I know it's an old video but I wanna thank you for all these awesome how to videos, it's really helping me and I'm sure others is happy for these videos too
ur welcome
No es sencillo de hacer!! Pero es algo que se tiene que arreglar!! Muchas gracias por el tutorial. Todo es muy instructivo!👍
Welcome
Great video man, do you think the door can be removed without taking off the fender and hood? I have them all lined up and don't want to mess with them if I don't have to
Yes with a 15-16mm wrench you can get in there with the door open.
i have never had to take the fender
I was painting my car so the fenders were coming off
@@Bowtieblood did you make a video?
Thank you for posting ! Just want I needed. I have a bad driver door with many holes from the previous person takeout a dent. I figure i should replace The Whole door rather then having the body shop throw body filler on the whole door. Thanks buddy!
GREAT VIDEO
I went to chevy in 2011 and those things you took off were never to be replaced; chevy never made them to be replaced. You replaced then with bolts?
Well if you never replace them you will always have a saggy door.
There door hinge replacement bolts, it's in the description.
At 15:22 the hinges look like teddy bears, awwww
How did you get the middle bolt off tht hold the handle piece . The one thats flush with the door about the lock lever??
So fender does not have to come off of just replaing pins and roller. You are doing full hinge replacement?? Get a door brace is what body shops use. Both top and bottom pins get replaced. And the roller on bittom hinge. That usually takes care of the movement. However you do have to order those parts. They also use a special wedge to re align the metal with. Have no idea why you did all the new drilling etc. Seems very unnecessary to fix the hinges. I sure did not need to do all of this on mine! But mine is an 85. I hate to see the damage on the outer door when done all that pounding on a steel sawhorses. Anyway. You are doing full restoration it seems. :) usually you do not need to do any of that to fix the sag. Or so i found.
Judgemental or naw?. Or so i think🤔
Ikr,dude worked his azz off for nothing.
It Wasn’t the pins that he replaced ? I thought that’s what he did ? The rivets
I am repairing the hinges on my 85 trans am any tips while doing them? I am doing both sides here soon
i went to the auto store. and they gave me a kit with pins and 4 dowl type washers. did they give me the rite kit?
Dorman 38401 is the complete kit for top and bottom.
I replaced my hinge without removing fender. Pull kick panel, remove bolts, support door, cut wires, remove top bolts and tak door to area to replace pin, and parts
you can move the boot to cut the wires, then splice in 2 inch wire to each eire reinstalling, then put the boot back on
Cool
"Cut wires" What a hack. Probably used crimp on butt connectors too.
are these dors really heavy?
Some what ya
Depends. If you haven’t had a car like this before. Yes. If you have an older bigger two door, where the door is thicker, and longer. Then they seem to be light weight compared.
I don't agree with removing the door or fender to repair the hinges. I'm getting ready to rebuild the lower hinge there must be an easier way.
did you find a better way?
This would have been a good video if you had some decent lighting
Well its what I had at the time.
