I replaced mine in my 91 z28 with the 5.7 only 33k miles. The aluminum one I purchased at Oreilly’s did not work. So I took my original to a local radiator shop. The redid the core and it works great
And the one other negative is those aluminum heater cores don't produce any decent heat. You're better off to have your old one recored. Less trouble less heartache more heat. No modifications and it mounts back to the piece correctly.
if you get the toughone or carquest it is wrong casue its bigger like he said, thats from advance, if you get the one from autozone its an exact fit, or nap
Why not just patch the core with silver solder? Was it clogged & leaking? I'm personally broke so it's got to be repaired or its off to the scrappers I go! Parts cheap parts, Usually!

Mines the same part number as yours and it fits perfectly without cutting anything
