Omg I still have my og indigo gba from day 1. I remember going to toys r us with my brother and he bought me one too when he went to pick his up from a preorder. I was so happy because I only had a n64 and a gbc. This thing felt so futuristic and awesome, especially with this silly flood light attachment I got so I could play in the dark. Somehow that same gameboy had survived until today. I’m definitely going to get one of these and add it to the collection. I really enjoy your enthusiasm and energy in the video.
That attachment was amazing! I should find one for this new device! Hahaha a GBA and Toys R Us are the best memories for me too! I'm glad you liked the video
cant wait till mine comes in seeing all that you can do with it makes me excited ive never owned a gba before so this is new to me i had gba on gamecube with the gb player and on snes with super gameboy player, however i owned the og gameboy as a kid so this makes me happy
Ooh, it's like a horizontal version of the device in your avatar, same color, fitting! I have an Advance from back in the day. I eventually imported an Advance SP and the backlit screen was an amazing upgrade at the time so maybe it's dulled my love for the original Advance. I suppose I'm spoiled having now 4 different recent devices of various price points to choose from and when you look at the wealth of Anbernic devices it's probably even more easy to become a little jaded, although they do make devices in ever shape and size to fill your hands and tickle the nostalgia lobe.
Yes! I actually want to change my avatar to a horizontal handheld but then it's hard to fit in a circle for the profile picture. I really love that there is a device for every kind of nostalgia these days
You can actually just copy your stardew save file and continue it here. You can also setup syncthing. I didn't because my steam SV is moded, and ports are not supprted other than xnb mods. So i just keep it separate
Try using PPSSPP's Aspect Ratio to make PSP games better fit the screen. Around 0.87 should fill more of the screen without really stretching it too much
There's a work in progress Dolphin core for MuOS you can find but the performance isn't there yet. I managed to play Blood Omen 2 at a lower resolution and unstable fps. Not ideal but It works.
I really hope we can get Pokémon Violet running at solid 30fps Iv seen 2 people getting breath of the wild running at 30fps and other person got it running 27-30fps with latest turnip
D pad is a disappointment. They reshaped the bottom compared to the original. When you are playing tetris or Mrs pacman, and I'm sure other games as well you get false directions. I like it other than that but I'll be reselling mine.
@@RyanRetro1 Yep, also Anbernic already has a GBA SP clone. But Miyoo just released the Miyoo Flip, but that's already sold out. We don't know when the next batch is out, ready for purchase.
@@RyanRetro1GameCube isn't going to work either. H700 devices top out at PSP, N64, and Dreamcast. They're budget sub-$70 devices. That's why you gotta pay $150+ to play Gen 6 consoles.
This is becoming a problem, too many brands are trying to make the "perfect handheld", but seriously, why the hell would something called the "Anbernic RG34XX" become a household name? Im honestly just sticking to sony, apple, samsung, xbox, nintendo and thats it, like i get that creating consoles/handhelds is a good way to make money, but its too much at this point.
It's a niche market that isn't geared towards the average consumer, especially not someone wanting to play the most current and up to date games. It's okay, you can keep playing 2K, Fortnite and Warzone, nobody is stopping you.
Can’t wait for Ryan to run PS3 games on this thing 😂
Last Of Us on GBA incoming!
@@RyanRetro1 Demakes _are_ a thing. I could see it happening!
I'm excited for the Mario 64 GBA demake that is being dev logged here on UA-cam
@@TheRealAlpha2 Last of Us for Pico-8. Someone get on it lol.

Exactly 1,000 views right now - never seen that before! Great video as video as always
Wow, that's awesome! Thank you!

It's got a lot of potential for sure!
@RyanRetro1 seems like it. Thanks for the video. And the og gb I owned in the 90s I went on to Game Gear shortly after
This is the best gba form factor of all time.
Facts!
I wanted the AGB-101 as soon as it came out. But all the images and blogs about the screen made me hold off. Now I have the best version.
Anbernic RG34XX = King of GBA Emulation
Powkiddy V10 = Prince of GBA Emulation

I believe these retro handhelds run stardew at 30FPS, whereas steam deck and android stardew will generally run at 60 FPS
Looks great!
It's much better than I expected tbh!
@@RyanRetro1 He wasn't talking about the device!
@@jeffrey.vadewa Haha
I used to own the OG indigo GBA... I'll be getting a black model asap
It's so nostalgic!
Really beautiful device 🙏
Definitely!
Happy New Year Ryan! I hope it goes well for you! 🍀

Please test more Anbernic!
I'd love to!

Awesome - thanks for the info!
So…. It is no longer an “everything Retroid Pocket 5” channel anymore.
It is everything Retroid Pocket 5 and also other handhelds too
Try using PPSSPP's Aspect Ratio to make PSP games better fit the screen. Around 0.87 should fill more of the screen without really stretching it too much
Thanks for the advice!
Great video, Ryan, love your honest excitement and enthusiasm for handhelds! 🍻🔥🤘🏼
Thank you! It's fantastic!
Could you do a vid showing how you got stardew on this device, thanks.
Sure I'm making a video about this device soon so I'll include it in there
Ryan tries PS2/GameCube
Rg34xx's pained screams:"I THOUGHT YOU LIKED ME!"
I am going to ring this thing out like a towel
Ryan can you show Retroid pocket 5 accessories
I'd love to

pokemon red, my favourite.. checks notes, gameboy advance game
:D
Everything is a gameboy advance game on this!
Are you ever planning on reviewing the Odin 2 mini
No I'm not going to be buying that one - but I will be getting the Odin 2 Portal soon!
Need that iceberg color
OMG! You had a face all along!!!
Don't tell anyone!

Stop! You are making me buy another device!!😂
Haha you don't need to if you already have a good one!
I will only even consider buying one of these if there's an arctic blue version.
Maybe one day!
You should play the halo combat evolved demake on it haha xD
Oh what is that?
Bro? Do you say this because u get this for free or is this your oppinion?
I don't get anything for free, I paid for this

That's a shame. It feels great to me but I haven't played those games where it's imperative to act accurately yet.
I can't wait to get mines!
Is that the android version of stardew
It's the Steam version
that’s crazy how does that work? I was going to pick up one of these
H700 chipset can not play PS2 at all!

Stock firmware w the 12/23/24,
V.1.0.2 update is way better than MU OS!!
Does it support Portmaster? I heard we need Knulli or MuOS for Portmaster which is why I switched it out

Yeah just stick to Sony and their catchy product names like their Sony WH1000XM4/B headphones haha
