As a 70+ guy, UA-cam has given me a hobby that totally fills my days with learning, testing, filming, audio, ...its just great ... certainly keeps you going. Have nearly a 100 videos up now. Some vids I'm happy with some I'm not, but I keep trying to learn and acquire new skills. It's just a great experience and will leave a legacy for my family and friends.
Just wanna say Thank you man. You've made it feel possible to do the impossible for a lot of people, myself included. Loved the thumbnail & title tip, it's sure as hell the most important things to get views. I'm about a year or so into building my channel, love everything you're saying here. Thank you for this clear and direct message. See you in a few years when my channel blows up and stuff. :)
I remember finding you in late 2016, around December I think. I got into doing videos for my yearbook class (like ads and announcements.) I was looking up tutorials to make my videos better and more entertaining so students wouldn't be bored when watching the video in class. I was so excited to find you and follow your tutorials for my videos in the class. I was telling everyone around me, classmates, my teacher, just about anyone who was interested. I was always into photography and kinda interested in video, but never did much with either. You inspired me to try to follow photo and video because of your photos and the insane videos you make. So thanks for starting UA-cam or I would have never found you :)
Happy birthday! Thank you for the inspiration as always! PS - I’d do 50% less zoom cuts or whatever you’d call it. Got distracting half way through the vide

Yes. No matter what we are doing. When I listen to people like Peter and Gary Vee, I am not listening to become who they are or do what they are doing. I am listening and gathering encouragement to become what I want to be and do what I want to do. Or deeper. To become on the outside, who I have really become and am becoming on the inside. Happy Birthday in the middle of MAY!!!!! :D. All this advice in this video is a great reminder of how to do this! I have 2 channels and need to up my game ASAP!!!
There's some really solid advice here, and it's great that most of the points apply to every type of content creator rather than just vloggers and filmmakers. I strongly believe that the key to success on UA-cam is to find something that you're passionate about and to put your entire heart into it, and I think Peter hit the nail right on the head with point 2 about doing it for the right reasons. Having an original concept or style is extremely beneficial as well, but if people can tell that you're passionate and putting in a ton of effort, then the views and subscribers will follow naturally. I started my channel during university with nothing but a laptop (not even a camera), but I spent 100+ hours on each video and people slowly started to take notice. Like Peter said, you don't need expensive equipment or software to get started in the beginning. You just need a solid idea, a bit of motivation, and some strong initiative! Oh, and I almost forgot: Happy Birthday, Peter! : )
