  • I’m not a qualified electrician but happy to have a go at simple tasks. As a quick search showed lots of people had issues with the power switch breaking on the E3.5 and E4.5 speakers I thought I would put together a little video to show it’s no too scary a job to replace the switch and that the one off the RS Components website does the job and costs less than a fiver.
! A word of warning before you start. Once you take the back cover off, be mindful of the transformer attached to it as it could hold some residual electricity which could give you a shock if you touch it.
If you don’t have an RS Components in your country you could use the data sheet on the website to find something similar as it seems to be a common size. The one I got is rated 12 amps and I saw someone else used one rated 10 amps which worked.
The one I got is illuminated as I couldn’t see one that wasn’t and for the switch to fit you have to fit it with off at the top and on at the bottom which is the reverse of the original but no big deal.
    uk.rs-online.com / web / p / rocker-switches / 4685380 (remove spaces)
Here is a link to a none illuminated switch that will work but if you have an RS Components near you can collect and avoid the delivery cost

For everyone: The original rocker switch model is the "Huaconn HS6-Y2-6-04Q100-BB03"💡 and the diameter is 23mm.
    Hope it helps! 😄

I ended up finding your video on the ifixit forum today while searching for a solution to my broken power switch button. Had to do some digging for the switch on my end since I'm in the U.S, but I ended up finding out that it uses a "4 pin On-Off Round Rocker Switch DPST" which i'm buying off of Ebay. @@vadoaviveredasolo Hi, I would say by you turning them off probably avoided them being storm damaged. Obviously anything could be broken that is preventing them from turning on and it probably will not be clear unless you have electrical testing equipment. What i would say is the the fault this fix is for is when the switch no longer physically moves to the on/off position correctly. You can feel something isn't right when you flick the switch. Be careful if you are messing around inside with the other components as there is a big capacitor which could give you a nasty shock if you touch the board, it is best to unplug and leave it for a while. Good luck. Did you try changing the fuse in the plug?

@@beamer1001 grazie. Grazie ancora: certo, farò tutto a spina staccata!
