Well.....ASH is a fine MS,even in anime. GOOnH and ZnO on land is pretty meh.... Forbidden vortex and Deep Forbidden sucks on screen.... Yep,while I don't believe it is the only one,it is by far the best aquatic MS at that point,plus being the only aquatic MS that didn't suck in space
the only thing I dont like about the Abyss is that about half of its weapons are inoperable in the environment it was designed to operate. I wonder why they didnt give it Phonon Maser cannons somewhere to allow it to use beam weaponry underwater
@@bluedestiny2710 the abyss only had the forbidden blue and it's upgraded version to compete with it in aquatic combat, they were mostly made up of tech from the last war meaning they don't compare well to the abyss, so at this point in time, the abyss was the best aquatic mobile suit. Photon maser canons were either too big or too slow to implement in the agile abyss for underwater combat, or it could be that it was inefficient in out of water combat. The reason abyss had more weapons for out of water combat, was because it was designed mainly as support artillery for the impulse, all of the 2nd gen zaft Gundam's were designed to support the impulse Gundam.

But after Kira got into it, it became a symbol of 1 freeing themselves from hatred, cycle of violence, and the control of the unjust. Freedom to choose their own path as well. Justice series-Original Justice was named for the sake of propaganda to embody the will of the ZAFT to make OMNI answer for their crimes against coordinators. But after Athrun joined Kira in it, it became a symbol of what is right and 1 following what their own gut and mind is telling them is correct instead of blindly doing what others tell them to. Not my favorites out of the trio, but I do have to give it respect for what it is it’s good underwater and equally good on land, which is kind of rare and some other Gundam underwater MS they mostly put all points in one pacific category so cool And the model kit is actually decent It’s actually a very nice one worthy of getting it.
It's unfortunate we didn't see more of Abyss in an atmospheric battle outside of the Theft at Armory One incident, 'cause it can definitely provide some firepower alongside the Chaos.
Fun fact: the shoulder cannon is an upgraded version of Freedom's (albeit weaker with green beam instead of blue-red) and the chest cannon is the same type as Strike Freedom's

ガンダムとしては珍しい水中戦特化型の機体。
MA形態は水中専用の為、地球に降りるまでは封印されていた。
水中特化型といいながらも高火力のビーム兵器も装備していたから地形に問わず戦闘も可能な万能機でした。
セカンドステージのガンダムの中では最も早く退場した為、その後のガンプラは旧HGのまま。スパロボの参戦もパイロットのアウル共々Zのみであまり恵まれていない。

というか、アビスに限らずセカンドステージのMSはエネルギー問題を殆ど解決してると言っても過言ではないから…
それこそ無理な長期戦やら初期三馬鹿みたいなありえねぇ使い方しない限りエネルギー切れ起こすことはまず無いっていう

水中での戦闘を主眼に開発した機体にも関わらず宇宙でも運用出来るというなかなかこういう部類では珍しい機体だと思います😅…流石にSEEDを発現したシンのブラストインパルスには敵わなかったみたいですな～😅
アビスの攻撃を直前にブラストシルエットをパージして爆発に気をとらわれた隙にビームジャベリンにコックピットごと刺された。このシーンを見ると前作のイザークが(宇宙やけど)フォビドゥンを突進する際にフォビドゥンはフレスベルグを発射し、デュエルを撃沈したと思われたが、(デュエルはキラを撃つ怨念によってアサルトシュラウドを強化された状態)デュエルの増加装甲をパージし、爆発の隙を突き接近戦を持ち込みフォビドゥンの反撃対応不可な状態でコックピットごと突き刺す。(フレスベルグもビームサーベルで使用不能)フリーダム➕ジャスティスですら敵わなかったのに性能の差をパイロットの技量差で勝利している。シンもそのうちの一人SEED込みでも。
三機の中でも一番戦果をあげてる機体。

運用の仕方からして、水中特化というより水中での軌道力が高めの射撃より万能機のイメージ
火力があのフリーダム以上の機体、パイロットも印象的
「ごめんねぇ、強くてさぁ！」
そんな機体も、覚醒した主人公には敵わず、最後はまさかの槍投げでコクピットを貫かれ、パイロット共々海の藻屑になるとは・・・😮
