    For anyone considering the tent:
I’m 6’2” and claustrophobic. This tent is awesome. Fits me and my gear really easily and comfortably. Condensation is an issue in certain climates, but one that is mitigated by the optional clip on condensation fabric. This is easily the best tent I’ve ever owned. It’s so versatile and lightweight, it’s the only one you’ll need. I’ve used it from hot desert in Arizona to winter in Ontario Canada, to the Pacific Northwest in the rain and relative cold. It’s truly awesome.

It would be really helpful to see video of someone on a thick inflatable pad with a 20 degree (or lower) quilt/bag, which in my opinion is the most effective way to illustrate the actual head/foot room.

Hey man. I’m 6’2” and have used several pads and quilt combos in this tent. It’s got plenty of room. I would never have two ppl in it though. Me and my pack is all it can handle in my opinion.

I own this tent, but I can tell you that it’s not a double wall tent. The condensation liner is just that, a liner. It’s not going to increase ventilation. It’s simply helps stop dripping, condensation from falling on you.

Good review video. Very professional and polished.
I love my 3F UL Lanshan 2 tent. Beside the net inner, I have the winter insert as well, which I have been using the past month on AT section hikes in CT and MA.
However, my wife complained that it is too narrow (45") for the two of us (6', 200 lbs. + 5'-2", 115 lbs.). That was all the excuse I needed to purchase a Locus Gear 4p DCF mid tent with 3p net inner last winter. The Locus Gear mid with this inner set-up is great for two or three people, allowing a large vestibule area at the entrance, and with each hiker carrying some part(s) of the tent to make it individually ultralight. It only weighs about 3.5 lbs. total, and it is built to be used in rugged conditions. Still, the Lanshan 2 is almost a pound lighter. I could haul the mid on my solo trips, but the L2 provides everything I need from a tent on a solo trip.
Either way, I am leary about tents with designated, arched, segmented poles. I prefer the flexibility of using trekking poles, which can be substituted with a branch or two if broken, or even hanging such tents from an overhanging branch.
I almost pulled the trigger on this Tarptent. I like a lot of the features. But it is too close to my L2, so my next tent will be Locus Gear's 2p DCF 4-season expedition dome tent, built strong enough for a good, 'ole New England blizzard.
    Happy trails.

we seem to be VERY like minded on our gear as I am in love with the HMG pack and pods. I've been a hammocker for 10 years but need to go to ground to check out some other cool places. I am on the fence between the Tarptent DR Li with inner or the HMG Ultamid 2 with inner. did you ever look at the HMG? mostly for the space available in the HMG but I really like the versatility of the freestanding option of the Tarptent. I really appreciate that you already confirmed the Tarptent will fit 2 of the wide pads. thank you! can't wait for the first trip video of the tent.

Not to mention the nylon fabric on the mesh doors/bathtub that blocks wind blowing inside . It’s also almost 200usd cheaper than the zpacks free duo and u get more tent for your money, zpacks has no liner option , poles pack to 20inch instead tarptent 17inch , zpacks lacks the higher bathtub/ wind protection , Rainbow has better Ventilation ..
U can buy tarptents as blemish version and save another 80bucks .
    Better made tent imo

Yeah. Nice tent, but not for that money. This tent is, according to their website, 650 $ for 28,6 oz. Buying a "Lanshan 2 pro" is just 150 $ for 32,6 oz. These 4 oz cost 500 $ more. No. Never. When I'm so weak, that I can't carry these 4 oz more in a backpack, I will stay at home in my backyard. It's amazing, how much money some companies charge for a few oz. of weight less. Ridiculous. And there are still a lot of people with a shit load of money to waste, who buy that stuff. That tent can not perform that much better, that it's worth for ME, to pay 500 $ more than neccessary. And I compare the official price on the official websites, not some bargain price for one or two examples somewhere online.
