  • Dr Jordan B Peterson, Jonathan Pageau, and Mohammed Hijab discuss comparative religion, what is said about Islam versus what Islam has to say, and how the uncomfortable conversation - whether contentious or unnerving, is well worth having.
    Mohammed Hijab is an author, comparative religionist, and philosopher of scripture. He is the co-founder of the Sapience Institute and is a researcher and instructor for the organization. He has a BA in Politics and a master’s degree in History. He has also acquired a second master’s in Islamic Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies, as well as a third master’s degree in Applied Theology from the University of Oxford. Currently, he is working toward his PhD in Philosophy of Religion. Having completed Islamic seminary courses, he is one of very few Muslims who has been given formal permission to relay Islamic knowledge on selected Islamic fields, dealing with comparative, political, and theological issues. In his efforts, he has amassed a substantial following on UA-cam, aided in part by authoring books such as “The Scientific Deception of the New Atheists.”
    Jonathan Pageau is a French-Canadian liturgical artist and icon carver, known for his work featured in museums across the world. He carves Eastern Orthodox and other traditional images and teaches an online carving class. He also runs a UA-cam channel dedicated to the exploration of symbolism across history and religion.
    Dr Peterson's extensive catalog is available now on DailyWire+: utm.io/ueSXh

      Nothing wrong with disagreeing with someone for whatever you believe. I’m a Christian in training, wasn’t raised as a Christian, didn’t go to church, didn’t know God, just started about 4 years ago. I listen to all view points. Because of my experience 4 years ago with God and things God has shown me these last few years I know Jesus is not only my savior but God. I live by 3 rules (and probably don’t do them well). First I love God first, All other humans second, and I try to apply the Fruit of the Spirit to every conversation and everything I do. Communication is extremely important whether we agree or disagree, otherwise we have issues, communication is not trying to better someone or change someone THAT IS God’s plan and job. Nobody came to an agreement an the Muslim as cocky an arrogant as he may be didn’t even provide an facts an doesn’t know who Jesus really was, Muslims contradict themselves when it comes to Jesus an for hibjab to say provide the evidence an doesn’t accept when provided makes him look unintelligent an ignorant especially the part where they were gonna go off topic to prove hijab wrong but he didn’t want the smoke 1:09:32, for him to save they believe in Jesus an his miracles but not believe he is the son of God is mind blowing, no other person has done miracles in the Quran yet they go beating around the bush an pretending like they have truth but they go by the Old Testament that was before Jesus Christ & pick an choose what makes sense to them instead of the entire story which is ridiculously selfish

      I know that there are peaceful Muslims out there. What I find very disconcerting though are these Commandments from the Quran: Surah 2:191: "And kill them (non-Muslims) wherever you find them … kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers (non-Muslims)." Surah 9:5: "Then kill the disbelievers (non-Muslims) wherever you find them, capture them and besiege them, and lie in wait for them in each and every ambush …" How can such a commandment be tolerated by anyone?

      Basic Islam (*eg allah+Mohd+black stone…):
      1. You have to believe in allah and equate a man by the name Mohammad next to him - idolatry;
      2. You have to pray toward a rock that has a black stone in it - idolatry;
      3. You have to give charity only to Muslim causes. You are not to support other causes. - But you claim Islam is a religion of peace and mercy. What a joke!
      4. You have the fasting but when people cannot fast during the month, you pay somebody to fast on your behalf, and you earn righteousness! - But you deny what Christ Jesus did for you on the cross and His resurrection so that believers can get His righteousness (Rom4:25);
      5. You go on perform the pilgrimage, but we heard what happened to the women (*being sexually abused) at the “holey place”. - Al Fadi

      3-Muslims are not prohibited from giving charity to anyone unless they’re fighting against us.
      4- You’re wrong again, someone cannot fast in your stead even if you pay them, you have to fast yourself and if you’re unable to because you’re traveling, sick, on menstrual cycle etc you make up for that fast by fasting in another month for how many fasts you missed and if you’re old, have a condition that makes you unable to fast because it puts you in danger you don’t have to fast instead you feed 1 person per day for how many fasts you missed, e.g you didn’t fast for 29 or 30 days in Ramadan you feed 29 or 30 people total 1 per day.

      The 2 main differences between Christianity:
      1) -Yeshua claimed to be (and in fact, is) God.
      -Mohammed's brother declared him to be a prophet.
      2) -Yeshua instructed His followers to spread the gospel by simply telling everyone, not by force.

      That is the very skill that has disappeared from universities: debate, discussion, apologetics, conversation. The whole reason for the existence of universities and town halls- inquiry, examination, development of new and better ways to conduct modes and methods of exploration- has been dispensed with only to have been replaced with myopic and soul-crushing oppression and ideological dogma. UA-cam is the new university, and it, too, is slowly being eroded.

      Allah Glory to him said:”Those who say, “Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary,” have certainly fallen into disbelief. The Messiah ˹himself˺ said, “O Children of Israel! Worship Allah-my Lord and your Lord.” Whoever associates others with Allah ˹in worship˺ will surely be forbidden Paradise by Allah. Their home will be the Fire. And the wrongdoers will have no helpers.-72-Those who say, “Allah is one in a Trinity,” have certainly fallen into disbelief. There is only One God. If they do not stop saying this, those who disbelieve among them will be afflicted with a painful punishment.-73-Will they not turn to Allah in repentance and seek His forgiveness? And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.-74- The Messiah, son of Mary, was no more than a messenger. ˹Many˺ messengers had ˹come and˺ gone before him. His mother was a woman of truth. They both ate food.1 See how We make the signs clear to them, yet see how they are deluded ˹from the truth˺!-75- Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “How can you worship besides Allah those who can neither harm nor benefit you? And Allah ˹alone˺ is the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.”-76- Say, “O People of the Book! Do not go to extremes in your faith beyond the truth, nor follow the vain desires of those who went astray before ˹you˺. They misled many and strayed from the Right Way.”-77- The disbelievers among the Children of Israel were condemned in the revelations of David and Jesus, son of Mary. That was for their disobedience and violations.-78- They did not forbid one another from doing evil. Evil indeed was what they did!-79- You see many of them taking the disbelievers1 as allies. Truly wicked are their misdeeds, which have earned them Allah’s wrath. And they will be in everlasting torment.-80- Had they believed in Allah, the Prophet, and what has been revealed to him, they would have never taken those ˹pagans˺ as allies. But most of them are rebellious-81- You will surely find the most bitter towards the believers to be the Jews and polytheists and the most gracious to be those who call themselves Christian. That is because there are priests and monks among them and because they are not arrogant.-82- When they listen to what has been revealed to the Messenger, you see their eyes overflowing with tears for recognizing the truth. They say, “Our Lord! We believe, so count us among the witnesses.-83- Why should we not believe in Allah and the truth that has come to us? And we long for our Lord to include us in the company of the righteous.”-84-So Allah will reward them for what they said with Gardens under which rivers flow, to stay there forever. And that is the reward of the good-doers.-85-“ Al-Maida Al Quran Al-Kareem

      In the name of Allah the most gracious the most merciful
      Allah Glory to him said:
      Indeed, Allah chose Adam, Noah, the family of Abraham, and the family of Imrân [father of Mary] above all people. -33- They are descendants of one another. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. -34- ˹Remember˺ when the wife of ’Imrân said, “My Lord! I dedicate what is in my womb entirely to Your service,1 so accept it from me. You ˹alone˺ are truly the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.” -35-When she delivered, she said, “My Lord! I have given birth to a girl,”-and Allah fully knew what she had delivered-“and the male is not like the female. I have named her Mary, and I seek Your protection for her and her offspring from Satan, the accursed.”-36- So her Lord accepted her graciously and blessed her with a pleasant upbringing-entrusting her to the care of Zachariah. Whenever Zachariah visited her in the sanctuary, he found her supplied with provisions. He exclaimed, “O Mary! Where did this come from?” She replied, “It is from Allah. Surely Allah provides for whoever He wills without limit.”-37- Then and there Zachariah prayed to his Lord, saying, “My Lord! Grant me-by your grace-righteous offspring. You are certainly the Hearer of ˹all˺ prayers.”-38- So the angels called out to him while he stood praying in the sanctuary, “Allah gives you good news of ˹the birth of˺ John who will confirm the Word of Allah and will be a great leader, chaste, and a prophet among the righteous.”-39- Zachariah exclaimed, “My Lord! How can I have a son when I am very old and my wife is barren?” He replied, “So will it be. Allah does what He wills.” -40- Zachariah said, “My Lord! Grant me a sign.” He said, “Your sign is that you will not ˹be able to˺ speak to people for three days except through gestures. Remember your Lord often and glorify ˹Him˺ morning and evening.”-41- And ˹remember˺ when the angels said, “O Mary! Surely Allah has selected you, purified you, and chosen you over all women of the world. -42- O Mary! Be devout to your Lord, prostrate yourself ˹in prayer˺ and bow along with those who bow down.”-43- This is news of the unseen that We reveal to you ˹O Prophet˺. You were not with them when they cast lots to decide who would be Mary’s guardian, nor were you there when they argued ˹about it˺.-44- ˹Remember˺ when the angels proclaimed, “O Mary! Allah gives you good news of a Word1 from Him, his name will be the Messiah,2 Jesus, son of Mary; honoured in this world and the Hereafter, and he will be one of those nearest ˹to Allah˺.-45- And he will speak to people in ˹his˺ infancy and adulthood and will be one of the righteous.” -46- Mary wondered, “My Lord! How can I have a child when no man has ever touched me?” An angel replied, “So will it be. Allah creates what He wills. When He decrees a matter, He simply tells it, ‘Be!’ And it is! -47- And Allah will teach him writing and wisdom, the Torah and the Gospel,-48- and ˹make him˺ a messenger to the Children of Israel ˹to proclaim,˺ ‘I have come to you with a sign from your Lord: I will make for you a bird from clay, breathe into it, and it will become a ˹real˺ bird-by Allah’s Will. I will heal the blind and the leper and raise the dead to life-by Allah’s Will. And I will prophesize what you eat and store in your houses. Surely in this is a sign for you if you ˹truly˺ believe. -49- And I will confirm the Torah revealed before me and legalize some of what had been forbidden to you. I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, so be mindful of Allah and obey me. -50- Surely Allah is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him ˹alone˺. This is the Straight Path.’” -51- When Jesus sensed disbelief from his people, he asked, “Who will stand up with me for Allah?” The disciples replied, “We will stand up for Allah. We believe in Allah, so bear witness that we have submitted.” -52- ˹They prayed to Allah,˺ “Our Lord! We believe in Your revelations and follow the messenger, so count us among those who bear witness.” -53- And the disbelievers made a plan ˹against Jesus˺, but Allah also planned-and Allah is the best of planners.-54- ˹Remember˺ when Allah said, “O Jesus! I will take you1 and raise you up to Myself. I will deliver you from those who disbelieve, and elevate your followers above the disbelievers until the Day of Judgment. Then to Me you will ˹all˺ return, and I will settle all your disputes. -55- As for those who disbelieve, I will subject them to a severe punishment in this life and the Hereafter, and they will have no helpers. -56- And as for those who believe and do good, they will be rewarded in full. And Allah does not like the wrongdoers.” -57- We recite ˹all˺ this to you ˹O Prophet˺ as one of the signs1 and ˹as˺ a wise reminder. -58- Indeed, the example of Jesus in the sight of Allah is like that of Adam. He created him from dust, then said to him, “Be!” And he was! -59- This is the truth from your Lord, so do not be one of those who doubt. -60- }} Al-Imaran Al-Quran Al-Kareem

      I am a Christian who was raised Southern Baptist but now I am non-denominational.
      I've always had questions about faith and religion and how it correlates to mine or how it doesn't but here's where I'm stumped:
      In our Christian faith we are taught to honor our Mother & Father & so therefore in a lot of Christian households, we are taught about the Bible.
      So how can we look at other religions as being "wrong" whenever they likely had a similar way of adopting religion (through family)?
      I have met so many wonderful people from all different religions & it's incredibly hard to condemn someone for their religious beliefs because we can't even collectively define religion itself. Just to reiterate, I believe the Gospel but I would like someone from the Christian faith to explain to me how someone who was born Muslim and died Muslim who never knew Jesus will not be entering the Kingdom of Heaven???
      Any thoughts on this would be welcomed.

      Islam is a vision for life. It is a system for how to live on this planet with 7+ billion human beings and make sure everyone is taken care of. It makes heroes out of boys and it makes scholars out of mothers. This Deen of Islam is the correct solution for life, and the Secular system is man made garbage. if the conversation was more focused on solutions, then the discussion would be far less about subjective views and beliefs. or random claims like "i will look at this as a psychologist" or "no I would not accept something with enough proven evidence". The best way to destroy your enemy is to make them your friend.
    If we find ourselves on opposite sides of a theory, idea, way of life, we notice that there are many differences. We don't seem to find it as easy to notice similarities, but they are there, nonetheless. It's okay to follow different paths, for they lead to the same destination anyway. The sooner we see this, the sooner we can get along and allow each other the undertaking of different paths. Worship however you want in your way but let others do the same in their own way too. Celebrate each other's diversity, rather than hate it.
    One problem we're facing is that we're not allowing others the freedom to follow their own path, live in their own home, or talk to other people. We're building walls where we should be building bridges. We're segregating and oppressing instead of welcoming and sharing. We are making many mistakes right now.
    One thing to focus on, in order to fix things, is to ask yourself; Do you want to leave the world a better place for your children and everyone else's children, or do you want to leave them a pile of smouldering rubble?

      In order for God to get into man, God had to become a man through incarnation to be the real sacrifice once for all for all our sins and to nail the old creation, the law, etc and death and Satan on the cross. And through resurrection to become the All-inclusive life giving Spirit that when we believe and confess that Jesus is Lord will be saved from there sins and receive the life of God to express God in life and nature but not His Godhead. (God the father in Christ Jesus as the Spirit flowing into man). The purpose of life is to express God here on earth for eternity not to go to heaven.

      I think you are letting Muhammed decieve you, He is a fullblown islamist and his mission is to see to that Islam dominates the world. There is absolutley no point in discussing anything with him.

    Wow! This was mysitcal to say the least! I felt like a veil was pulled back that's never been lifted before. That being said, I want MORE! This needed to be 8 hours long at least, so they could each take their time and fully follow each thought, with multiple days even! God bless you all!

      This wasnt mystical. It was actually quite silly. One guy believes in god and the other doesn't even know what god is ot means and overcomplicates every argument until you lose track of what the point is.

      Agreed. The word “Iman” in Islam, which is often incompletely translated as “faith” or “belief”, actually encompasses faith in the heart, affirmation with the tongue and manifestation in action. Without all components, one’s “Iman” is considered incomplete.

      @@a4482921 great reminder, but it shows it should be on all levels.. because the real intention is so important for why a person doing what he is doing.. is it fame, power, wealth, satisfy getting attention, need to feel important, satisfy his mom or doing good (but what better than goodness that our creater is asking us to do ) thats how I see it.. but eventually the only one know our real intention is our creator who knows what in our hearts

    This was absolutely incredible! I just love to see people who have very different worldviews getting along, agreeing to disagree, and having the bravery to get right to the point about things people in the past would have been KILLED over to discuss. I shared a tear with Peterson at the end as well.

    I greatly appreciated the opportunity to hear this conversation. A lot of us are questioning what is happening around us more and more. Such discussions have traditionally been held between intellectuals, philosophers, and theologians, leaving the common man in the dark. Being an audience to such conversations helps sift through some thoughts, biases, and concerns we have in a seemingly more confused world. This hit the mark.

      *Who explains to us why the Koran says Christians believe God has a biological son!*
      To all Muslims! Son of God means NOT SON! What is called the son of God is the word of God = god himself! Which has nothing to do with a child (son)! Thus, the Son of God is incarnated as the human Jesus and the human Jesus is therefore referred to as a son, which does not mean a son!

      Hebr 1,2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, *by whom also he made the worlds;*
      as everyone can see the term Son of God refers to the Word of God = god himself! For through that God created the worlds! *what a mistake in the Qur'an!*
