One torture i also believe should be mentioned(although it is more or less like the brazen bull), is a portuguese PIDE torture device nicknamed "the frying pan": A concrete room with a slid up top that only let hot air in. Since it was made on a camp in a african territory, the temperatures inside the apparatus could get lethally hot

As a proud Australian, I loved the reference to Mel Gibson, even if it was a casual reference to his worst behaviour. He was our favourite export for a while there. Apparently the Blood eagle was also a chance at redemption, albeit incredibly difficult redemption. If the victim managed to make it throught the entire execution without screaming in pain, they would be alowed into Valhalla, this is much easier said than done due to the brutality of the execution.

They nails part was also not normally done. Generally you were just tied with a little ledge for your feet so you could take breaths. It was for punishment, not execution. Even Jesus could prop himself up for breaths .

Tbf, it IS family friendly. Education is NEVER "bad". My kids are aware that not every adult is a good person, or trustworthy. Many folks would think it cruel of me to explain things to them, others agree with me that awareness is part of prevention.
