    I think your hacks are great! You do what you can with the materials and money available to you, and no one else should judge. I can't wait to see how your buckram-stiffened bodice front turned out!

    The lacing was definitely not decorative but functional like a corset. It's spiral laced as was the custom for the period.
    I love your level of creativity and ingenuity. Keep up the good work. German towns in England were definitely a thing. As were French gowns. The typical tutor woman actually wore French style gowns if she were fashionable because the French were always the most forward in fashion in medieval Europe.
