I made this Alabama white sauce for my cousins annual pig roast party last year and it was all gone within half an hour. My cousin asked me to make more for his party next week and I am upping my game this year. Making a gallon of it. This stuff is amazing and everyone loved it.

I just wanted to thank you for this recipe. It was amazing! I knew when I found this video that this sauce would be great, but it was even better than I imagined. I can't wait to try more of your recipes!
Knew a guy who started a little barbecue joint in a small town, and he made his own Alabama White Sauce, and that stuff was out of this world. He sold me a mason jar of it, and one thing I used it on that surprised him was I made a cold pasta salad with no. No joke, that pasta salad had all my friends raving!
This works WONDERFULLY as a sauce for pasta salad as well. Just made some mini shell pasta, diced up some red onions, celery and as many color bell peppers as you have, then stir in the sauce. This recipe should be plenty for 4 cups of pasta.
OMG I am from Decatur! I knew EXACTLY who you were talking about when you said Big Bob Gibson! 😅. I have since moved but that still ranks as my #1 BBQ eatery 😊.
I love the thought of white bbq sauce. I’ll be making this soon. I can tell that in spite of adding extra heat, you are actually holding back. I bet this would be good on fish, roasted or a fish and chips. French fries and tater tots as well. And maybe roasted broccoli and cauliflower
Thanks, Ima. Yes, you can definitely up the spice/heat factor if you wanted to. This has a nice level of zing and flavor to it. Perfect with all the foods you've mentioned.
@@ChiliPepperMadness my heat comment wasn’t about the recipe, it was about you. 😄. You snuck in some extra heat, but I sensed you would have put in even more if it were just you eating it.
white sauce looking good in alabama we have mustard slaw on the side so you get a lot of tang and spice from that and for the chicken wings we smoke them then fry them best wings ever
I made this but replaced brown sugar with Swerve sugar free alternative, I added 1 tsp Thai red curry paste, 1 tsp paprika, 1/4 tsp file powder, 2 tbsp rice vinegar. Turned out great!
Very similar to my dad's recipe that originated from Poland 🇵🇱 its a white gravy that has fresh grated horseradish in it but no mayo. More like sour cream. We cook chicken gizzard in it.
I’ve been to Big Bob’s and had the original, and this actually sounds better than the original.. Not taking anything away from the original, but, like you, I like it with a bit more kick. Great job Mike!!!
I am a new subscriber and I watched your jalapeño recipe yesterday and this morning I went out to buy jalapeño. I made the jalapeño sauce and fell in love with the sauce (ditching my sriracha). 3 hours later, I watched your Alabama White BBQ Sauce. Now I have to run out again to get the ingredients because I am planning to roast chicken tomorrow. I got a great recipe and technique to roast a flavourful and juicy chicken and I think this Alabama sauce will be a perfect condiment for the chicken and potatoes wedges. Thanks in advance.
The base for this sauce is pretty much exactly what I use for my sandwich spread; mayo, spicy mustard, and apple cider vinegar. I don't spice it up much, though. Just some salt and pepper and I mix in shredded lettuce until it has the right consistency. Great general purpose sauce for sandwiches or burgers.
So is this something you can cook with, like when you'd caramelize tomato based BBQ sauce into ribs? Or does the mayo base not work for that? Is this more of an after cook condiment?
It's definitely more of a condiment/finisher, though works well as a dressing. You can warm it, though. I haven't used it outside of this, but am curious.
Hey Mike! Great video again! Try that with Leftover Roast Beef: pretty cool!!! I think it's a bit similar to your Comeback Sauce recipe but horseradish kicks it high! Thanks a lot!
Again with that vinegar component, I know I'd love it. I've enjoyed the Carolina Gold style sauce from TJ's, tasty enough, I prefer lots of vinegar.. Lol, don't get me started on my salad dressing 🙃 🤣
Perfect on....Here we go....Potatoes, Brussels Sprouts, Broccoli, Macaroni Salad, Fish....Need I go on? I made this the first time I found it on Mike's site, and have barely missed a week without it in my fridge at the ready. I go just a tad hard on the Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar for this. If anything remotely looks like it will work, I'm dumping this on it. "I put this **** on everything"
It'd be worth trying to thicken this with Xanthan to make the texture more appropriate for dipping (vs drizzling). Besides that this recipe is awesome!
I was about to cuss your ass up and down if you weren’t using Dukes. Best Mayo out there by far not even a question, anyone who says otherwise is simply uneducated. Hellmans? Hell no man. From my hometown of Greenville South Carolina.

What do you like to serve your Alabama White BBQ Sauce with?
Beer can chicken is my favorite with the white sauce. It's also good on an Italian meat sandwich.
Seitan chicken!
Fried chicken sandwich!
After I go hunting I BBQ and put it on the coons.
Grew up in Alabama. Always ate this on fried catfish.

Very nice. Thank you.
I had some at a restaurant here in Georgia a few months back and have been looking for a recipe ever since. Absolutely delicious. Thanks!
This is an absolutely great rendition of the sauce, but make sure you look up Big Bob Gibson's recipe also. Gotta try the one that started it all!
What did you have the sauce on? I have to try this.
It is just the juice from a mayo based coleslaw such as KFC serves, maybe a couple extra spices added.

Could just be ratios, or the products themselves.
Japanese white sauce is also tasty!
Got a question. Could u brine in the white sauce and then cook chicken and use a new batch of white sauce at the end for eating?
I would want to try that with my moms pan fried pork chops. Whoooooo baby. Thanks. 😋

Looks pretty tasty brother. Smoked paprika never hurts, like you said. Nice how it's easy to control the heat. I'll give it a try. Thanks.

Sure, this will easily last a week, though likely longer, as it's made primarily with condiments and contains vinegar, which is a preservative. Enjoy!
Did you use a pink salt ?? Cause a table salt and pink salt give off a different taste and also the amount
½ teaspoon!
Thanks for the video, I know its an American thing, but why would you use garlic powder, instead of actual crushed fresh garlic?
You can use fresh garlic. I do often. Sometimes it's just for convenience and texture.
