    After posting a concept some time ago, here is the final version of my "instakill" raid farm for simulation distance 4, which can be used on Realms as it is.
    It uses a few interesting tricks such as split density and double raid activation in order to achieve rates of over 10K with only six stacked villages.
    Thank you for watching!

    Wow!! I would like to chime in about a Tutorial as well. I know it will take time, but some things are worth the wait.
    Thank you for putting in the effort for this. The fact that you have that extra Lava Blade means you were actively testing this over many many hours and not just 5 minutes and multiplying. You worked on the Spawn Proofing (and that is not fun either)... I didn't know Mobs could Spawn on Redstone? Leaves, oh why did it have to be Leaves.... Thank You!!!

    Really nice video. I know how much work you put into this so I appreciate the effort.
    A question about the wandering pillager, did you replace the glass walls with solid blocks and what happened if you did? Also why not just kill the pillager in the same lava place where you destroy the iron gear? 18:47 you can see the lava at this timestamp.

    • @oaretv
      @oaretv  4 місяці тому

      I didn’t try replacing the glass with solid blocks. The wandering pillager doesn’t show up often at all so it is hard to track down…
      But it is a good idea indeed! I might give it a try!
      It wouldn’t be possible to kill him in the place where the iron gear is destroyed though, because pillagers swim up. So the lava blade has to be above.

      This is a different form of instakill, hence the quotation marks.
      As Yodalf put it in the comments here, this is rather "very fast kill".
      True instakill immediately dumps the mobs out of detection range for the trigger village so it removes the entire raid wave at once.
      This on the other hand, requires every mob to be transferred to the dump village one by one, so it takes more time.

    I would argue this is not instakill, but very fast kill. In instakill farms the raid waives spawn outside of the raided village.
    Also unless it has changed, you can replace trapdoors by buttons and get rid of pistons/tripwires.

      You are of course right in that it is rather "very fast kill" than "instakill".

      @@oaretvbeautifully done. When I was playing around with raid farms I tried powder snow and that seemed to work well as a spawning platform. It's a bit annoying to collect and place though, so not necessarily an improvement. But it avoids any redstone for the spawning platform and potentially increases the number of spawn spots

      @oaretv I’ve played around with trying to force raids to spawn far below a village for ‘true’ insta kill purposes. From what I’ve found, if you spawn proof everything and add a platform directly below the village center they can spawn on it (up to about a 20x20 platform it seems). This is congruent with some of the raid spawning algorithm sheets that I have seen. In the farm’s current state this wouldn’t work, but if you were to move the villages 32 blocks away (so that just the corner of the bounding box clips the players location) then the magma platform would be within that ~20x20 area below the village center. This means that you could theoretically then get rid of the string setup and just have the raiders spawn on the magma. I’m not sure if this would work, but it would definitely improve the rates if it did. Great video btw!

    • @oaretv
      @oaretv  4 місяці тому

      Thanks you for your comment.
      What you describe sounds like what is called raid region 6: it is a 40x40 square underneath (or above) your village center which occurs whenever the algorithm can't find spawning spots inside of the village's bounding box (i.e if everything else is spawn proofed or non spawnable, like you found out).
      Raid region 6 is your best bet to do what you describe. Keep me posted of your successes and thank! @@hixx2759

    So I'm assuming that raid mobs spawn on platforms and have to fall 23 blocks to be removed from raid cap. Do the trigger villages have to be a certain distance from raid spawn spots?

    • @oaretv
      @oaretv  3 місяці тому

      What do you mean by "raid spawn spots"? The outpost HSS?
      If yes, you need to place 2 of the outpost HSS in split density area from the killing platform.
      I will explain that more in details when I do the tutorial for this raid farm.

    • @anonomus3696
      @anonomus3696 3 місяці тому

      @@oaretv I was referring to where raids spawned during the raid. From that location on the edge of the trap doors. Does the village in raid, the one that triggers the raid need to be a certain distance from the spawn area for the raid mobs in the raid to spawn. The reason I ask is I dropped raiders after spawning 25 blocks after spawning and they weren't removed from the raid bar. I had the trigger village right above raid spawn platform.

    • @oaretv
      @oaretv  3 місяці тому +1

      I would need to see your exact setup to assess anything.@@anonomus3696
      You can kick me a DM on Discord with the world download if you want me to take a closer look.
      In any case, here are the basics of raid spawning.
      Raids attempt to spawn in 6 successive regions. The first 5 regions are tethered to the raid spawning village center, and will attempt to spawn mobs in an area that spans 8 blocks up and 8 blocks down from the village center on the Y coordinate.
      The X and Z coordinates vary with regions, with the first 3 regions attempting to spawn mobs on the outskirts of the village's bounding box, and regions 4 & 5 attempting to spawn mobs close to the XZ center of the village.
      Then there is region 6.
      Region 6 is an oddball, as it actively attempts to spawn mobs outside of the Y+8 Y-8 area of regions 1-5. It can spawn mobs up to 128 blocks up and 128 blocks down on the Y coordinates, taking the highest spawnable block as its anchor point. But region 6 is also limited to what amounts to a XZ 40x40 square centered around the center of the village.
      My farm design focuses on spawning raid mobs in regions 1 and 3. It is possible to farm regions 1 and 3 without dropping the mobs, but I'm not going to go into details about this here. It would involve spawn-proofing the outpost HSS for raid mobs.
      If I'm understanding well what you describe, it seems like you are using region 4&5 spawns and dumping them into a dump village underneath?
      If that is the case, it should work in theory. I had a few prototypes that did exactly that, and as long as the drop height between the top trigger village and the bottom dump village's upper platform was >23 (25 for ravenger riders), everything went fine.
      In some prototypes I did have some unwanted region 6 spawns, which might be what you are witnessing, if the region 6 area is not spawn proofed well (you can spawn proof it way up above your farm, up to 128 blocks up on the Y coordinate, using leaves and a solid block underneath).

    • @oaretv
      @oaretv  3 місяці тому

      Lichen, sculk vein, scaffolding. Those three should work.
      There must be something else around the spawning spot that trips the spawning attempts.
      Can you describe your spawning spot more in detail? Or even better show me a picture somewhere?

    I am not the best at raid farms, but wouldn't removing the spawning platform force the raid to instantly spawn in the vbb of the dump village below?

    • @oaretv
      @oaretv  4 місяці тому +2

      Good question, thanks.
      This is a complicated issue. Wall of text incoming.
      The one bit of code digging that we have available regarding raid spawning indicates that there are several different spawning patterns that are attempted one after another in order to ensure a successful spawn for each raid wave.
      This piece of info indicates that for most of these spawning patterns, spawning will be only attempted between +/- 8 blocks on the Y axis from the village center.
      This is what I based my design upon.
      And testing does prove that, by simply removing the top spawning platform, I do not get successful spawns anymore in this specific design, because the magma platforms are too far along the Y axis from the village centers.
      There is one specific pattern that doesn't rely on the Y axis, but it implies spawning mobs directly underneath the player. Taking advantage of this pattern, it is possible to make spawns happen directly inside of the bounding box of the dump village. That is actually how some of my early prototypes worked. The problem: these types of designs don't allow the use of split density, and as a consequence the player becomes Bad Omen starved very quickly (maxing out at around 2 stacked trigger villages).
      However.
      Some further testing does seem to indicate that at least some of the other spawning patterns actually may rely on Y+/-16 from bed center. Perhaps even more.
      As a consequence, I have developed a prototype design that spawns mobs directly into the dump village's bounding box, but laterally, allowing for the use of split density.
      The problem is my early implementation of this idea relies on using stretched villages, for which I can't seem to find a way to control the bounding box properly.
      So currently, my prototype only works with one or two stacked villages only, hence why I decided to fall back onto the design I uploaded today, which works very reliably and well.
      I know stacking stretched villages should be possible, though. PekoNeko does it in his farm, so there is definitely a way to perform that. If I can find a good, simple and easy to explain way to make it happen, I might go back to my prototype and finish it.

      As someone who's built pekoneko's farm in survival, I can say that avoiding stretched villages really makes your design much more practical to build. Silentwisperer's tutorial for that farm really papers over the difficulty of getting it to work properly, but if you can get the second village to establish properly, the next six seemed to work reliably. The comment section for that tutorial contains tons of wisdom on ways to make the stacking easier (build walls, move workstations/beds 15 blocks at a time, move at night). Honestly it's a nightmare if build practicality is at all a design consideration.

      Thanks a lot!
      I tried to play around with stretching stacked villages in the way they are stretched in Pekoneko's farm, but had tons of issues with village bounding boxes being messed up.
      My design should be indeed pretty straightforward to build even in survival, although it does require some precise counting of the blocks to work properly.
      I will check Silentwisperer's comment section, maybe I can find keys to make the stretching work? Out of curiosity!@@nickeltek

      Hello,
      The easiest way to do it is to place a honey block immediately above the trapdoor.
      Then throw the trident into the face of the honey block. It will be offset just perfectly, so that when you break the honey block, the trident will fall right into place.
      Downside: it requires quite a few honey blocks to perform in survival. But it is my recommended method. Try it in creative until you get it right (it is very easy) and then move on to survival.
