My son was severely disabled, non verbal and had cerebral palsy and spastic quadriplegia, he also had the best laugh in the world, an amazing personality and a love for life and music until he took his last breath at 27 years old. I don’t think the value of someone else’s life should be decided by any outside force, and especially not a bunch of corrupt, lying, narcissistic politicians.

I am a full time carer for my severely autistic 22 year son. Ill be doing this job, happily, till I die. I understand exactly what you mean mate. Reading that you lost your boy made me cry. Although my son has a mental age of a five year old, I can not imagine losing him because he's taught me more about life than any philosopher. I'm so sorry...

@@anthonybrett I was very lucky and blessed to have him in my life as long as I did, his prognosis according to Doctor’s was that they didn’t think he would live past 11 years of age, so I was blessed with many more years than that and each one of those years was a gift for me, as he was an amazing human despite his life being very difficult and him often being in more pain than anyone should be. I was very lucky to have him in my life. I wish you and your son many more years of time together, but in the end it’s never enough years when your child goes before you do, I hope that is something you never have to face. I have a lot of happy memories and the belief he is somewhere better than here and no longer in anymore pain.❤️

I am a sixty six year old Woman. I have been diagnosed with many autoimmune illnesses which are slowly changing my way of life. This has made me realize that if I don't control the things I can control like my diet, I am going to become more miserable as I age. As I moniter what I eat, I have learned that I respect myself more. I have found that I can focus now on feeling more sensations that I hadnt remembered since I was a child.
The joy of being in a warm bath or pool. Also, the soft feel of a fluffy blanket or petting a cute animal.
    Beautiful things and music.
If we concentrate on our inner self, our other senses come to the fore and fill in the gaps of what we were used to having. I am growing even though I am elderly. It's an amazing thing.
I have had to look after myself since I was a small child and I have experienced some terrible things and I was bitter for years. I have come to the conclusion that it is up to me to help me. If I can be less dependant on the outer World and be more dependant on the inner me I have found that I am on another road of self acceptance.
It has been a wonderful experience listening to you both. Thank you.

Dear lady ! I m in a similar situation with illnesses cumulating etc. I discovered some remarkable contradictory experiences. That inner happiness is independent from outer circumstances like being paralysed during several hours multiple times daily. The body and brain have a protocol and answer and are able to produce in some way deep in the belly a happiness that is greater that all happiness I ever experienced at once. Perhaps the pressure of the realisation that physical death is coming breaks down the legitimation of unhappy feelings . Like : I am so and so deeply sick thus : I am so and so deeply unhappy. That equation breaks down and sometimes the extraordinary happens. Thank you for your post ! You’re my angel. it helps me in controlling the many things I should not do. In order to ameliorate the paralysis at least now and then.

It's nice to listen to people who have learned some things that work in life, but also double check each other and finally most importantly keep learning what works and sharing it with others. Leave what doesn't work for people and the earth behind where it belongs. Embrace and share what does work to have better lives and futures for as many as possible.
Talking about a person spending twenty years strapped to a board in a straight jack in the basement of an insane asylum or hospital sounds like a problem that should have been solved around 19 years and 11+ months sooner as peacefully and wisely as possible. Nobody should live suffering like that any longer than the soonest it can be solved. Error and trial until you find something better!

Murray: "These people have no chance." Please examine the memories of the "White Guards", those who fought with the Bolsheviks ("Red Guards"). They also believed that the Bolsheviks have no chance and that the people would understand everything and after a short time will overthrow the Bolsheviks. I am from Eastern Europe. In my youth, I was a member of the Communist Party, until I was disappointed. You still do not see global coordination and purposefulness of sophisticated actions and the power of these left -wing political movements that have entered into an alliance with bureaucracy and the world oligarchy (see Vivek Ramaswamy). And I also want to ask you to discuss a possible collective resistance plan. This is an illusion that you can defeat them preaching individual stoicism. Instead, they admire adepts of any idea that might even sound nice on the surface, from communism to Islamism, as long as it helps to destroy Western civilization. So very much enjoyed this interview. I really connected with the idea of exposure therapy and facing your fears. As a small child I was absolutely terrified by car washes, I thought these machines were going to break through the windows and we'd die violently. I would have a major melt down, some adults in my family thought it was hilarious to take me through them and watch me go into hysterics, laughing at my terror. But my father took me aside. Explained to me to trust him, I would be safe, he would take me through it and I would be ok. I remember him sitting me in the front seat and knowing that my father (in my childs eye) was the bravest strongest man ever and he would never lie to me, I took a deep breath and sat quietly while we drove through the car wash. I was never afraid again. After listening to this interview I see my father taught me a life skill that day. Ever after when I find fear gripping me by something, I move forward into it, facing my fear, not allowing it to control me. I am ever grateful to my father for moments like this in my life. And it's wonderful to hear JP and DM discuss why this works. To me fear is a flag to pay attention but then not to allow it to over come you. Courage is necessary to live life fully.

What I will say is for most people myself included when you've finally had enough of letting drugs ruin your life and making it a living hell, you can quit no matter where you are. I got sober in a VOA homeless shelter, while I was there I witnessed tremondous abrupt violence, suicide, drugs were everywhere, corruption amongst the staff everything from having sex with residents, aquiring drugs for them, stealing from residents, faking drug test results, planting contraband etc. Yet despite all of that, including a SWAT team raid of the facility after a resident in meth induced psychosis attempted to murder everyone in the facility with a particularly brutal instrument, whom we finally were able to lock in the bathroom where he proceeded to hang himself and die before the SWAT team arrived. Despite all of that horror, depravity and drugs I was able to stay sober and rebuild my life. It took monumental effort but once I realized I was the person causing all of my problems and that my solutions to the vicissitudes of life we're causing my life to be unbearable, I finally reached a bottom from which I could rebuild a foundation for the rest of my life. From a guy who weighed over 700 pounds, was bed bound for almost 6 years in the same room, i was on oxygen 24 hours a day, people such as yourself Jordan have inspired me on my weight loss journey I’m on my way to losing almost 300 pounds so far and I’m working hard to reach my weight loss goal! I hit a plateau last year, and I’ve been back at it since March, but thank you for being so inspiring! Keep them videos coming Jordan! I’ve been walking now and out of that old hospital bed for over 2 years now. Still rehabbing my body, but im getting there and I feel absolutely amazing!
    Let’s be courageous!
    Peace and one love,
    Matt Entizne

These two intellectuals are at the highest point of my collection of brilliant minds capable of uplifting the world to a higher standard. They exhibit precision, logical thinking, and possess the essential discernment required for leaders and individuals who, with their charisma, aid in the world's emergence from the depths of ignorance and self-indulgence.

I wonder if the reaction some other people have that is almost instantly aggressive is because they cannot eat all of the information and so since they do not have the stomach for it - to use a turn of phrase - the truth ends up regurgitated up on their bib which they then in turn clean in the comments via what can only be looked at as leftovers and worse.

@@patcris9957 Laughable comment. As though all humans aren't at risk of the same dangers, chemical addiction among them, regardless of ability. I hope you'll never be in that position; you'd be surprised at how quickly your rationality and willpower go out the door.

SUCH respect to Dr. Peterson for his delving deep into Biblical and other religious narratives and elucidating the meaning for us.

    • @diananeuman6222
      @diananeuman6222 Рік тому +1

But he's not elucidating the meaning. He's filtering it all through jungian thought. He never really gets the true meaning. Jesus' death and resurrection is not just a myth. It happened. For every human on earth. Jesus died for your sins. He is the way to God. He is not a myth.

These conversations are so important to us as a species.
Do they math on the number of trivial videos (i.e not discussing anything with a meaningful social/financial/political impact) / the number of meaningful videos.
There are so FEW intellectually useful discussions like this, that it is hard to exaggerate the importance of these conversations.
They are both national treasures of their respective homelands.

Linguistically spoken, your conversations are extraordinarily fertile, just like in the field of ideas. Thank you so much ❤
