I've never had a gm power steering pump leak or fail one of mine is 51 years old and still doing great. When they fail it's because no one ever changed the power steering fluid. Heck I have one 35 years old and still going strong at 425,000 miles! I also only use power steering fluid, would you put power steering fluid in your transmission?
you make a fair point..... I have never once changed steering fluid and it eventually becomes self changing... lol.. that said.... i have also never purchased a well maintained vehicle i
@@betweenthesharksgarage well maintained is a rare find now days lol usually you'll find them from old retired people who has nothing else to do. I'm that old retired person lol retired at 55 so I'm still young enough to do it. I think the transmission and brakes and power steering fluids are the most neglected things anymore heck now days it's rare just to find a vehicle that's had the oil changed, I'm a van guy myself. Mine is a 94 us customs van though. It's been babied since new. The original owner died of cancer and left it to me knowing I would take care of it. While not really a cool classic like yours. I still love the old van.
