Yes no reason at all to be paying full price for an low quality product like this snow blower.
I have an old snowjoe snow thrower, I am thinking it is close to 10 years old, it uses the old ION 40v battery. I guess they don’t use that battery anymore. I also have the Sunjoe leaf blower that uses the same battery. Snow thrower was ok for light fluffy snow, not to great on wet snow. Leaf blower is great, all this time, and still using the same battery. Last year, I did get the EGO 2 stage snow blower, and loving it, also using the EGO lawn mower which I got the summer before the snow blower. When the battery finally dies, I will move to the EGO leaf blower also. I like using the same batteries in multiple products.
Hi there. Just to let you know I bought this snow blower on Feb 2/24 and returned it on Feb 3/24 , because 3 of the 4 24volt 12 amp would not charge. I bought it from Princess Auto for $799 Canadian plus tax.

i have the EGO 28 inch snowblower and an Ariens gas machine, this SnowJoe looks like a decent machine but 2 grand is a big pill to swallow....if you are in the snow joe or sun joe family, it makes a nice addition but I am an EGO user

SnowJoe is nearly nonexistent in Canada. Only through Home Depot somewhere online can you see some products. Nobody buys them here.

Yup, this has been around for awhile now. I've seen them for as low as $750 online for the batteries,snow blower and charger.
I've had the Ego 2 stage and since 2020, I've only used it about 3 times. We just aren't getting any snow.

Snow Joe was actually the first company to have a 2 stage blower. I think it was a couple years before ego came out with theirs. It was a piece of junk but at least they tried. 😂😂. Another fantastic unboxing and first review!
Pretty expensive for a two stage though but that's interesting I didn't know that thanks buddy
@@TechMadeEzy yeah I was thinking the same thing in that price point. And the ego seems to be a better quality blower. Snow Joe has always seemed cheap to me. My neighbor has one of the little single stage blowers and that thing is horrible. My little Ryobi puts it to shame. And the batteries look very cheap as well and don’t seem to do well with getting rid of the heat they accumulate. Can’t wait to see it in action though. When you gonna review the Greenworks model? 😂😂

I’ve definitely used the ego for a few years. It’s pretty solid the snow Joe I’m not sure about yet. It doesn’t seem like it’s built well. First impression.
Nice review. Looks like a decent machine. Not a fan of the chute control by the video but probably a minor issue. Also, I noticed you didn't show how to raise and lower the chute flap. Looking at the control panel, It seems you have to push the button and raise and lower the chute control stick?
If i remember correctly their previous machine had an electric chute control, probably eliminated it to save on the cost i guess.

Yes, its exactly the same blower as what was formerly sold as a two battery unit that used larger 48V/50V batteries. I own that version. The only difference is this one has had the battery compartment re-engineered to use the four 24V batteries, but from the outside, the battery compartment itself and it's lid are nearly identical. One positive thing I did notice is that they did the lid with more overlap and coverage than the model I have. That's a good thing, because I find that with mine, you always got some snow inside the battery compartment. Not a lot, but any is too much. And yes, you control the chute exactly in the manner as you describe. After three winters, I find the rotation still works okay, but the adjustment of the chute angle is pretty much shot. Love the machine, and it has more oomph than the old 8hp B&S gas powered dual stage I owned before that. I love that I can go out at 2 in the morning if I wanted, and no one would hear it in action. Great machine for those early morning deep snow removals, before folks start tramping down the snow on the sidewalk when they're taking their mutts out for the morning dump. 🙂
The only faults I've found with it, compared to a gas blower is that it doesn't keep the front down close to the sidewalk like a gas blower would do due to the weight of the gas engine. But it gets close enough to do the job quite well. Not scraping the sidewalk, but close enough to only leave a small amount of snow (maybe a quarter/eighth of an inch). The other flaw is the cheap plastic grips that hold the chute clearing tool on top of the input housing in the front of the machine. In really cold weather, they'll just snap off. The solution is to get a couple of small diameter plastic dual conduit clamps, and use them to hold the clearing tool on the cross member under the and controls. Its a minor thing but an annoyance that results from cold weather equipment that's engineering in warm climates. lol
This morning i finally dusted off my snow blower, folded up my lawn mower and sprayed the auger to repel snow. Gotta get ready for the season. 😢

I've seen it, the guy was a snow removal worker and couldn't clear a driveway so had to use his smaller Ego electric blower.@@TechMadeEzy
@@TechMadeEzyyeah from what I've seen, performance wise it's not even comparable to Ego,Toro,etc.
Maybe for their smaller units, but these 96V systems are work horses. Did you actually see or use a 96V dual stage, or one of their other snow blowers?
