I never had an Old Timer as a kid but I saw them everywhere, in the sporting goods department of any store, Outdoor Life magazine, Boys Life scouting magazine. I wanted one, of course, but I had a knife already and that was enough. I finally got a few of them as an adult, old pre-2004 USA models, and it transported me back to my youth. Sweet knives; great steel; better memories. Thanks for sharing yours.
Old Timer touches my heart. In the 70’s my brothers an I carried LB7’s. Got away from belt carry’s when Schrade went to China. Have a few Old Timer relics (US) which I love. Glad Schrade came home! Great review.
Man I think you gotta be the luckiest man I know. That thing is freaking sweet, I love it to get a brand new knife from 80s or 90s holy cow. Lucky dog you! Have a great one thanks for showing that thing off.
I think I am too. That thing is awesome, I remember when I was young I go to the hardware store and those were about the only kind of knives that I could afford. When I was a kid I always wanted a buck knife but they were little bit more pricey. but anyways that thing is cool man, congrats on your find.
Man O Man That Old Timer ⏱️ is sweet. But the best thing is that sweet patina on your TailGate. The Color on that Old Timer ⏱️ and Patina Color on Tailgate goes together that Peanut 🥜 Butter 🧈 and jelly sandwich 🥪 Absolutely perfect. You have a sweet looking 👀 Combo there Mr.R. Thank you again for another sweet video sir. Have a Blessed weekend and a very Blessed Worship service tomorrow morning if your attending. Our Lord & Savior truly is amazing. Blessings 🙏
I was and am still a Case guy, but i've had a lots of other brands, and the carbon steel blades of old timer and western were easier to sharpen for me and i believe they would perform just as well. They were more "buyer friendly" with the covers, and that got them into alot of pockets. I saw alot of old timers with blade play and broken tips where people had misused them, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. I guarantee that thing will sharpen well and put in a days work and do you proud. Good find.
I bet, these days a record low amount of people appreciate the back of a hard working pickup truck. Man! So many trips down the highway sitting on the wheel well or standing up looking over the cab. Those were the days.
That's your 'Goldilocks' knife right there...just right. Another brilliant video 👏 . "I was trying to keep it like my Dads" stainless and carbon 😂....that made me chuckle.
Sweet knife, cool story. I keep a copy of a knife my mom bought me at 15? in my collection. I don't often carry it but there will always be one in my collection.
I love the 94OT. I have a bunch of them but I need a U.S. made one. I started carrying an Old Timer 34OT. Definitely a working man’s brand. Can’t wait to see how you tiner it up! Nice find!
@@richterknives 😊 I’ll only have ultra budget models but they are really not bad for the money.. a Frost and an Ozark Trail.. I have a Rough Ryder bow trapper too in carbon steel.. looking at a Case..
Oh yeah dude . I sharpened a Schrade old timer yesterday and have the small whittling one . Came stiff a f I remember that for sure . It’s been sitting on a tray on my dresser getting good use. Knives are forever

Thank you for sharing - The old timer is realy a beautiful knife it's look like a trustable companion for a long time -I 'm curious what a slip will you do for this knife - Have a great week friend 🌟
Nice video, you should hunt down the uncle Henry version of that, so you can have a replica of your dad's knife, would like see a video comparison of the 2 together
I love USA made old Timers, I have a few of them, my first real pocket knife!! I love case knives too, today as of 5/20/2023 I bought a new case sodbuster jr, from my local old school hardware store, I was busy so I didn't check it out, this is the worst case I have ever seen, fit and finish are horrible, has no snap and barely closes, brass liners are uneven it's a mess, not to mention the burrs on the blade, I bought a case trapper last month from smkw, and it's basically the same thing 😮 , but I still love case xx😊

You ain’t kidding. Goldilocks indeed. That was pretty silly trying to keep it from staining. Dads usually know what they are talking about
