Every time I listen again to this incredibly sharp , talented ,witty (and,,so sadly, long gone) artist I become more astounded that the "big time" eluded him because I don't think anyone could fill his shoes. Can anyone figure out what tuning he's playing in here? Is he just dropping the low E to an A or am I missing something? Trying to pull off a cover of this tune.
That's a Danelectro Baritone Guitar. He's got it in what would be drop D on a regular guitar so that's drop A tuning on a baritone with a capo at the 3rd fret.
