It's true, a lot of those features are common in the nicer neighborhoods of Manhattan. Even washlets are gaining in popularity. I remember I was working for a client who was renovating an apartment in a Soho loft, and they requested an electrical outlet behind the toilet. I was like "mixing water and electric isn't good, why do you want this?" They said "for the toilet, it needs an electric connection." I figured it was just a toilet that lit up at night or something, I had to look up the toilet they were installing, a toto, top of the line, probably cost like 2000 bucks which was pennies to them.
@@NikkiShear hey, this was like 8 years ago when Toto was just releasing it's new line of washlets. It was a special toilet, had the electronics integrated into it, all the bells and whistles. They still have washlets that cost over $1,000 though, and that's without the toilet.
@Suffered Person actually, japan's suicide rate is not that particularly high anymore. When the economy was bad, it was quite high, but after the unemployment rate got low, like 2.5% (less than 3% means any job seeker can find a job, generally), people stopped taking their own lives. Suicides are more closely linked to economy than culture.
If you move to Tokyo or other big cities it's alright i think, but in rural areas you would almost never see a foreigner so that's why they distance from them. But Japanese peope are very friendly and open so i hope you can make it true.
I think the key for japanese house's tech is precision for inhabitants: in my home in italy lots of things are left to random, like water temperature, yes it's hot but you must feel it to undestand how much. theyre not all "built in" or a single unit... yes many homes have them already in place when you get there. But actually there are many that just sit on top of the normal toilet in many cases and are connected to the water and cistern. As well as connected to the mains power and GROUNDED of course... keep in mind the japanese use 110v for mains power not 240v but i would think as they are available in the UK that they are suitably safe. If you wanted one, all you would have to do is search for a washlet (one company that makes them is Toto - possibly the number one supplier, and we can get them here in the UK so i would think you can get them anywhere) and order it. Boom. Done. They go up to about 600 quid (give or take a bit depending on brand) here in the UK
It wastes water though. I have a temperature controlled shower column and it's much better here in Spain, especially during droughts. Without it you have to fiddle for a minute until you get the right temperature and constantly wasting water the whole time. With it you set it and that's it. It will always be set at the temperature you prefer, and takes just a few seconds.

My favorite technology in a japanese home are the awesome TOILETS!! They clean your bum, warm your seats, and some even play music for you. What more could you ask for?😂🥰
Where you from?
Wow control panels and vents so high tech! 🤦♂️ Paolo does a video about a rock 🪨 in japan, everyone goes Wow!

Your sponsorship actually works. I normally get a wifi box when I go to Japan. But now I'll consider mobel
Toto is quality, everywhere in Japan has them!
While here In the US we are still using toilet paper...I feel like a barbarian 😔
Im loving how u r finding interesting things to make videos about while u r stuck at home. Nice job.
I love Japanese technology in the home. If only we could get that in Australia. Another technology I love in Japan is the washing machine that is also dryer.
We have washer and dryer duo in the U S for1k
Mate, they sell 2 in 1 washing machines in aus
My fav part is the bathroom . 1 room and has lots of functions ! Thank you for sharing
Also that fish grill is almost perfectly suited for grilled cheese on toast!
Wow control panels, vents and grill so high tech! 🤦♂️
That intercom system is amazing! Why isn't the rest of the world using it!!! It could save so many lives and make us feel more secure!!! ❤️
Yup. Japan bathroom confuse me when i was there...So many buttons....😂
I only hope they put english labels so most people know what they're pressing hahahahaha
Your channel makes me want to move to Japan! The thing about Japanese home tech is how there’s an efficient solution to just about every issue. I’d love that bath/shower in my own home. And the fish grill!

@@juiceman8143 he means japan is a very depressing country, with many depressed people(largely because of the awful working enviroment+relatively bad wages)
Fee better than getting ur country taken over by riots 🤷♂️
@@tarzan2441 yeah, thank god i'm not american
The intercom is amazing. The delivery boxes would be great for me here in the UK. Wow to the toilet. 😮 Wow to everything in this video.
Japan is the country of Tech! After watching that video I absolutely sure about it! Drying stuff for cloth I'm just in shock :D In the Azerbaijan where I live these things could be as a dream. And I wanna ask you: Do that stuffs make up elecetricity bills?
Electricity is affordable in Japan, gas is expensive.
Shutouts all the way from mexico🇲🇽 we love your videos Paolo God bless you & your family! 😀 #1🇯🇵
Japan:*has really good technology *
Meanwhile in the midwest:*the only technology is the light switch or anything you can plugin *

I think that's a lifestyle choice...live simple
I'm from America and I have to admit your definitely not wrong at all
Well.. i'm living in India man.. imagine my situation.
@@skiran69 I'm living in India too in Gurgaon my house has everything you just watched in this video.
I believe you also have a clothes washer/dryer combo machine. This level of machine is not available in the U.S. I was hoping you would have gone over this as well. I also like the fact that the floor of the bath unit is where one showers and bathes before entering the furo. Very cool and something you don't see in the U.S. Congratulations to you and Maiko on your first baby!
In Bangladesh, we have fans and lights in almost all houses. Pretty standard technology! :P
Its the same across all of South Asia , we are 50 years behind Japan in Standard of Living
@@rawat7203 i think 100 years sound about right.
You did a day in the life of a japanese salaryman who worked for Mobal! What a great company to support you.
That's why japan is always ahead of time. I guess in my opinion
The bath unit is amazing 🥲
Japanese culture and advance technology never ceases to amaze me and if i decided to leave the UK and had a choice of countries would be by no 1 choice, great video again thank you
These technology make life super easy and enjoyable. I am definitely going to use mobal sim when i am going to visit japan
japanese people living in the year 2120
Without payment, we still can’t use debit or credit card like small shops :( It’s the most annoy moment in Japanese life. Technology :2120, payment :1990
It's like the Fifth Element
@@winenote5962 ur such a dumb! Why u gonna pay debit or credit cards in the small stores??? bring cash dumb ass! Everyone here in japan bringing cash and we pay cash than credit card or debit! Cash is important and easy! Most of the small dont like pain in the ass after like waiting ur money sales in one month so its better cash id puchase small amount! me i dont like cards like debit or credit i always have cash in my wallet
@@winenote5962 using cards for $5 buck or 10 bucks is retarded thing! Shame on u if u dnt have cash u look like a beggar
@@brixxjones8093 bruh stfu you child it was one little thing shithead
I'm addicted from technology and I can't live without literally!
Japan is a wonderful country about technology and I'd like to learn anything about Japanese technology !
By the way I'm Asperger and the technology/science/innovation is my main interest and I spend so much of my time about it !
So Tokyo is a very interesting city in my opinion!
Now I want to live in Japan... In the Netherlands.. We don’t have that kind of stuff😂
Jaman we hebben hier helemaal niks. Japan is next level.
Wij hebben alleen lichtschakelaars! 🤣
Maar echt hoor... 😂
No you dont
Big up mobal, I went to japan last year and got full coverage for my stay and no problems whatsoever, fully recommend it plus I got a ¥500 off coupon to use at a few restaurants/British pub
I live in the UK, my house is 15 years old and we have none of this 😂
My house in Lancashire is over a 120yrs old...........
Lol
My rented home in London was built in 1936 and its terrible, even the windows are still the original rusty single glazed ones and none of the doors shut properly, the place is full of cracks.
@@GreatSageSunWukong Sounds like London!
@@JasmineSurrealVideos still here cant afford anything else, you know like one of those fancy luxury apartments made out of shiney cardboard and Halogen lighting that last five mins before falling apart, or a place in one of those lovely cladded tower blocks.
The "dryer" shower room is a cool feature!
I really want to go in Japan But I can't even Go out. Hope this Pandemic will end.
ikr, i havent left my house in so long, i think i forgot how the world looks like, lol
Congratulations!! May your newest arrival bring much joy and happiness for your both. Love all the cool gadgets your apartment has to offer especially the fish grill. I wish we have it.
This is so cool! Japan is living right lol I feel like the US is so behind 😂
Japan has amazing technology for the home. I found this video after I had just requested it. Was not disappointed. Xxx
Omg I wanna live in a Japanese apartment now
Singapore need these technologies! Especially from 1:30 to 1:50 as we are at the era of ageing population + elderly who wants to live alone! Great content!!
Tokyo is my dream destination
Same here brother
Man this brought back so much memories of Japan and now I’m utterly depressed I’m not back yet
Wow ,is more sophisticated in Japan than the USA.
Only the high end apartments & lofts the intercom & the grill !!!
Japan has more technology I ❤ tech!!!
Delivery boxes would be so helpful!! I live in North America and often times packages are just left outside the apartment unit, which is not always the safest.
You could live in the South East of UK where parcels are sometimes thrown over gates and left in smelly bins! That's the 'advanced' service.
San Francisco in the house 🏠 that sounds like ADT been around for years
Yes i love the dryer in the bathroom. Went vacay in japan and no dirty laundry to bring home!
So cool the Japanese have thought of everything!
Hello from Istanbul, Turkey. I love your shows. Very informative about life in Japan. As far as the tech is concerned, you guys are living in the 22nd century.
