This is the video I watched many years ago that made me do it myself. Thanks 91 RS

I'm sorry but it's not that simple. There's a reason why people take the dash out it's because there are screws and bolts above where you cannot reach with your hand and getting that heater core out and reinstalling the new one easily and not risking damage to it is almost impossible if you don't follow the factory procedure. They write service manuals for a reason you know.

Yep every mechanic i went to wanted to take the dash out and replace it for 800 bucks. I said no thanks. I did the same procedure you did. I replaced mine 4 years ago. My first time was a real pain. The 2 heaters hoses were tuff to break free from the heater core, i dont remember how i got them off, but that was the tuff part. Getting the heater core bolted back in was no picnic either. The rest was pretty simple. I drove it leaking for 2 months not being able to see how the windshield at night.

We don’t need our hand held but he skipped an entire step. Took the strip off, took the kick plate off. How did he get to the top screw on the box cover?

Yeah, my base 92 just doesn't look like that under there. It's a 3.1L v6 LH0 so it's probably just slightly different as far as the firewall goes. Of course it's a different engine too so who knows, the entire configuration could be unique to the package I have.

Good video man and don't worry about people who need there hand held step by step.Theose people shouldn't be working on cars anyways. This is exactly what I was looking for not a step by step video cause I only needed to find the locations

Should this work for a 1994 Firebird 3.8L. ??? Will the procedure be about the same?

I'm wondering if my 83 is the same. I got a 5.0 V8..Does the placement of the core change based on engine and year? Just curious.

I didnt care for your video because you skipped how to take the kickplate off and how all of a sudden you find the heater core right in front of you. My son and I have been working over two hours trying to figure out how to get that heater core out of a 92 firebird.
