. I’ll check that out. Thanks for watching, and thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it. :-)
Well this is simply the japanese Version from The One. International they pushed logically the english Version.
Oh, cool, thanks for the heads up… Thanks for your comment. Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it.
@chattingtracks, don't worry, we will turn up 😁🤘🏼🦊
I found you bro 👍
I found you too! We fans will always turn up for quality reactions. What can I say. Were all a bit obsessed.
Babymetal is THE best LIVE band on the planet
Road of Resistance LIVE at PIA Arena 2023 from the Hymnodic channel
Just of what a LIVE Babymetal performance is like.
Thanks so much for your comment and for reaching out; I really appreciate it. They’re an exciting band :-)
Thanks for the tip. I’ll check with them, and you’re right. It always was a lousy drummer, LOL.
Don't know who would recommend this as your first entry to Babymetal.
Look at my other comment
I just did 😆

They rock. Thanks for watching, and thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it. :-)
"This is quite a gentle sounding metal" - They can fix that for you - Babymetal - Road Of Resistance (PIA Arena 2023 Live) at: ua-cam.com/video/XpGRYhY897E/v-deo.html
Wow I’ll see what you mean that double bass job work is insane. Thanks so much for coming. Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. :-)
You need to respect the artist and let it play til the end, especialy with Babymetal who tend to give a parting message.

He's right.
Thanks so much for the suggestions. I’ll look at that. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it. :-)
