    And if you turned the 2nd battery 180 degrees you'd have a cleaner hookup with a shorter jumper cable with less chance of a short if your jumper was to rub.

    I have a 24 v trolling motor and I want to add more trolling time. I have 2 12v linked in series can I ad a third battery to keep it at 24v but have longer batt life? Thanks!

      Are you asking what type of battery/batteries you need for electronics? If so, it depends on the power draw of the electronics package. For most, a single 12V battery runs fish finders, but more complex electronics packages can require up to 200Ah of power for a day of fishing.
