What I also love about cool motion technology was that it allowed football fans to clearly see the difference between Player and Fan version Kits. I believe it was also the first time Player Version kits were commercially available for fans to purchase (£65).
Brilliant episode! World Cup 2002’s dual layer jerseys have always been my favourites. Possible to do an episode on Nike’s Cool Motion vs Adidas’ Climacool?
Really interesting how the USMNT were the ones who didn’t want Cool Motion when years after, baselayers would be dominating the US sports scene before Europe
@@craigbuglass8434 i quickly checked pics of the US and SoKor during that world cup and you can really see how the Korean shirt looked more tidy than the US one. Amazing stuff! Can't wait to hear more amazing stories from you guys!
Fantastic as always chaps. Fascinating to hear from Tina about the evolution of Cool Motion. Always interesting to hear about innovations that take on a life of their own - engineered for a humid World Cup, but a game-changer for all shirts going forward
Genuinely love these videos. A question for you both; It seems technology, template and brand directions used to follow the World Cup 4 year calendar. Is it still like that now? National teams first, other clubs later, or are the mega-clubs and their sales numbers the drivers for innovation and change now?

The world events should always take priority for brands to launch new innovations…. I’d be shocked if they don’t follow that strategy today.
