    Beach deep is deeper than low conductor on the Manticore. Prospecting audio for beach deep as well. The problem with these "comparisons" is even when folks arent trying to be biased, the machine they really like is set optimally while the one they arent so keene about has some questionable settings, which inherently skews the results.

      I think the manticore could have a few more points of sensitivity, and that would change the game. I say this without knowing it but at 22 it was fine and he lowered it to 21... I am in doubt between the two machines and this video does not help me to decide

    Hello, why did you take the beach low conductors mode which is the least powerful mode for the beach while the general beach mode and the beach deep mode are more powerful, they would have found it deeper than the deus 2

    HEY!!! so I just came across your channel and I did subscribe. I've owned a cheap detector now for a little while and saved some cash so I can buy 1 QUALITY MACHINE. I'm not gonna be buying detectors every couple months like some people but I want something good now. I have 2,500 for just the detector and would value your opinion on 1. I'm in nj on the east coast of the the states and looking for waterproof ocean proof, beach sand, and hard dirt detecting. What would you choose with 2,500 to spend(im not looking for value for money, I'm looking for the best I can get within 2,500 dollars)? A few people now tell me the manticore or deus 2 but leave it at that... I love to get your opinion on 1 or the other UNLESS YOU HAVE A DIFFERENT FAVORITE..... THANKS

    I agree with the other comments I've seen here. People want to see these comparisons in the field. If I should be so lucky as to get a Minelab Manticore,to go along with the XP D2, then I would run a few of those comparisons myself. Late to the game of course but why not. I have some ideas for videos I haven't seen elsewhere. My biggest complaint is aluminum.

    I believe Tom Dankowski (NASA-Tom) was one of the testers of the Manticore. On his forum he has written an extensive piece of how to get the best out the Manticore. One of his top tips for using higher sensitivity, is to do the noise cancel for 13 seconds, I believe he calls this the ‘Long Press’. Using this method, might give you the chance to increase the sensitivity beyond 21.
    His quote is ‘’NEVER, NEVER be afraid to use the HECK out of LONG PRESS Noise Cancel. It is the heartbeat of MC’’
    Just a thought !

      I said the same thing on his last video he did on the beach comparing these two. He still didn't do it.. Not a fair comparison if you ask me. Running one machine way hotter than the other.

    • @RelicsRings
      @RelicsRings  Рік тому +3

      Yea not fair I know, not going to argue with that. Did I noise cancel the D2 at all that you saw? You know why because there's not much EMI in the area. If there's no EMI it's a mute point. Not to mention the fact that once you hit the sand with the Manticore coil at higher sensitivity levels (23 and above) the Manticore is falsing every few inches. Tom Dankowski has watched my videos and given me tips to try but on this particular high salt content beach the settings shown are the best for the Manticore as far as I can tell. If it will make you guys feel better I will do a video where I go through every possible mode, GB, noise cancel, etc. to see if it makes a difference. I've done these things already, but if the video shows different I stand corrected and will welcome the better performance from the Manticore. But in the end we are splitting hairs here, the D2 on this beach is maybe a 1/2" deeper that's it. They are both really good beach machines and I enjoy hunting with both.

      Both are very capable - If you've already been using one platform (XP / Minelab) you will find yourself easily stepping into the new detector. Still waiting for Minelab to get accessory coils out into the market and thus far I've not heard of a release date for them. I have much more experience with the Minelabs so after working with both the Deus 2 and the Manticore decided to continue with the Minelabs. The Manticore fits my particular detecting needs more closely. Good luck with whichever you choose.

      @@RelicsRings Hello my friend, which device is better for soil?

  • @delucrt1100
    @delucrt1100 Рік тому +1

    It's a shame that you use the low conductors program to find deep targets. You use more power in the high frequencies to find small fine material. The device is designed that way. For depth testing, use general or high conductors, then you get better depth, more stable device and you will at least be able to use a little more sensitivity because the 21 you use now is 60% of the power. Compared to the deus 2 at 95%,Not really fair test. First get to know the manticore a little better, start with the manual and see which program is used for what.

    • @RelicsRings
      @RelicsRings  Рік тому +2

      Well I would think after using the Manticore on this particular beach for close to 50 hours I would have it figured out. General and high conductor performed no better in the tests I've done. 21 or 22 is about as high as I can get the sensitivity in any mode except sea water. So what you say may work on your beach but not mine. Salt here is 8 times greater than the ocean.

    • @delucrt1100
      @delucrt1100 Рік тому +1

      @@RelicsRings ok, so what you're saying now is that a detector as an example.... A low frequency is only going to go as deep as a high frequency with the same sensitivity...... Salt is always most recognized by high frequencies. Oh yes, I only added a few zeros at hours of use. 😉

      @luc van assche I'm not going argue with you. You know better than I apparently. Both detectors were setup similarly, one performed better than the other in this scenario at this beach. I will say that the Manticore does seem to be better at small low conductors than the D2. In either case you're splitting hairs regardless of the mode used between the two detectors.
