    First up is the Pet Spectator! Which is probably the coolest pet I’ve ever had in Baldur’s Gate 3. This Floating Aberration has Wounding Ray, Fly, and Bite. Not only that, it has a great health pool and looks absolutely amazing following you around and taking down your opponents with ease. To get this incredibly rare pet there are two things you need - the Iron Flask from the Zhentarim in Act 1 and a moonlantern. The Iron Flask contains a Spectator that is released when thrown and the Moon Lantern causes targets to get affected by the shadow curse after losing Moonshield. Without Moonshield affecting the Spectator first, for some reason the Spectator won’t get afflicted by the Shadowcurse. So to pull this off, summon the Spectator and make sure it gets affected by your moon lantern. Once it has, put the moon lantern away and bring its health as low as you can without slaying it, then lure it away from any light source so it gets affected by the shadow-curse and make sure it dies to the shadow curse. Shadowheart is immune to the shadow curse if you want to use her for this. When the Spectator dies by the shadow curse it will immediately gain a condition called Umbral Influx which revives the Spectator as a Shadow Cursed Undead, allowing you to use the Oathbreaker Paladin Class Action Control Undead on it! Absolutely amazing! It’s level 5 so make sure to be at least level 6, and use Control Undead on your new incredible pet Spectator.
    And next up is how you can also get a pet Kobald through the same method as the Spectator. In the Roseymourne Monastery there is a Firewine Barrel that has a Kobold Looter inside. If you pick it up and just like with the spectator apply moonshield to it in the Shadow-Cursed Lands and then put the lantern away, you can have the kobold die to the shadow curse and be risen as a shadow-cursed undead and use control undead on it. This Kobold is going to be purely for fun because of it’s tiny health pool it’s not going to last very long in combat and frankly control undead would be better used on something stronger.
    And next up is how to summon a Spectral Flumph! A spectral Flumph is considered an Aberration and sort of resembles a jellyfish of sorts. It has a cool passive feature called Ethereal which marks the entity as a ghost which cannot be shoved, thrown, nor used as an improvised melee weapon for those savages who were already thinking about that. This Tiny creature is primarily used as an explosive device, only lasting until the end of turn in which it was summoned, exploding for 1d6 force damage to each creature within 7 feet. To summon the Spectral Flumph, you’ll need to be a Wild Magic Barbarian, a subclass that I think it one of the most underrated when it comes to fun. You’ll be able to summon a maximum of 10 Specral Flumphs, 1 per turn as the effect only lasts 10 turns. Very interestingly though, these Wild Magic barbarians have access to 7 other incredibly fun and all positive wild magic effects. Unlike the Wild Magic Sorcerer which has some neutral or straight-up negative wild magic effects. You can cause Dark Trendrils to shoot outward in all directions dealing 1d12 necrotic damage and granting you 1d12 temporary hitpoints, gain teleport as a bonus action, shoot radiant damage out of your chest which can blind, summon what looks like a swarm of fairies to protect you with their light, and more. And to top it all off, once you reach level 11, each time you get hit you can activate a new wild magic effect letting you enjoy a new one thanks to Unstable Backlash which can be used as a Reaction. Super cool.
    Next up is a really cool interaction with armour of agathys which deals 30 cold damage to any creature that hits you with a melee attack, and using Arcane Ward, it persists, allowing you to repeatedly deal an incredible amount of damage to melee attackers without even using actions or bonus actions. To do this you’ll need to be an Abjuration Wizard for Arcane Ward. Arcane Ward blocks damage equal to its charges and then loses 1 charge.

    You can learn to summon Shovel as a Draconic Sorc and Warlock just by speaking to her. As a Sorc you have to specifically choose the "I just have dragon blood" line because Shovel is afraid of Sorcerers

    For the wizard dip, I think you can just equip the intellect head band for 17int, set 4 spells to your spell list, then take the headband off. While it will only show 1 spell, you still have access to cast all 4.

    For the wizard dip, the inverse is also possible where you can have a sorcerer or whatever with spells that scale primarily off int by respecting into wizard and learning all your scrolls, then just not replacing them with other class versions as you level. I like to do this because I can have all of my utility spells permanently by taking them as sorcerer and then having my damage spells customizable and all scaling from Int instead of charisma. Basically removes need to stack charisma as a sorcerer, just go int instead and have every spell in game

    One more interesting fact. You can loot unique Father's axe (with sinister description) in house where you were playing hide and seek with Oliver (act 2). It's just a normal axe, but with unique name and description. I think noone mentioned it in the intrnet.

    First trick appears to apply to any non undead creature that dies in the shadow curse and is effected by said curse, so long as you don't kill them with a critical hit. Although this does not appear to be 100% effective there it is not necessary for them to die to the shadow curse or even necessarily be effected by the moon lantern first as I have seen the umbral curse resurrection happen while having no light whatsoever and using the pixie's blessing for protection.

    You can actually break the Abjurer/Agathys combo even further if you go 2 levels into sorc (White Draconic to grab AoAg)
    For some reason if you use Extend Spell on Arcane Lock it doubles the max amount of ward charges you can have.
    Meaning at max level (Wiz 10/Sorc 2) you can get 40 charges of Arcane Ward for the cost of a 2nd level slot and a single sorcery point.

    I've been thinking on doing a build with some of the various pets you can get, Thing is though is the Spectator pet process only viable for having it through out act 2 or can you keep it into act 3? I just really don't feel like going through such a complex process if it isn't some thing you can maintain the rest of the game once you do it.

Idk if this was patched out, buts been like that since before the most recent patch. Just a warning to anyone who wants to use that. The level 1 wizard dip does not work.

      The wizard level Dip Does matter. If you have an 8 in intelligence you won't have anymore than 1 spell. You need to give her 10 Int or give her Headband of Int or it won't give you enough slots

    I'm not sure if it's just the Shadow curse undead or if it's a bug with control undead but the controlled undead creature becomes hostile upon reloading your save file.

    • @SpectrumTwist
      @SpectrumTwist 4 місяці тому

      this is clearly a bug.... because it doesn't matter wtf you do.... everything even animate dead will immediately cause them to become hostile upon loading a save, doesn't matter where, or when, you could literally cast the spell, succeed, immediately save, even quick save, and load and presto, you've wasted your spell slot/spell entirely, and you have what is still labeled as controlled undead creature that is hostile and even IF you have another caster capable of casting control undead, the hostile creature remains hostile.

Especially compared to the other 2 sub-classes. One of the wild magic abilities makes your attacks deal 1d6 extra damage... wow.... so great. While A frenzy barbarian can get an extra attack, dealing like 30 extra damage instead.

      @elenalizabeth 4 місяці тому +1

      Or maybe English isn’t their first language. And seeing as it’s spelt so similar, they likely assumed it was pronounced the same.
      English is a difficult language to learn after all - when bard and card sound similar, but ward sounds more like cord. Or when mouse plural is mice, but house plural is houses.
      And to make it even more complicated the US has different spelling of words to the rest of the world - ie words like neighbour, colour, paediatric, gynaecology, etc all are minus a letter in the US (minus the “u” in the first two and minus the “a” in the second two)
