I just left a comment before I saw yours about this and I’m with you! I need to get out of Sun Joe dethatcher hell… and I would be one of the first people to buy the ego detacher and aerator if they came out with one!. I’m completely baffled as to why they would put so much work into making a minibike (which has nothing to do with lawncare) instead of releasing a dethatcher!
been using Ego to run my business since 2020. I haven’t bought a new model trimmer since then. The trigger with the safety built into it is the reason why. The old model trimmer, with a separate safety and trigger, without “line IQ” is still the best in their lineup. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it
@@MachineryNation yes around the crank area. It was hard for me to tell in the video and I can’t find any pictures of it online. My GreenWorks Pro 60V 20” chainsaw has a magnesium casing on the bottom of it and is built like a tank…lol!

That’s a first for me, I found Wally😊 The second chainsaw appeared to be pulling you into the log, must have power. Like it, another first for me. The pro lawn mower, superb.
Chainsaws and hedge trimmers look pretty cool. I invested fairly heavily into Ego tools a couple of years ago. I did like the tools but I had so many batteries and charger failures and faults... Real shame.

Love Ego have 9 of their products but the 2024 commercial series metal deck and residential mowers are a wash. The gear whine from the drive gear is so unbelievably piercing and constant that it ruins all the other aspects of the mower.... Imagine a small 747 engine that never goes away is high enough pitch that it will still get through your hearing protection. I mean if you are the type of person that listens to the sound of belt squeal on an old diesel engine as your comforting noises, you have found your perfect match. They have so many smart people at ego with all the revolutionary products... Yet no one goes... Hey Tim do you think anyone will mind that this mower sounds like a combination of a dog whistle and a small jet engine the entire time its being used. Nah Nah its fine it's the sound of cutting edge. Maybe the sound of a nail cutting the edge of a blackboard. But don't worry... next year we will fix it... and add three more issues. The new mower is FUBAR with that engineering marvel of a gearbox.
I agree and single blade and non collapsible handles is a freaking joke especially at tne prices they are robbing people. Not to mention they have zero local dealer support and Ego customer service is trash non existent.
Oh wait, it’s not supposed to sound like that? asking seriously. just bought a residential one and thought it sounded like a vacuum cleaner lol, but figured that’s just physics
On max power the 40v makita mower sounds like a low tone hairdryer and the self propulsion is effortless and silent with the ball bearing wheels. And if you ever hear the commercial with the residential side by side it’s a huge difference. The new commercial ego still doesn’t touch the makita though. @projectfarm should do an honest review of the top commercial battery mowers and nut check all these manufacturers.
Absolute junk. Never buy EGO products. Single use battery warrantied for 3 years while equipment 5. What good is 5 years warrantied equipment once 3 year warrantied battery dies? EGO told me to stuff it after battery died 4 summers of use......use is 5 months per season. I have multiple pieces of equipment worth over $2,000 & nothing works without replaced a $400 battery. Stick to cheap gas mower & blowers with much less expensive batteries. And the mower-unimpressive cut.........cheapest of lawn mowers will cut better.....and if your lawn is damp........grass sticks to housing.....poor design, bad battery's. Stay away from this company & save yourself a lot of money.
The more I listen to these guys talk the more I realize how far Americans have moved from speaking actual English and not using the same systems that most of the world uses. because I’m sitting here with a conversion app trying to figure out how many kilos are in a lb and what are the American word for what they’re saying (Like..what is a cowhorn?). 😅 But still, I’m grateful for this introduction to the new line. Was hoping they’d make a dethatcher (so that I can finally get out of the Sun Joe hell) but we can’t have everything! Thanks guys!
Run time for the mower? This is generally why us commercial boys (and girls) have avoided electric mowers so far. The numbers £ just don't stact up when you consider the price of the machine, the batteries and crucially the run time from those batteries.
Okay you are right the residential is 11.8. Was not sure if it was to high a figure being 14 for the 22 inch as that’s a lot of torque. I just checked and the Honda 9hp gx270 produces that same figure 14 ft-lbs. Does this ego 22 inch commercial mower then run both batteries at once to get that power? @@ecp4500
I was looking at 10-12amp batteries it's actually better to just spend more and get the 28ah backpack and then run the saws with that.🤓 As those bigger battery's not worth it get more power for less money with backpack one.
Why would you be in a situation where you have no electricity or mains water and think I really feel like washing my car ? Do you carry a cordless pressure around with just in case the urge to wash the car gets too much 😂
I cannot believe EGO hasn’t come out with a scarifier/detacher unit and aeration unit. Please tell them to do so.

I'd love to see if someone can attach a small snow plow to the lawn tractors.

Snow blower
