I find it so frustrating that our society is so antagonistic. I wish companies and governments would actively seek out wise and educated people like JBP to consult with them, instead of just trying to defend against them when they offer criticism.
"There's no reason to be proud of your intelligence because you're not the creator of it." I find this to be a very humbling phrase. Thank you for your insight.
The self awareness of the people in the comments sections on Jordan Peterson's videos is incredible. It is so rare to see people acknowledging their flaws and imperfections on the Internet. It's truly amazing.
Thank you, Dr. Peterson, for making this available, ultimately, to non-Patreon subscribers. It really speaks to your character. I've no doubt that you believe what you say.
Thank you Dr. Peterson for providing non-stop informative content. It is my hope that myself and everyone use it wisely. Glad to hear some of your health problems are clearing up!
The gift that keeps on giving. You are so appreciated and loved, Dr. JP !! Hope UA-cam never ever takes down any of your videos since they are serving-illuminating different generations.
Based on the comments, I'm thrilled to see I'm not the only one seriously moved by Dr. Peterson's lectures. Anyone else notice that they're working harder and feel more resilient to putting in more hours and motivated? His message has really tapped into something for me.
"It's conceivable that I love you too, but I don't know because I don't know you. But we'll assume that we could start from that perspective." Expert in many fields, but don't ask him for pickup lines. :)
I started homeschooling my oldest because of bullying and I thought the whole homeschooling thing was a joke, but the more I moved into the world, the more I saw the indoctrination that goes on in public schools (especially in my very upscale area). My oldest is extremely bright and is about to start taking college courses next year (he'll be in 8th grade age-wise). The agenda is something that concerns me. We can talk about it, and we do talk a lot about trying to see where someone is coming from, what's their bias, but that's a lot to ask from a thirteen-year-old, even a very bright one. I've shown him some of your lectures, but he's still not quite there yet. It will be a discussion through the years. Thanks for doing this! I appreciate it.

Hi Jordan, love this question and answer. I just cannot get enough listening to you and listen to your videos and/or sound bites from lectures etc, just about every day. So... thank you from the bottom of my soul.
"When you know anyone, you stop thinking they're cute" and then your wife yells from the other room "HEY!" That was priceless. You seem to have a really great family life, it makes me happy to see.
Thank you for posting, I have found myself avidly consuming your videos and can't seem to get enough! Don't stop advocating for truth and spreading meaning to our lives!
In the middle of MOM Lecture 4, I had to stop and reassess my whole childhood...Dr. Peterson summed up twenty five years of my life in less than five minutes.
I would like to add a comment on the negotiating wages/conflict. Dr. Peterson discusses how to prepare yourself for negotiations, but a great way to open the conversation that I have found is by going to the person who controls your wage and asking the question "What would it take for me to get a raise?". Getting your options in order is a necessary thing for you to have bargaining power but it's also a 2 way street, and understanding what your employer's expectations are would go a long way towards knowing what kind of outcome you can expect.
I thank God for putting a few giants of intellect within my reach so that I may benefit from their great wisdom. For people like Dr. Peterson, I am immensely grateful.
I don't agree with all you have to say (though on many many topicd I surely do), but dangit do I respect you and support you in the fight you are in. Since this is primarily a spiritual battle, you have my prayers. Dominus vobiscum!
Jordan as far as first attempts at livestreaming go I would consider that a huge success. Most people have a truckload of issues. Your lighting is great, your answers are detailed, but no overly lengthy, your sound is great (mainly because your a great speaker) and you've kept it up when many people just take down their first few livestreams because of minor issues.
Q1: - I love you serious tone when answering dumb questions. - Well thank you. Q2 - How tall are you dr. Peterson? - It depends on whether I'm sitting down or standing up. Best. Humor. Ever
Great work, Dr. Peterson. Smart to put a 0 before the 1 that way 1-9 doesn't get all jumbled up when you start getting into the double digits! Awesome that you have a big following because your so right to stand for the truth. Lux et veritas!!
just started planning days with a calendar. As someone low in conscientiousness, who has a hard time staying focused, I'm surprisingly giddy about the upcoming week. Thanks for the advice!
"And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more - we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward" Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago 1918-1956 Wow.
SonderBeyondHer rey from starwars has speeled the end of starwars Moreover both rey and john oh arc and other female hero's were very masculine, so in a certain way of speaking, they are heros and not herions
***** i assume you mean to ask that why the hell not....i say that they are not heroins and heros, if that is indeed what you meant (if not please clarify what you meant).... what do we mean by a female or a male, is it limited to having vagina and boobs, or penus.....or more relevant are the behaviours associated with those words, with those constructs, i think latter is the case,......so more relevant would be to say wether a certain behaviour is masculine (typical of men, with certain parts exclusive to men) or feminine That is the architype of a hero is more of a behavioural menifestation of the masculine ...... And architype of herion is more of a behavioural menifestation of feminine In, the female characters you mentioned and other similar, the architypical menifestation is that of the masculine, those are not feminine representations , though the one acting then out is a female, but that is not representative of women in general, quite the contrary That is why i say that in a certain way of speaking they are heros.... Masculine.... Moreover rey is the end of starwars... And john of arc , well..nvm..
He referred to it in an interview saying that it resembles the popularity of "50 Shades of Gray"...the feminine need for a dangerous male they can tame.
Adrian Gray 50 shades of gray..... Well i think that's accurate but incomplete in a way, it also represents the feminine desire too be exclusively (only her and no other woman) be, what, raped to achieve that goal,..... that he should be so controlled by her feminity that can't help but rape her............ and in a way that is rising up in female dominance heirarchy
I personally wouldn't exclude fruit from a diet. Fruit is a fantastic source of vitamins, minerals, flavonoids and they digest really easily. Exercise and having a clean diet can do wonders for your health, wellbeing, mental health and happiness.
1:15:48 Dr. Peterson, throughout all of your lectures and videos I'll sometimes have this feeling as if you were talking about me with a scary amount of accuracy. This was one such moment, as were others like your analysis on The Lion King. I'm 23 and thanks to you I've realized that for my entire life I was simply a dopey Simba in Hakuna-Matata-land - and lying to myself and others was a catalyst to that end. Since watching your videos I've been doing/saying the things I avoided doing/saying for the longest time. Now I strongly feel that my life's turned for the better (even though it wasn't that bad to begin with, at least compared to others you could say that I'm pretty sheltered and cared for) and I have gained this strong sense of progression, like a shiny golden orb beckoning me to press on forward. I have since worked on and reached some goals: reached my strength training goal of a 315lbs squat, started working on my dream project of developing my own videogame, actually studied for a math exam in university for 3 weeks 2 hours a day (I never studied/had to study for anything in my life, which is the reason I failed all exams in the previous university I enrolled in) and I'm currently planning to teach myself Japanese with online resources in the coming months. So I owe you thanks for helping me get my shit together, so to speak, I suppose it's something my own father never really did. And I also know that I'm not the only person you've influenced for the better. Keep it up!
lol I'll admit to mild entertainment at what I assume is Dr. Peterson's struggle only to be saved by son coming and helping him out when the camera screws up.
Regarding the effort to increase one's ability to concentrate: perhaps learn to read music. You will experience the need for patience because the composer has set a rhythm and tempo which expresses the feel of the overall piece. Reading and producing gradually more complex notes and rhythms takes time and practice, and thus concentration. Putting yourself on a schedule to do this regularly will provide you with structure and eventually as sense of accomplishment. Such discipline will necessarily generalize to other areas of your life.
i really like the Q&A stuff, as it seems more apt to entice out the most substantial, often straining your performance of organizing and letting out thoughts on subjects more irregular
the Trailer Park Boys, wether people want to admit it, is more of a thinking man's show than most think. It's a lot like Bevis and Butthead: silly and absurd humour that seems dumb but speaks to the flaws and shortcomings of individuals that, imo, deeply express a fascinating satire of the human condition lol.
I've used your talks to help me with personality I've decided it is less important to have others know what I'm thinking and have them be willing to understand me
Jordan thank you so much for doing this and broadcasting it. Thanks to your son as well. It's nice to see you both laugh and grin with the things that most of us can relate to as our contemporary cultural narrative as per the simpsons and regular family life. My big question is how do we as a culture and more importantly as a species decide how to organize and both consolidate and distribute power and decision making between individualism and collectivism, although those are most likely the wrong labels. It seems obvious that there are some things that make sense to govern globally such as planetary defense against impact from cataclysmic events. But then things like food production seem like they should be managed on a significantly more local level than they currently are in western society at least. How do we figure out how to scale and optimize governance over these different problems that plague us all and how do we reach a consensus that works for the individual and the species?
I'm happy for your wild success and getting health under control. I'm seeing your name being referenced in other places of discussion which is a pleasure to see, I hope you are reaping the well deserved benefits.
1950s Nick Cage it's a 90s anime dealing with depression and psychoanalysis with the heroes quest overlaid and with spiritual symbolism sprinkled throughout. its something I think would be straight up petersons alley to look at.
Dugon man i have never seen evangelion, but i have heard from many other anime fans that it is very hard to understand, looking at your description i now understand why.
and since i love watching such anime i would absolutely give it a watch later. And have you seen assassination classroom, its an anime that has many layers of analysis, on its surfacr people watch it as an anime about a strange teachers and strange students, but its actually much deeper than that. I would definitely recommend it.
I know several woman whose life purpose was to have kids, and many for whom it was not, but both types when they had a baby loved them and I can see no difference in the way they loved and mothered their children. Before birth control came along, you didn't need to want children, you just needed to do what rabbits are made for and then love and look after the babies when they arrived.

I have a proclivity to enjoy his lectures.
Roughly speaking
I was going to sort myself out, but then I saw Dr. Peterson put up a new video.
Steve Regal And then I realized how much of a wretched bucko I am.
Steve Regal Nice meme
Steve Regal good to see so many fellow buckos
...so I decided to rescue my dead father instead.
omg same but then all of a sudden all hell broke loose
The self awareness of the people in the comments sections on Jordan Peterson's videos is incredible. It is so rare to see people acknowledging their flaws and imperfections on the Internet. It's truly amazing.
I agree. He's very good at encouraging self-reflection
I love how he's extremely intelligent but still has that classic old-guy difficulty with technology
Yah, it's pretty adorable.
lol yes i commented on this. he slips into the unknown while in the midst of order waiting to he found. soon everything was okay tho lolol

Point, - Guys in their 50's who appear very capable of dealing with the world have the highest rate of suicide.
Dr Peterson, huge thanks from a clueless guy from Kurdistan.
And thus, cute/tough burgeoning hero Julian Peterson defended society by rescuing his father from the belly of technological difficulties.
He slayed the dragon of a camera that doesn't work.
I like his son's name quite a bit :D
So glad to hear you are feeling well, Dr. Peterson.
I love the candid moments here. Could you possibly be any more likeable?!
Joshualbatross I had the same thought.
You mind is a wealth of knowledge and I'm thankful that you chose to share it.
Jordan gets $27k in Patreon per month. Wow! He deserves it is all I can say.
Household Dog it gives him great security so he can really say what he wants, to who he wants.
Respect and recognition rightfully earned...
John Doe Fair enough.
I'm sure he's going to need the money. If things keep going the way they are here in Canada, he'll soon enough be arrested.
@Rickster: I will personally lead /pol/ team 6 to break him out. Then he can keep teaching the world for an undisclosed location.
Dr. Peterson, I have become a huge fan of all of your speeches. It's wonderful to see you. I'm from West Virginia.
It was great to see a more personal, rather than professional, side of Mr Peterson, and also to see him smile and laugh this much.
Thank you Dr Peterson, and thank you to all the patron supporters, with your support others can get help.
It's completely ironic that I'm procrastinating by watching JBP's videos where he keeps telling me to sort myself out..
Next time play one of his videos while you clean up your room!
@@LeonardoLazarteAMVcreator ah the optimist
All I hear when you talk to your son is love for him and your pride in him. Also I found a lot of your said very helpful for problems I am facing.
"It's conceivable that I love you too, but I don't know because I don't know you. But we'll assume that we could start from that perspective."
Expert in many fields, but don't ask him for pickup lines.

Thank you for posting, I have found myself avidly consuming your videos and can't seem to get enough! Don't stop advocating for truth and spreading meaning to our lives!
Thank you Mr Peterson. This video is very insightful.
You're a gift to humanity, Doc. Thank you.
"id rather have the conflict than allow everything to degenerate around me" - fucking yes.
I love you Jordan. You're bringing change for the better
Simply these teachings have lessened my fear of facing fearful things .
I thank God for putting a few giants of intellect within my reach so that I may benefit from their great wisdom. For people like Dr. Peterson, I am immensely grateful.
"It's not necessarily a good idea to be able to out-think your therapist." That's exactly why we're your pupils Professor J.P..
I really enjoyed this event from beginning to end. I look forward to the next Q&A.
I was not expecting a dietary lesson from a question about socks. I love that answer.
"I don't like talking about my problems with other people" Given current circumstances that gave me a chuckle.

I don't agree with all you have to say (though on many many topicd I surely do), but dangit do I respect you and support you in the fight you are in. Since this is primarily a spiritual battle, you have my prayers. Dominus vobiscum!
LOL started it off with a "and that's that"
Jordan as far as first attempts at livestreaming go I would consider that a huge success. Most people have a truckload of issues. Your lighting is great, your answers are detailed, but no overly lengthy, your sound is great (mainly because your a great speaker) and you've kept it up when many people just take down their first few livestreams because of minor issues.
Q1:
- I love you serious tone when answering dumb questions.

Q2
- How tall are you dr. Peterson?
- It depends on whether I'm sitting down or standing up.

"The spoken truth"
The living voice is more important than ever. There's a good reason that Socrates valued speech above all.
We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward"
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago 1918-1956

Wow, indeed.

SonderBeyondHer rey from starwars has speeled the end of starwars
Moreover both rey and john oh arc and other female hero's were very masculine, so in a certain way of speaking, they are heros and not herions
***** i assume you mean to ask that why the hell not....i say that they are not heroins and heros, if that is indeed what you meant (if not please clarify what you meant)....
what do we mean by a female or a male, is it limited to having vagina and boobs, or penus.....or more relevant are the behaviours associated with those words, with those constructs, i think latter is the case,......so more relevant would be to say wether a certain behaviour is masculine (typical of men, with certain parts exclusive to men) or feminine
That is the architype of a hero is more of a behavioural menifestation of the masculine ...... And architype of herion is more of a behavioural menifestation of feminine
In, the female characters you mentioned and other similar, the architypical menifestation is that of the masculine, those are not feminine representations , though the one acting then out is a female, but that is not representative of women in general, quite the contrary
That is why i say that in a certain way of speaking they are heros....

I feel you are a modern day sage.

Dr.
Keep it up!

Such discipline will necessarily generalize to other areas of your life.
exposing your issues/problems makes you all the more real mr peterson...

Oh my god, Jordan & son are so cute together.

the Trailer Park Boys, wether people want to admit it, is more of a thinking man's show than most think. It's a lot like Bevis and Butthead: silly and absurd humour that seems dumb but speaks to the flaws and shortcomings of individuals that, imo, deeply express a fascinating satire of the human condition lol.
I love your videos Jordan! You have the best words and attitude.

I've used your talks to help me with personality I've decided it is less important to have others know what I'm thinking and have them be willing to understand me
All the love from Doha, Qatar.
Eyyy, there are certainly worse ways to spend an evening after a long day.
