- Based on the frame of the mass-produced AMS-119 Geara Doga, the Jagd Doga was a special suit designed to be used by the Neo Zeon’s Newtype pilots, it has a psycoframe cockpit for controlling the six funnels stored on its shoulder-mounted funnel pod shields. Unlike previous mobile suits that utilize funnel weapons, the Jagd Doga cannot recharge its funnels. Other weapons of the suit include a beam saber with attached heat knife for close combat, two triple missile launchers behind the funnel pod shields, and a beam assault rifle for Gyunei's unit, while Quess' unit carried a mega Gatling beam gun. In U.C. 0096, the Quess' Jagd Doga was repaired and modified by The Sleeves for their own use. A Geara Doga's right arm served as a replacement for the original that was lost during the Second Neo Zeon War. However, it also lost the right arm's funnel pod shield because of this. Other modifications include a Geara Doga's backpack replacing its original one, two funnels for its remaining funnel pod shield, and it was repainted yellow and dark gray and given the personal markings of units used by The Sleeves.
That beam gatling is very dope! If it was a real pilot instead a confused and spoiled brat, it would be a real threat.

We did see the Unicorn shred a Dreissen with it once with a Beam Gatling similar if not identical to it not to mention it's Dual Beam Gatling set up with the shields so yeah it's really effective when used correctly

that moment the MS outlived its pilot, well given a Geara Doga arm to replace it's destroyed one.
Pretty sure that's also a case for Byarlant, except it's more of a opposite, she die in her signature mech suit(mech armor if you want) while he die in some random mech suit(Bound Doc is definitely not his optimal mech suit)
I always liked quess machine because i love Gatling style weapons because they should be one of the most powerful beam weapons on a mobile suit but the kashatryia beam Gatling was pathetic compared to the other beam Gatlings

@@justnoob8141 Baund Doc for its time was unreal in terms of an all round performance, especially in close range, but it was overkill in terms of scale.
The funnel, which easily dropped the Jegan in the era of Char's Counterattack, is not so easily damaged by the Jegan in the era of Unicorn, which shows the increase in performance in areas that cannot be seen by numbers.

@@swordimpulse07 Well, the Prototype Stark Jegan can house 2 pilots yes. But that specific Jegan was a normal Stark Jegan with the Prototype Stark Jegan's colors and twin vulcan pods, which the PSJ doesn't have any vulcans.
何気にUCの時では相手を倒す決め手ではなく、あくまで相手の体勢を崩す為のアシスト的な扱いなってるのが特徴的だな。
この頃には相手の装甲の質が上がり、ファンネル系列の対策戦術もあるみたいだし。

このヤクト・ドーガはファンネルが単純に2個しかないので火力が足りない。また、予備が無い貴重なものだから破壊される訳にはいかない。
だから撃破の決め手になってないんだろうな。
この時代はなんだかんだ逆シャアから3年経つか経たないくらいだし、耐ビームコーティング能力が上がったとしてもそこまで差があるとは思えない。
クェスの父殺しのシーンほんと業が深くてえぐい
基本性能がギラドーガより大幅に向上している上に損傷してもいざとなればギラドーガのパーツを流用できる、サザビーには性能で及ばないとは言ってもこいつはこいつで良い機体だと思う。

and the fact that there are only two Jagd Doga units, and we know that Gyunei's Jagd Doga was destroyed by Amuro meaning that this has got to be Quess's Jagd Doga adding on to the head giveaway, and the arm that got replaced.

Also the funnels are piss-weak in Unicorn since they're just scuffing that Jegan.
The Prototype Stark Jegan has gundarium plating on sections of its hull and the verniers, which explains the low damage output been dealt comparatively; funnels are by no means piss-weak, especially considering the damage the Khastriya was dishing out with its own complement
Presumably they can't replace worn out components or repair minor damage/wear, which explains why there's only two of them left.

Down the line from Zeta to Unicorn, people had to make artificial Gundarium due to them running low and how expensive it was getting. So maybe the prototype Jegan was using a much more stronger and enhanced version of the stuff.

Reasons to get a Stark Jegan: They can fight suits with funnels. Everytime one pops up and funnels are involved someone has to either save the pilot using funnels(the writers for Marida) or pull them off screen(Geara Zulu for Jagd Doga)
Honestly man. I love the stark jegan and it's appearances in the series, especially its first one where it almost beat the kshatriya. I thought this scene was a funny little coincidence where another stark was fighting an ms with funnels. If only marida didn't have plot armor...

この一連のシーンではビームは三発撃たれているけど、収納するシーンではファンネルは二つしか映っていない。
それは恐らく 1:01 でジェガンが反撃した時に一つは撃ち落とされているからだと思う。
それに本来のヤクトドーガは合計六基のファンネルを搭載しているけど、逆シャアでは片腕をファンネルごと損失しているからね。予備パーツもないしファンネルを作る技術も無いしで、かなり大切に扱ってきたんだろうなぁ。
ジェガンが盾でビームうけながしたりファンネルガードしてるのが素晴らしい。あとヤクトのファンネルはレーザーだから攻撃力は低い。なので基本牽制してビームライフルで撃破が戦術。クシャトリは大型で出力も高いのでファンネルだけで撃破してるけど。
0:30ギラドーガの盾はジェガンのバルカンで穴開くのにジェガンの盾はめっちゃ硬いですね・・・・

I feel like this was Char's machine first, honestly.
Originally, in MSV they made a Psycho Doga where it was a combo of the geara and jagd dogas. The psycho doga later was developed into the Sazabi.

Such a fun MS to have and use in any game that it's been available in, from what I can tell. The rapid stun caused from the Gatling gun in DW Gundam 2, for example, made it very easy to approach and wail on an enemy Ace. And it, along with Gyunei's Jagd, were better options for the Purus than their own Quebeleys in SRW X, funny enough.

試作NT専用MSヤクト・ドーガの1号機。カラーリングからわかるように元は総帥専用機として開発された機体でもある。
名前からわかるようにベースはギラ・ドーガ。しかし元々ギラ・ドーガがサイコミュ搭載を想定していなかったこともあり、そこら辺はサイコフレームでゴリ押ししているため、他のNT専用機と比べると完成度はあまり高くない。そのため総帥専用機はサザビーに座を譲ることになり、本機は予備機として放置されていた。
完成度はあまり高くないと言ったものの、機体性能自体は優秀の一言。攻防一体のシールドや従来品と比べ追従性などが高く高性能化したファンネル(ただし充電ができない弱点がある 袖付き仕様は改良したのか克服済み)など、新生ネオジオンのエース機として高い戦闘能力を持つ。クェス機はここにメガ・ガトリングガンを装備。おそらくクェスがパイロットとしてはど素人なことを考慮し、狙うよりも弾丸をばら撒いた方が強いのが理由である。
劇中では…実の父親の乗った艦を落とすなど、一定の戦果はあげているが、右腕の破損やパイロットが乗り換えたなどの理由でそのまま倉庫送りとなってしまった。しかし袖付き仕様として一瞬だけだがまさかの再登場 破損した右腕をギラ・ドーガで補い、予備がなく貴重なため充電可能なよう改良したファンネルを巧みに操っていた。

Quess always had my favourite Jagd Doga of the two. The Gattling Beam, and the colour scheme were my primary reason for liking it lol. Can't say it was the pilot, although I admit I liked the pure red pilot suit she had. I like Red ok... Char's Counterattack had a lot of really nice designs in general.
I never knew the Jagd in Unicorn was Quess' variant. That's a really cool little detail, it even has a new arm. Wonder if it has an HG or something out there? I prefer MGs or 1/100s in general, but I'll settle for a nice little HG kit of the Unicorn Variant. Shame the only 1/100 of Quess' is a P-Bandai (for some reason), and seemingly impossible to find.
She probably would have been more likable if Char hadn't of nourished that rebellious side of her while pumping her full of cyber newtype drugs to make her go crazy. I think we were supposed to feel bad for her due to her rapid decline, as opposed to just finding her annoying.

Disposable funnels really limits it's firepower in long engagements, just like Xi Gundam's funnel missile, use it up and it's done. It's a formidable MS, but it still didn't stop Amuro killing Gyunei in one hit effortlessly
Likey Char is the only person that can match up to Amuro, so everyone else gonna get one shot by him as the plot dictates.

OK I'mma piss off some kit builders in here. I use the jagd doga (basically this one) and made a high mobility geara doga( jagd legs and side skirts plus funnel shoulder bit with a geara doga) it's actually a real easy kitbash

The arm is a Geara Doga’s arm to replace the one it lost in CCA, and it has a different shoulder shield as well

Yeah the replacement arm is basically a Geara Doga arm, shield included but unfortunately only two funnels for the other arm.
Quess' Jagd Doga is the only one that survived. Gyunei's got blown up. This one also shows signs that it was repaired from the exact same damage Quess' Jagd Doga took. So we know it's not a new one that was built.

Who's the third doga with two funnels? And the pilot is a new type.
In U.C. 0096, Quess' Jagd Doga was repaired for combat during the Laplace Incident. Its right arm, lost during the Second Neo Zeon War, was replaced by a Geara Doga's arm, which uses the same basic frame. It was armed with the Beam Machine Gun used by the Geara Doga, only carried two funnels and the backpack is replaced with the Geara Doga's backpack. This unit was piloted by Full Frontal's Royal Guard pilot Zechst Ade and sent into battle against Londo Bell forces during the Battle of Industrial 7 (gundam wiki)

Too bad that Stark Jegan's pilot didn't know how to fly it. It has been customized for high speed, but he just stays in place. The guy who fought Kshatriya and almost won knew how to fly one.

Why Battleships were still used even though they are easily destroyed by a few mobile suits, they are expensive and costly to build, presented as a big target to the enemy mobile suit, and need hundreds or thousands of crews to operate. I know it's for the rule of cool, but I think it was very counterproductive if they continue to build battleships etc
Very flawed logic there. MS and battleships serve different purposes, just like how a tank irl can pop troops and rampage a battlefield like crazy, but u still need actual foot soldiers, or how fighter and bomber jets can take out irl battleship, but battleships are still needed to shoot far range artillery and house the actual jets and personels
Battleships in Gundam houses the MS, the pilots, provide living space, maintenance space for the suits, transport over massively far distances of space, MSs cant fly anywhere far with the little fuel they have

Weird how the funnels got weaker after the movie
With how things were then and with later series, its not surprising how things may be overpowered in one era but completely irrelevant in another, an example of this is the beam rifles. Try comparing the funnels from the Unicorn series and Narrative movie, instead of a trump card per se its now like a common place weapon for new types
I think its just the case of funnels being innefficient and people opting for simpler cheaper and more effective weapons
