We have no idea what he can totally do because we have not seen him play a serious bop session but he is Phenomenal. Is he Vinnie? Steve Gadd or Smith? Dennis Chambers or Antonio Sanchez? Idk but I doubt it. I would love to take lessons from him though! He is incredible!

I just got a set of zildjian a391s and absolutely looove them! But they are so fancy and luscious sounding for my old kit. Might get something small like this perfect for gigging and transportation but seems like they could rock out at louder volumes too

Sweet little kit. Super hate that crash, it sounds like a thin over hammered 1990’s Zildjian earth series. Nick however always sounds like the versatile master we know and love

We would really like to hear the bass drum tuned UP so we can hear if it might be suitable for jazz, or combo playing.

9:25 I guess, i'll never get use to drums might be in church. So as any PA/Concert equipment. Still sounds really strange to me, honestly. But it's happening. I mean, i grow up in other type of churches- where people praying, mostly quietly within themselves and the only music is a natural acoustic high-pitched female choir and a bells outside. But i found over and over, while searching to mixers and other PA stuff, that there's a churches with a rock concerts. Maybe modern and look like a stage. I have an old LP of The Byrds, released by Lutherean church, which pays my attention back in the days. It's completely different what i use to, you know. Didn't quite fit in my head, how is it possible. But it's all for the good things.
this is without a doubt a very high quality compact kit, but to me the only good thing about it is the finish and Nick

Does anyone know about a portable kit that includes cases? I owned a mapex fastpack horizon (5pc), including 1 hi-hat stand, 1 cymbal stand, pedal and 1 boom for an extra cymbal. Everything fitted in 3 cases, making it super easy to transport, now I'm looking for something similar but more on the higher end. Thanks!

What are exactly the cymbals played in this demo ?
Those are meinl their Byzance series they have individual and cymbal packs on the sweetwater website
Here in Europe, the only model available comes with a 10"X20" BD and a 09"X14" floor tom...! None of these two models (the one you review here + the one available in Europe) appear in the 2021 Tama catalog ...!
And even that model has now disappeared from all the stores. I don't know if they are temporarily out of stock due to covid supply chain issues or if they have been discontinued entirely. It sucks, I was really hoping to buy one. They have the perfect sizes for a gigging kit IMO.
