    This is what I've done and I thought it just made sense, but I think some people think that it "wears out the muscle before working out".
    I agree with everything he said in this video.

      What I like about Jay’s advice is that he doesn’t act like everything is set in stone (like basically every fitfluencer out there right now), but just explains what works for him and that you have to try out what works for you. That’s the real takeaway imo and he is living proof of that it works

      also the best incline machine is the medx converging incline and the flex fitness leverage incline as a close second. if you don't have machine just do incline dumbbells and go for high reps. its a pita to lift the dumbbells when you get really strong.

    Really quick question: I have watched you your whole career, your insight has been profound but I’ve always wandered this question. Specifically this video, most of your movements look very restricted, I don’t see you always using a full range of motion. Is that because of how big you are or is that deliberate to maintain time under tension? Thanks in advance

    Agreed. I always do Incline Press one to warm up but two mostly because it’s a harder press that requires a bit more grunt (like shoulder pressing) but yeah I’ll knock out 5-6sets pyramiding up the weight(same as flat) with sometimes one drop set weight for reps.

    I have the same issue as Jay in that my delts are really strong and they take over from the chest. I got the most growth when I started using the Incline Hammer Strength first. 5 sets of 1x15(light), 1x12(moderate). 3x10-6&RP on LS.

    I like both titles. But I think you should go with the first one; the reason is because the second one was used as a title for a movie. Unless the copyright has expired then you could use that one as your title; but, because the movie industry is very sensitive at the moment due to A.I. I think if you go that route you should check first to make sure you wouldn't be infringing on copyright guidelines.

    Needed this motivation. I've had so many shoulder issues especially after a car wreck it's really difficult to train chest and shoulders. I used to be able to military press 405 in my 20s so I've definitely had to check my ego at the door. The old Arnold encyclopedia I lived by said free weights were always the best way but you and a few others have helped me cope with my mortality..Thanks Jay. I know you'd win the masters and to be honest I could see you getting the other Sandow of you really wanted it but I know you have NOTHING to prove.

    If you use the pre exhaust technique correctly, especially on weaker body parts, you’ll notice improvements in just a few weeks if utilised correctly. Jay is the GOAT when it comes to training smart; 30+ years hard training, only one relatively ‘minor’ injury later in his career. Compare this to the injuries Ronnie and Dorian have gone through. As much as I admire Ronnie for his feats of strength and his achievements, dude is wheelchair bound and can’t walk..

    When he says pre exhaust I’d have to be very careful with that if I’m too tired I won’t have the strength to do any heavy lifts. There’s a small window in my workout when I’m at my strongest. early on I’m not warmed up yet but late in the workout I’m too tired so I’ve found that I need to hit my heaviest lifts right in the middle of my workout.

    • @wombat5252
      @wombat5252 Рік тому

      Can be better mind/muscle connection, focusing on the targeted muscle. It's very good to do. You don't need to go 100% all the way full range...that's actually dangerous because you can tear your muscle that way, stretching it to the limit especially if you're trying to go heavy. It's mainly for focus on the muscle itself. Bodybuilders benefit more from it compared to say power lifters or strong men competitors.
