@@4literv6 Every country capable of making their own cars will put tariffs on imported cars. It's their stances on foreign brand presence & local factories setup makes the difference. No Chinese company wants an "Huawei" treatment, where the company gets banned for "national security" reasons not when/before it started to invest and setting up their business in the US market, but when they had settled their entire operations in NA(because all the assets can be used as hostage by the officials at this point), which is why they don't want to venture into the North American market yet. However on the other end US cars has its presence in China for decades. Buick is still considered as good cars by a lot of Chinese locals, unlike what it's like in it's home country nowadays

@@Fldllse why would Chinese ev cell companies be building several multi billion dollar cell plants here then? 😏
The Chinese are gonna go around the U.S. fair&legal tariffs by building cars in mx and driving or transporting them via rail over the border. 😀
Another loophole they've figured out is importing evs made in China, whilst exporting U.S. made vehicle's ala Volvo is exploiting this now.
I expect others who have U.S. plants, but also Chinese ev plants in operation to follow volvos lead.

Regarding the last vehicle with the sliding roof top:
I do love how the west views chinese development on EVs or indeed any products as "weird and strange", but when it is ...say Tesla or western products, it's like OMG what superb innovation blah blah blah.
Anything from China is viewed with skepticism as though China and chinese people as the oldest civilized nation is somewhat useless, weak, unable to innovate, pure yellow evil and so forth, often with a given assumption that there must be something wrong with it, if it is chinese or originated from China, such a strange mindset, but at the same time, it does show the triumph of centuries of western propagandx, that is now deeply rooted in the western psyche.
Even the most neutral of all often find themselves dropping quotes like "I am no communist supporter, but..." or "I'm no supporter of a dictatorship ...but ", but this design looks remarkable considering it comes from China or something along the line.
Every positive remark is so often accompanied by a backhanded qualifier.

For me it would be weird and strange if Tesla made it. Like their strange cybertruck.
Strange and weird is not said here as “bad” it’s meant as abnormal. It is abnormal. It is strange. And auto shows are full of wonderfully weird things.
