Every item was genuinely used in history, rather than giggling about it, think about the poor sods who ended up in these devices, often for no reason or supposed reasons. Most were poor people so that the wealthy could get richer from the deaths of their victims.

Something that wasn’t mentioned- the bull wasn’t just for the sake of being cooked alive. They tortured were kept in there for days, screaming in pain. The bull was specifically designed in such a way that the sound would be distorted, making the screams sound like a bull.
When they lit the fire under the bull people inside would scream. There were holes in the bull’s mouth that were were tuned so that the screams made it sound like the bull was braying.
My friends and I are going there in September! I am quite nervous but my friends are creepily excited. Quick question for my own sake: no one jumps out and startles you, do they? I think that I keep feeling like its more like a haunted house haha

Would definitely recommend the museum of torture in Malta. Went there years ago, was very shadowy and dark, took lots of pictures with a camera with a flash. Wasn't too horrifying when we were in there, the the horror emerged when we looked back through the fully lit photos days later.
