    Thank you for this. I am a graphic design intern at an ngo here in Nairobi, Kenya and part of my job is to create infographics for the courses developed and being a person who has not yet done that I have limited time to learn, so my supervisor suggested ispring. I got to learning and I am running with it. I have also tried storyline and its true, its more of like ispring. Now having prior knowledge & experience with Adobe softwares, captivate is also easy for me to learn but time is of the essence to me. So figured let me start and concentrate with isring, then later I can diversify. Thanks again for this video

    Good comparison. We switched from Lectora to iSping. Working on a small team that was already very familiar with PowerPoint made the switch easy. I felt like we lost a lot of capability, the actions list in Lectora is similar to Storyline's.
    It's also good to note that any slide can still be edited in PowerPoint without iSpring as long as it's not a slide made in the external programs, interactions and quizzes for example.

    I have a lot of programs and trainings and have wanted to start an on-line site for a while. Thanks for the information. Not sure I have the stuff to do it since I ready have a pretty full schedule but want to slow down and look towards passive income in my later years. I think I got a lot to think about now.

    • @yourlearningcareer
      @yourlearningcareer  2 роки тому

      Hi Carla - my advice as far as starting a site and/or pursuing a passive income idea is GET STARTED AND DO IT! I have a family and a full time job so I work on this stuff when I can (usually evenings and weekends). Progress is slow but I am seeing progress. The main thing though, is to take action - any action - to get things going. Good luck!

    Thanks for the vid, especially the precise chapter breakdown for navigation - it's something people often forget!
    I'd love to hear your (very brief) thoughts on Lectora and Dominknow, if you have any first-hand experience with those alternatives?

    • @yourlearningcareer
      @yourlearningcareer  2 роки тому +1

      I haven't touched Lectora in probably 15 years. Not that I have anything against it, just haven't worked anywhere that had it in that long. Even when I did, I wasn't really focused on e-learning at that time so didn't do much. And, Dominknow I've never used. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful there!

    Hey Jeff, your videos have been very helpful. I’m a content writer and am planning to learn ID software’s like Articulate 360 and Captivate, but would need a little more of a career related information. I already mailed you on your website. Is there any way I can get in touch for more information? LinkedIn perhaps?

    Thanks for the video, Jeff. Great stuff as always. This might be a bit of a stupid question (my speciality) but I actually enjoy using Rise 360. It’s pretty simple, all flows nicely etc. I also have a basic grasp of Storyline but do you think it’s possible to make a decent income as a Rise “expert” or by using it more than other software? I don’t see many creators recommending this route but just curious. Hope this makes sense.

    • @yourlearningcareer
      @yourlearningcareer  Рік тому +1

      Not a stupid question at all! I don't have any numbers or anything like that but here is my opinion. I think that, sure, if someone were to market themselves properly and establish themselves as the "go-to" person for Rise projects, they could. I don't know how many companies are actively using Rise but since it comes with the 360 suite then there are hundreds (thousands?) that at least HAVE it. So, I'd think part of it would be to educate them on why it should be part of their overall learning strategy and the benefits of creating content with it. I think there could also be a "train the trainer" type of opportunity. So, not only do you offer the service of creating Rise projects for a company but maybe you also offer the service of training their L&D team on how to create with it.

    • @swboxing
      @swboxing Рік тому

      @@yourlearningcareer - that makes perfect sense, Jeff. I do a lot of Articulate stuff in work and while Rise is nowhere near as flexible as Articulate it is a good way of getting courses up quickly on the LMS. Thanks for taking the time to respond!

    • @yourlearningcareer
      @yourlearningcareer  Рік тому +1

      @@swboxing Not only that, it's made for mobile and with so many people on their phones anyway, it seems like it would be alot easier to deploy than something people have to be at their desktops to take. Especially for certain employee populations.
      I'm actually going to be using Rise for an upcoming activity in one of our sales classes.

    • @yourlearningcareer
      @yourlearningcareer  Рік тому

      I'll try to remember to come back and update. It's not for a couple of months and it's not a "typical" use for Rise (I don't think). But, I think it will be fun. Basically, I'm going to put some review info into Rise and then have the participants use QR codes hidden around the room/building to "collect" the information. We'll see how it goes!

    Adobe Captivate is much less expensive but do you need to purchase the Adobe suite and need PowerPoint/Photoshop etc to maximize captivate?

    • @yourlearningcareer
      @yourlearningcareer  2 роки тому +2

      No, you can purchase on it's own and you don't need any of the other Adobe products to create e-learning. If you do happen to have Photoshop or Illustrator and are comfortable working in them, there is some nice integration with Captivate.

    About responsive projects… In storyline, if you create the projects to fit a mobile phone, will it not work in laptop mode?

    • @yourlearningcareer

      It will still work on both. It just may not automatically adjust the size. There has been an update too since I made this video. Check this out about the new "Modern Player": articulate.com/support/article/Storyline-360-Modern-Player

    Is there any special adobe or other suite for Learning Experience design?

    • @yourlearningcareer
      @yourlearningcareer  6 днів тому +1

      Unfortunately, no. Way back when, they used to have an e-learning suite that included Captivate along with a few other apps like Photoshop, Acrobat and Illustrator (if I recall correctly). Now, Captivate is only available on it's own. And then you would have to buy either the individual products you want or get the Creative suite that includes everything EXCEPT Captivate.

    Adobe's price is ok at best. The rest are insane! Anyone who pays this makes the developers keep selling stuff FOR those prices! Academic discount? Who do they think the majority of their customers are!? Plumbers!? Just reduce the price the $10/month. There is no reason to pay more for any apps unless you are using it for profit.

    • @yourlearningcareer
      @yourlearningcareer  Рік тому

      The pricing seems to be more aimed at companies vs. the average Joe. It does make it difficult to use them outside of a corporate job.

    Hello @younglearningcareer what do you personally prefer? Do you think the package that Articulate 360 (Rise, Storyline, Review etc.) delivers is worth over iSpring or do you even think iSpring is better than Articulate?

    • @yourlearningcareer
      @yourlearningcareer  6 місяців тому +1

      I love iSpring but would probably give the edge to Articulate. It is the more commonly used one (e.g. that's what my Fortune 5 company uses) and has a really good, well established community of users.
