53:23 my husband does Ekadashi fasting as a religious practice. His last meal will be on Dashami ( previous day) around 5 pm and complete Nirjala ( no water as well) upavasa on the day of ekadashi and breaks the fast on Dwadashi after Vishnu Sahasranama Parayana ( 8 am). He lost 10 kgs since Jan 2023..his HBA1C Returned to normal, cholestrol levels stabilized. There are some days where ekadashi fasting has to be done for 2 days in such cases he has done complete Nirjala fasting for over 65 hours. Somehow I still do not have that mental stability do it yet..but looks forward to do it someday.
Just FYI, I do water only fast on ekadashi. Same as your husband- I eat last meal at night on dashmi and nothing until dwadashi. I also lost same amount of weight in one year. Ifcourse doing it nirjala might be even better, but you can start with a water fast first.
@boawo that's really good to know..I have 2 small kids 3 and 4 years old so that is also one of the reasons for me not doing a complete upavasa as I might need to eat if my kids do not eat fully, or sometimes they just come and put food in my mouth...just a minor thing but yes will do it eventually

This program should have been in English as well. Mostly Hindi spoken by the expert, and the transcript is all Hindi; so non-Hindi speakers could not benefit from this at all. It sounds like it was such a good program. Please find a way to bring the English transcript. Thanks.
So glad more and more experts know and are talking about the real benefits of ghee...I can verify that taking just ghee ( not mixed in other foods), does not lead to weight gain , cholesterol etc

As you mentioned, fasting is done to detox the body and to cope with the transition of season. How do people in the Southern Hemisphere fast? We live in Sydney, Australia. There is a seasonal transition here too, but it's winter to spring, which is the opposite of what we have in India.

Interestingly, we had the same season transition here in March or April, which is also a Chaitra Navratri and we had done the similar program during Chaitra Navratri too. As per Ayurveda, seasonal detox can be done in each Ritu Sandhi which is seasonal transition. Panchkarma can be done by everyone, It is for the preventive health and rejuvenation. Extensive Panchkarma therapies are also prescribed as per the Dosa imbalance for the chronic disease, but for a preventive health, we should do at least a seasonal detox. Be blessed and blissful !!

Ghee is so highly esteemed in Ayurveda, and Baba followed Ayurveda all his life; We wonder if Baba did use some ghee (5-10 g) to balance vata in dals, vegetables? As Baba didn't use any oil, which vasa did he use to control Vata of dals, vegetables? Because I tried to eat roti, dal, vegetables without any fat for some time. But it's too drying and increases vata too much! It seems there is 1 very important missing piece of information in following how Baba balances vata of dals and vegetables. All Ayurvedacharya on UA-cam like Dr Arun Mishra, Dr Rupali Jain say that little bit fat (oil or ghee) about 5-10 g is necessary to add in dal and vegetables for those to stop increasing vata. We understand that Baba didn't drink milk, yogurt, paneer etc, but I wonder if he did use small amount of ghee? Thank you Behan for your amazing work

Madam, with all due respect Ekadashi is anything but religious fasting. It is purely based on the effect of Moon's gravity on earth and her beings making it as "scientific" as any other fasting except intermittent of course.
