    I have seen a lot of strongmen using two belts but never understood why. Any insight please Graham?

    • @m.w.4508
      @m.w.4508 2 місяці тому

      The first belt isn't a traditional weightlifting belt and is usually used as a recovery tool/brace for people who have strained their back. The one I have has two metal rods in the back that are much longer than the width of typical weight lifting belt and run parallel up either side of the spine. They provide a good amount of comfortable support over a very wide area. The weight lifting belt on top provides much tighter, constrictive force over a much smaller area. The two combined help to create maximal "intra abdominal pressure." I.E they squeeze your so tight you feel like you're gonna sh*te yourself and can barely breath between reps.

    Reference for normal people.... Even the 270 set with loads of reps is unbelievable. The speed up on those reps, all of the reps, is mind boggling. 270 is an absolute massive weight!!! I am absolutely sure you will be the WR holder in deadlift in not too distante future given that you can do this without any huge setbacks. Cheering you on from Norway, you are my absolute favorite deadlifter! Stay insanely strong!

    Do you like pulling with your back? If you notice, your hips shoot high before the weight comes off the ground, it looks like you're initiating the pulls mostly with your back. Your deadlift will sky rocket if you incorporate proper leg press-drive off the floor

    • @romanstingler435
      @romanstingler435 2 місяці тому

      His hamstrings are as long as your height. Large lifters are typically more pulling than pressing. Watch ed coan team super deadlift

    • @DanHill-ic4lz
      @DanHill-ic4lz 2 місяці тому +1

      He has proper leg drive. Knees extend to get the weight moving. Hips extend to finish it. There's very little back in his form. This is the way he has to lift according to his femur, arm, and torso length.

    • @CryptoParalysis
      @CryptoParalysis 2 місяці тому

       @DanHill-ic4lz Could be I just see it differently, if you look at the 2 strongest deadlifters Eddie 500kg and Thor 501kg, you will notice though very different statures they both pull from a deep leg press position, especially on those 500kg pulls

    505kg was a good thumbnail, had me wondering WTF :-)

      Graham probably has more chance of 500 than Makarov does because, Graham has peaks much better than Makarov does also Graham doesn't do dodgy things on a deadlift bar. Makarov was adding weird stuff to his bar one session

      If you followed Graham like I have,you will know despite being a very good deadlifter, it was far from.his strongest lift
      It's only these last couple of years he has threw his hat in the ring as one of the very elite. His deadlift progress in recent times has been crazy. It wasn't that long ago he wasn't close to 1000lb
      I think he can do it. His progress has been excellent in recent times and he's statically a very strong guy
      Other than Thor he is guy I think can do it.
