Secondly, biggest congratulations on achieving a respectable CT time since you had planned to challenge yourself in running the game for just one week! In my opinion, this is by far the easiest game to learn (and run) from the trilogy, not sure about the entire series though...might be. Speedrunning sure gets frustrating and tiring in the long term, therefore, I appreciate the fact that you want to take a break from it and leave off with your 51-minute run, which is something. Even though our speedrunning community is quite small, it is always nice to hear some good works from anyone really and we appreciate that you had plenty of pleasant things to say about it :) It truly does mean a lot to us, especially to Distro! Also enjoyed the streams where you had practiced everything in CT, despite me lurking and all. But it sure was enjoyable! Best of luck in your future endeavors and if you redecide, at one point in time (even though it's quite unlikely so) to come back to speedrunning (not just CT, but any of the SC games really), you're always welcome in our community! :)

This video reminds me when back in the day I used to do challenge runs on Ace Combat 5 just because I finished far too many times. Things like trying to use the worst planes possible, just using guns and other things are really fun when you enjoy the game a lot. Granted, challenge runs on Ace Combat 4 are much better since pretty much every mission is a score attack so using the godawful F-4 during the whole game can be borderline maddening although I never tried that (that game o Ace was already hard enough, even the start of the game could be a pain sometimes, and no, the only correct way for a challenge run on Ace Combat is to play on the hardest difficulty).

I hate these comments with stealth games so goddamn much. Sam wouldn't be anything like a speedrunner. He's slow, steady, and calculating. That's the point of Splinter Cell. It's slow and realistic. Like do you even know what Splinter Cell is meant to be? Sam doesn't run up to people knifing them and speed around the map with alarms going off FFS. @@blackhawk7274 No, he wouldn't operate like this AT ALL WHATSOEVER. Do you even know who Sam Fisher is? He doesn't run past every guard, alerting them and triggering alarms while being shot at. You know Craig... If you want more potential Splinter Cell content to cover, I'd suggest looking at the novels for the series, as they tend to have a completely different way the game's plot would be adapted... Makes it interesting, especially for Conviction where it seemed like MAYBE it was written during the time they had that original tech demo.
Having watched this video, I think a perfect movie adaptation of this game would be a speed running concept with the dialogue left infor story. That's the only way to be able to fit the whole iceberg in
@@oh-not-the-bees7872 I mean the speed running through the level with a perfect rating should be the action sequences so the whole story can fit in the movie
10:10 "I saved in Bathhouse at the worst possible moment"...DUDE, I did that recently myself. Had like 1% health and 3 guards with no ammo. Granted, I was playing like an idiot as this was the first time I played in like 20 years but I've since replayed everything on Expert difficulty and got a 100% on all missions. Live and learn lmao Edit: SAME exact spot as you too. The third bomb where you're on the ledge. Hahah I remember distinctly thinking that I can't be the only one to ever make this mistake. As much as you hate checkpoints, they looked pretty good here, huh? lmao
imagine being a bank guard and then all of a sudden some government black ops agent runs through the building into the vault, steals something and then leaves
Awesome video, your content is like when mom comes home with McDonald's! Oh and i wouldn't call it an excuse to talk about splinter cell and more like a needed necessity to talk about splinter cell. Oh and Hitman speedrun video when? :)
At this point, you’ve been doing more good to Splinter Cell than a certain video game developer nowadays. With that said, have you considered reviewing the books?
I would never watch speedrun videos since I can't watch hours and hours of same thing, but for some reason I watched this video two times. It is so interesting how you explain each level in short, I hope you do this for other Splinter Cell titles
I did some speedrunning for thief deadly shadows and I regretted it. I can never play that game as a stealth game anymore. It’s boring. Did some for Hitman Contracts; that game can be played in multiple styles and it’s still fun. As for chaos theory, that game is very addictive although I don’t speedrun it. I like to play on expert in all levels to ensure the game is at its most realistic.
I totally get it. I speedran Dishonored 1 a long time ago, and unlike SC's speedrunning, it has a lot tricks that are high framerate dependent, and I was trying to run it with a PC that could barely manage playing and recording/streaming at the same time. I had loved Dishonored 1, was far from the best or most knowledgable player, but I still got a time of 1 hour and 7 minutes. The bottom of the leaderboard. Like yourself, I was... dissatisfied, and kept going until I got a lovely 46 minute run that I was satisfied with, even if all the world record runs were down to something like 33 minutes at the time. Speedrunning is one of those self-fulfilling things, where you can really prove to yourself that practice really does make you harder, better, faster, and stronger in lots of different skillsets.
Talking about how people have been speedrunning games pretty much since games have been around is absolutely true. My mom has been consistently speedrunning solitaire since 1990 on Windows 3.0. She scoffs in the face of RNG.
To everyone whose interested: Theres a new runner on the block. NewtKnut started running Chaos Theory as a result of this video, and is now second place on the leaderboards. Make sure to check out his streams if you´re interested.

@@oh-not-the-bees7872 I mean the speed running through the level with a perfect rating should be the action sequences so the whole story can fit in the movie
i watch so much Wirtual that when he said ‘then i got this run’ i completely expected en aften ved svanefossen to start playing
wirtual is an annoying bitch
10:10 "I saved in Bathhouse at the worst possible moment"...DUDE, I did that recently myself. Had like 1% health and 3 guards with no ammo. Granted, I was playing like an idiot as this was the first time I played in like 20 years but I've since replayed everything on Expert difficulty and got a 100% on all missions. Live and learn lmao
Edit: SAME exact spot as you too. The third bomb where you're on the ledge. Hahah I remember distinctly thinking that I can't be the only one to ever make this mistake. As much as you hate checkpoints, they looked pretty good here, huh? lmao
I swear to God, if you were to make only Splinter Cell videos I would be more than glad ❤️
imagine being a bank guard and then all of a sudden some government black ops agent runs through the building into the vault, steals something and then leaves
YES ANOTHER SPLINTER CELL VIDEO I CAN WATCH 100x
Very interesting video, loved it
Chaos Theory is a great game. I played this way too much back in my Xbox days.
Awesome video, your content is like when mom comes home with McDonald's!
Oh and i wouldn't call it an excuse to talk about splinter cell and more like a needed necessity to talk about splinter cell.
Oh and Hitman speedrun video when? :)
As much as I loved your vid on the review of all splinter cell games rushing through them takes the fun out
I really wish features from chaos theory continued on into blacklist and such
At this point, you’ve been doing more good to Splinter Cell than a certain video game developer nowadays. With that said, have you considered reviewing the books?
I've had enough AK's fired at me in my time to tell you that wasn't one.
I love seeing comments when people dont know the rules for a speedrun so they just say the runner is cheating its hilarious
Or when you tell them the rules and they say it's "dishonerable" or something to use glitches
Great video idea! I'm similar to you in that I follow speedrunning content on UA-cam and that's about it. This was super fun to watch.
It's nice to see people actually find fake speed runners. The viewers are the true heroes locating fake runners
I would never watch speedrun videos since I can't watch hours and hours of same thing, but for some reason I watched this video two times. It is so interesting how you explain each level in short, I hope you do this for other Splinter Cell titles
That EXACT softlock is the one and only reason I never completed this game. Just couldn't be asked to finish it after that haha
Speedrunning seems fun. Until you have to beat your own PB and spend months at a plateau trying to shave off 10 seconds for WR. 😅
You should be proud!
THATS BRONZE!
YOURE THIRD!!!
as far as your category youre SECOND!!!
Congratulations you absolute legend.
Ubisoft we want a new Splinter Cell Game entry soon Like right now 😡
I didn't expect the video the be so good.
Summoning Salt doesn't just cover news and breakthroughs... He's also a top speedrunner himself..
It's tempting to do this if for no other reason than to make a video and have an excuse to say "I achieved... this run"
Great video idea! Loved it 🎉
Talking about how people have been speedrunning games pretty much since games have been around is absolutely true. My mom has been consistently speedrunning solitaire since 1990 on Windows 3.0. She scoffs in the face of RNG.
LESSS GO HES BACK!!!
When speedrunning, you resemble Mike Stoklasa.
9:50 What he said
To everyone whose interested: Theres a new runner on the block. NewtKnut started running Chaos Theory as a result of this video, and is now second place on the leaderboards. Make sure to check out his streams if you´re interested.
if you take any video ideas/requests maybe a "reviewing all saints row" video
I soft locked myself at bathhouse the first time I played the game at that exact part
Man I loved this game
itd be fun to see a ghost speedrun
Great vid critical
You absolute legend.
u did so well :) the speedrun
