Greetings , I bought one of these new back in 1981. Became my favorite pocket knife and carried it every day when I worked construction in the elevator trade. The schrade in my pocket and a large lockback on my belt … started to work lighter when I started doing elevator maint. I swapped the lockback for a Spyderco delica . But always kept the liner lock .. kept an edge and was easy to sharp when I had too . Had to keep it oiled though .. usually after I oiled it I metal polished the blade to keep it nice.
Love the old USA Schrade’ OT. I bought a couple Buck folders in 1975’. Also bought a couple Schrade’s. Hands Down the Carbon steel schrade’ folders are superior 🇺🇸
We must have the same taste in knives. Every time I order a new knife, I jump on UA-cam, type the model in, and your videos come up. I always enjoy your videos. I like the accent, not something I have heard before.
I've had one for 35 years, and fit & finish is good. The problem I have the blade is a thick wedge shape that's hard to sharpen. Would be better if was hollow ground like current Buck knifes. For the last 15 years keep it in my mechanics tool box for gasket scraping & general use.
great knfe. i bought one in 76.iam on my 3rd one. fishing .hunting . work. mine i bought in 2014. usa made. hard ware store . paperwork says 1998. luv ur vidios. keep up the good work bro.
If you are lucky enough to have one that says made in USA, hang on to it. I just got one in the mail and the excitement wore off quickly. Made in China, the pins rise far above the surface of the handle, the blade wobbles side to side and I have attempted to sharpen this blade on 5 different occasions and it just doesn't want to take an edge worthy of cutting soft butter. Should have bought a Case. Live and learn.

Bought one the day my son was born, 1976 today it is 9-15-2022 or 46 years later and I still carry it.
The 1940T was one of the earliest linerlocks on the market , I always thought it made a great working knife . Great video as always .
This is like the Case Slimline Trapper, but with a liner lock. Hope you liked it!

Thank you! It's a great size for almost anything you need. So cool you found one in a hardware store. Take care my friend!

Look it up in the old Schrade catalogs. Just going by what they called it.
