Thanks for demonstrating such nice techniques with these gel sticks. I love the way each color has so many different shades, especially the blues and the aquas.
Hi Shel, I’ve never thought of using the gel sticks in stencils this way, thankyou for another great idea and enjoyable video. Take care and stay safe xxx
Fun techniques! Thanks for sharing them. I don't use my gel sticks very often, but now that I know how to seal them, I might use them more often. Great pages!
I do appreciate how you explain how the different watercolor media work and talking us through your process. Although, I have already learned the differences from you over the years, it’s still great being reminded, and you’ve done a great job explaining it all to beginners, new to your videos. Thanks, Shel.
Yay!!! I’ve been checking for this! You just have always that unique technique that adds a new dimension to my mixed media fun. I have a billion of these sticks because they come in so many colors and I am a color junkie but I never use them because mediums that “move” scare me. Thanks for listening to the few and taking time to do this video. That is huge! Can’t wait to hit my art desk. 💜
Have fun Janice :) Don't let the moving mediums scare you. As long as you treat them gentle they can be fun to add to your mixed media layers and give a little unique something to the process!
Fun video! Thanks for sharing😀 And thanks for the link to the brushes. I’ve been looking for those. Side note: Your speaking voice is so pleasant compared to some. It’s refreshing and almost soothing. If that even makes sense?😂 I love your videos❤️ Keep up the great work!
This is brilliant and amazing. I have a few different gel sticks and I never really know what you can do with them. I now think I want to buy some rice paper 😄
Would this work on vellum or transfer paper? I meant to buy ‘tracing’ paper so I have a ton of both! I can use both in collage right? I’m a total newb, forgive the silly questions! Adore all these techniques and your stencils! They’re from stencil girl? Thanks Sharon
Give them a try :) Vellum somtimes can be a jerk as it gets stiff and crackley...but it depends on the brand. Transfer paper can sometimes have a waxy finish that would repel glue for collage. Best thing to do is just play. If it works, yay! If it doesn't then you can find a different use for them. Yes, the stencils are StencilGirl products, my fav!
Gelatos will work great for this project. I do LOVE the gel sticks though and they were not terribley expensive and had LOTS of colors. I am a color junkie LOL. amzn.to/3v2n1Ze
The color range in the King Art sticks is great and they are reasonably priced. I think I will get some. Thanks for your videos.
Way to much fun and Thanks for the weekend pick me up. 💕🦋💕
Any time :) Thanks for watching!

All of the techniques are fun. The matte medium resist one is something I haven't seen before. I will be playing with that one. TFS
Thank you Carlotta :) Have fun!

Glad it was helpful Cheryl :) I personally need reminding as I have wayyyyyyy too much info stored in my head so I forget some LOL
@@ShelCPaperOcotilloStudio me too. My head is full, yet sometimes, I get stuck with “empty space” in my brain. So reminders are helpful.
I can’t wait to try these out - thank you for the video
Hope you enjoy playing with your gel sticks :)

I am new to all of this and wondering what you do with the rice paper after you color on it?

Fun Shel, but now I want rice paper and I do NOT need paper.
LOL..I am an enabler. I don't need paper either! But rice paper was a good find.
