What choice did she have with those two airheads sitting across from her? Honestly, they are pretty worthless.

Agreed....She's more than Gilligan's Island....She's said it many times before. That's why she wasn't in the reunion movies. She should be able to talk about life before .... & .... after the show. To come out there at 90 years old to talk about and be interviewed about her book - and they got Skipper & Gilligan plastered across the monitor....and knowing they have only a select short amount of time to talk.....This just should have been about Tina! Talk about the book. What she's doing now, etc. F-Gilligan. It's not about that show now. It's about Tina.

Heard she was very self-absorbed on GI to the point of even thinking "she" was the main character! Also heard she was aloof. I was so glad she reminded them of why she was there. We all have nostalgia for GI, and asking a few questions about the show is fine, but she was there to promote her book, a memoir, not to indulge us in memories of the show, and a wonderful show it was.

They always interrupt on Tv interviews. They have to, because the time allotted for the interview is so short, so they have to cut ideas short to move it along. In order to allow the actor to talk nonstop to tell everything uninterrupted, they need to be interviewed in an unlimited oral history interview setting. There are oral histories on youtube with people like William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy that go on for around 5 hours.

@@Forever.Bombshell She was a pop culture icon for three years only----and in reruns. Other than 'Gilligan's Island' she was mostly unknown from then on. Where was HER TV series? Most of her fellow cast members stayed away from her on the set because she was arrogant and rude. Being rude to cast members is one thing, but being rude to Jack Arnold and Ida Lupino is another thing entirely. They were Hollywood heavyweights! Aside from her small role in a few 'Dallas' episodes, there is not a whole lot to talk about concerning her career; however, her final scene was quite memorable for 'Dallas' fans. While trying to run away with damaging evidence against Jock and J.R. Ewing, she tripped and fell off the roof of the Ewing building!

I had a very rough spell for some years and have regrets over things I did in that time. They say you can heal your inner child. Maybe, maybe not for some. I try to be at peace with it all. Sometimes I do wonder how things would have turned out if things had been different, but I have 5 beautiful kids and 5 grandkids, that are my life,so can't imagine any different.

With all due respect, you screwed up this interview.
You should have known (or should have been told) Tina is the most reluctant of all members of the cast to revel in nostalgia about “Gilligan’s Island,” and at 90 (!) she didn’t go on TV to promote a memoir about her childhood only to be asked the same questions about the show 57 years later.
(My reply has been edited to correct my error in believing this interview aired on Channel 11 in Los Angeles rather than Channel 11 in New York. In a direct reply to Janet Kriegl, I explain why I believe my mistake actually didn’t matter.)

You have to give her credit she wasn't a stupid lady. I didn't see the show until it was in syndication and even though I was a very young boy no one could deny that she and Mary Ann were the reason most watched that show. Denvers character was a bumbling fool be he and Hale were as good together as any great comedy duo. Those were the days when shows were made for entertainment purposes. And even if they became slightly political, the message of entertainment always came first and never got lost. Tina Louise is 90 years and still has her mind! We should all be that lucky someday.
