      They're usually the people that have no problem fixing your laptop or car or sink. It's like they tinker around, and it's fixed. They also can be very crafty, always making things. And some are natural athletes. The ones that can play 3 different sports really well.

    Thank you for this information. My Grandson is a Kinesthetic learner. I am interested in learning how to help him in school. Public schools won't allow him to have anything in the classroom to help him get rid of excess energy and he was always getting in trouble because he couldn't stay still. As he has gotten older, he is now 9, he has gotten more control over himself but has to repeat the 3rd grade this year. It's so frustrating for him and for my son, his dad and we are desperate to help him, so he doesn't give up on learning or himself. I'm watching your videos but I'm a bit alone here so would appreciate further help and
    suggestions. Thank you

    I have adhd and found out that Im a kenesthetic/ visual learner. After 14 yrs of off and on college I finally got my BS. I still need to take 2 medical classes to apply for the medical field for my masters in Occupational therapy.
    I diffenitly like coloring things when doing anatomy and working with other studying. Writing on the dry eraser board helpes me move. I have a sit to stand desk but when my adhd kicks in with hyper focus, I tend to study for hrs at a time and feel like I didn't learn anything. I have an alarm but some times want to "finish" something or keep studying because I dont have much time to study. I take care of my 3 yr old daughter thriughout the day so I study at night...anywho. i need to really oull away to take an active break or burn out.

    How do we know what our learning style is?

    • @SharpCookie
      @SharpCookie  4 роки тому +1

      Good question! I'm going to come out with videos on the other types, but usually you can tell what you are by listening to the description and deciding that it sounds like you. Kinesthetic learners need to be "doing" in order to learn, and they have the hardest time in traditional classrooms where there's a lot of sitting and listening.

    Thanks God! I found your video. I have 7 yo daughter. She is kinesthetic visual learner and suffering to read textbook. In my country, 7 yo should’ve reading 😢 her memory skills are very good, but she is not interested with reading a long text and mathematic. She likes drawing so much. How can I teach the kinesthetic learner for reading? I would be gratefull if you reply my comment or maybe I can contact you in personal (by email). Many thanks! Greetings from Indonesia!

    • @SharpCookie
      @SharpCookie  Рік тому

      She should definitely be reading by 7yr old. Talk to her teacher about this as soon as possible. Also, you should get your daughter tested for possible learning disabilities, so if she needs extra resources at school she can get it. There might also be a physical issue with her vision or hearing---get her testing for this as well. The sooner you figure out why she is delayed, the better! Then you can find her the proper tools and resources.

    How does a kinesthetic learner learn a new word, especially in foreign language? Thanks :)

  • @dacm110
    @dacm110 4 роки тому +1

    Hello! your video is interesting. I would like to ask you how would you teach languages to a kinesthetic learner at home?

    • @SharpCookie
      @SharpCookie  4 роки тому +1

      That's a great question! I would incorporate a lot of play acting. So I would create pretend scenarios like going to the grocery store or ordering at a restaurant or meeting someone new at a party, and I would converse and play act with the student. Depending on the age of the student, they might also find it fun to dress up and use props. The other thing I would do if you want to practice vocabulary or conjugating verbs is toss or kick something back and forth like a ball or bean bag. You would say the word in English while throwing the ball, then the student would catch the ball and say it in the foreign language as they toss or kick it back. You can easily make more rules to this like every time they mess up the word, they have to take a step back from you. If you give me the age of the student, I can probably give you a few more ideas, hope that helps!

    I am trying to learn Chinese right now, what tips do you have specifically for language learning?

    • @SharpCookie
      @SharpCookie  3 роки тому +1

      Verbal learners and auditory learners tend to have an easier time learning languages. Check out my verbal learning video. In a few days I'll be posting the auditory learner video, and I think that will have some helpful tips that you can apply to learning languages. I'll put it on my list to do a specific video just for study tips related to languages. And good for you for studying Chinese! I hear that's one of the most difficult languages to learn.
